Reggie shows the ball how to bow at his feetEvery club has one of them now and
again. A colourful and flamboyant character who has such a lofty opinion of their own skills that
they can't help but tell the world. Often this can be an endearing quality to fans but only when
there is actual skill to back it up.
LeToux: Not Bolton, VC-be?
Our friends over at The Brotherly Game have been all over this one.
The Philadelphia Union looking to deal yes deal perennial MVP candidate Sebastien Le Toux in the
wake of Bolton taking a pass on bringing him across the pond.
Rumored destination? None other than the Vancouver Whitecaps.
D.C. United has used the number seven overall selection in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft to select Nick
DeLeon a midfielder out of Louisville.
DeLeon will look to join forces with the rest of the young United squad and hopefully contribute
quickly as the Red and Black are looking to return to the MLS playoffs this season.
BOLTS OVERCOME BY REVOLUCION Tijuana overcomes 4 goal deficit to defeat
Anaheim
Bolts Press Release:Anaheim, CA- (January 6, 2012)- New year, same story. The Anaheim Bolts held a lead going into the
fourth quarter but fell to Revolucion Tijuana 14-13 to drop to 3-4 on the season.
Quite simply forwards need to score. Obviously one guy is. But for Seattle Sounders FC he did
not have a regular partner up top. This has led some to think that this means that they need a new
player. Still returning forwards scored 13 goals in all competitions adding 10 assists as well. Of
course that Montero guy was the star of the bunch with his 17 and 11.
In the spirit of full transparency, and wasting no time since the balloting was announced, I am
jumping in with both feet and giving you my picks for Dynamo Theory's 2011 Creamsicle Awards.
Hopefully, we can finish the year and start the next with a healthy discussion and debate on
reviewing what was, for me, the most fun Houston Dynamo season that didn't have a trophy-winning
celebration at the end of it.

As the calendar gets set to turn to 2012, it's an obvious time to reflect and look back at the
year that was for U.S. Soccer.
While the year provided the ushering in of a new coaching era, a 6-8-3 international record and
a breakout stage for a number of players, it also saw some of the more familiar names rise to the
occasion on both the club and international levels.
There was only one thing DC United fans knew for sure going into the 2011 season, and that was this
season couldn't be any worse than the previous one. After setting the standard for futility, the
team not only climbed ...

After months of speculation, it is finally official: Mauro Rosales has re-signed with the
Seattle Sounders. Exact terms of the deal were not released, as this is MLS, but the team has
confirmed that Rosales has signed a multi-year deal that could make him a Designated Player.
Rosales will be announced as the team's newest signing as the first order of business during
Tuesday's End of Year Business Meeting
Rosales' contract would qualify him to be categorized as a DP, but the team is holding off on
finalizing that part until they determine if the required allocation dollars would be better used
elsewhere.
Will keep the Galaxy and Chivas USA very busy. Read the column here. As if to confirm that, Chivas
USA announced this afternoon that last season's MVP, goalkeeper Dan Kennedy, has signed a new
contract with the club. For my money Kennedy is easily one of the best goalkeepers in
The Revolution used its second overall pick to select former University of Rhode Island
midfielder Danleigh Borman from Toronto during Stage 1 of today's Re-entry Draft. Since Borman is
out of contract, the league will extend a Bona Fide offer to him to play for the Revolution.
Borman played in 21 games for the Reds and recorded three assists in 2011.

Editor's note: At the end of the 2010 season, we posted a series of "Raves" about our
favorite Philadelphia players. They need not be the team's best players, but they're guys and gals
we like. Over the next two weeks, we continue the series again with some of the PSP writers' and
contributors' favorite players of 2011.
By Tony Edwards - San Jose, CA (Nov 23, 2011) US Soccer Players -- Far be it from us not to stick
to a schedule, so here's the Thanksgiving Day edition of the 5 Questions. Tony looks at former
MVP's new job, the Castrol Ratings for Americans in Europe, and when to show up for a Crew game.
What did you miss, this past season, if you got to your seat at a Crew game.
So it's that time of the year, shortly after the conclusion of another MLS Season and the
beginnings of yet another intriguing MLS Offseason, where families gather to mark some occasion
from many, many years ago when some people from a foreign land decided to venture forth from their
land in search of freedoms, and landed their ships upon the rock known as the good old U S of
A.
I know I'm a few days late, but I was not impressed with this MLS cup. People are talking about
how great and "best" this LA Galaxy team is. I'm thinking far from it. It has taken 3 years under
the "Beckham Experiment," as SI Soccer Analyst Grant Wahl put it, to finally get the MLS Cup final
victory (they were there before but ended up losing to Real Salt Lake).
Their Words A forward like that, you give him one opportunity, he puts it away. You shut him down
all game and all of a sudden he gets an opportunity and puts the ball in the back of the net.

over Houston - from ESPN.
The 2011 MLS Cup Final was won in a dream fashion. The LA Galaxy capped off an incredible season
where they won the Supporters Shield, achieved success in the CONCACAF Champions League and
impressed everyone with their quality throughout. With the 1-0 win over a resistant Houston Dynamo
the Galaxy secured their third MLS Cup and did so in front of 30,281 screaming fans who weathered
the rain.
Ladies, gentlemen, we have now entered the last 24 hours of the 2011 MLS Season. It's been a
good one, perhaps one of the best, and, as we prepare for the final in LA, I'm sure we all have our
bets on which team will take the cup. But first, let's catch up on the results of MLS's annual
awards.
Is this goodbye? David Beckham could play his last MLS game for the Galaxy Sunday in the MLS
championship game - and not even the club knows whether he will return (AP Photo).
Or, at least David Beckham, whose five-year MLS contract expires at year's end, has not shared
his decision privately - if he has made one - with Galaxy owner Anschutz Entertainment Group and
President Tim Leiweke, who spoke to reporters Friday at Home Depot Center during the MLS MVP
presentation ceremony.
Ask 10 Seattle Sounders fans who they would like to see protected in the upcoming MLS Expansion
Draft and you're probably going to get 10 slightly different answers. Just about everyone can agree
that Mauro Rosales, Fredy Montero and Osvaldo Alonso should be protected, but beyond those three
there seems to be at least some level of decent.
The 2011 MLS Cup Final is being considered in most circles as a mis-match between the strongest
team in the league and a team that road a hot streak into the post season. The Los Angeles Galaxy
are the heavy favorites to lift the trophy in their home stadium, but the Dynamo aren't ready to
just play the role of punching bag.
A deserving award for the second-half goal machine. And it's a fascinating case this year, probably
the strangest MVP we've ever had. What's interesting is how DeRo was discarded not once but twice,
first by hometown TFC and then by New York, who really needed Frank Rost (epic eye roll here) in
that DP spot.
OK, I guess by now we have all let the news sink in that Dwayne De Rosario has been named the 2011
MLS MVP and not our very own Brad Davis. (I put that photo up there just to kind of soften the blow
for everyone if you had not heard.)
Personally, while I would have given the award to Davis (Don't get me wrong.
D.C. United star Dwayne DeRosario has enjoyed one of the best careers in MLS history and is
widely regarded as one of the best players the league has ever seen. He has won multiple
championships, and most recently a Golden Boot, but the one honor he hadn't won before was MLS Most
Valuable Player.
The 2011 Volkswagen MLS Most Valuable Player was always going to be controversial. There have been
many arguments for and against the Canadian winning the MVP award. In 2011 he played for 3 teams,
Toronto FC, New York and D.C. United. The bulk of his season was spent with D.C. United and it was
there that his case for MVP was made.
Houston Dynamo fans will be a bit disappointed when they wake up this morning to discover that
Brad Davis was not named the 2011 MLS MVP, but that disappointment will be tempered a bit since
Dwayne De Rosario, once an important member of the Dynamo, is this season's MVP. In fact, the last
time De Rosario won the MVP, in 2007, he was a member of the back-to-back MLS Cup winning
Dynamo.
Montero 4th, Rosales 5th in SBN MVP Voting - Brad Davis Wins
Voting came down to defining "value" not the "best" player.
By ADAM SERRANO
The Houston Dynamo may be without their MVP candidate, but the Los Angeles Galaxy are keenly
aware that the Dynamo will still have another key weapon in their attack.
Dynamo captain Brian Ching has enjoyed a stellar season since battling back from injuries that
limited him to just 20 regular season games.
David Beckham has always been known as a fierce competitor and for his ability to return from
the injury that cost him a chance at the World Cup, he was awarded with the 2011 MLS Comeback
Player of the year.
The 36-year-old midfielder has enjoyed an MVP-caliber season, battling back from a potentially
career-ending Achilles injury that cost Beckham a spot on England's 2010 World Cup spot and caused
him to miss six months of the 2010 MLS season.

I've been holding off on posting my year-end picks for all of the MLS awards until this week.
The week of MLS Cup seemed to be as good of a week as any to post this material. With nothing else
going on (aside from a US game tomorrow) it just seemed like the right time.
With the season now over, it's time to take a look at my year end awards for Sporting KC. As last
year, members of the media got to vote on MVP, Defensive player of the year, and Humanitarian of
the year. The team awards saw Jimmy Nielsen bring home MVP, Matt Besler bring home defensive player
of the year , and Kei Kamara bring home Humanitarian of the Year for the second year in a row.

Former Montreal Impact MVP David Testo announced yesterday that he is gay.
The midfielder, who also played for Columbus Crew and the Vancouver Whitecaps, was cut from the
Impact's roster a month ago, and said in his statement that he regrets not coming out publicly
earlier.
It is a debate that is sure to heat up in the days leading up the announcment of the final MLS
end-of-season awards.
Who is the MLS MVP?
There are candidates scattered throughout MLS, with some candidates having stronger cases than
others. In the case of some teams, like Los Angeles and Seattle, you have multiple candidates.
Still no power, so here is a quick survey of how the local newsapers are covering their team's
win or loss in Sunday's compelling Conference Final matchup. We'll start in Utah, where RSL
continues to enjoy strong local coverage from both the Salt Lake Tribune and the Deseret News. The
Trib sports section included a hard news report on the 3-1 defeat as well as an array of stories
in the days leading up to the match.

Major League Soccer announced the slate of candidates for various year end awards. Players, club
officials, and reporters had a hand in selecting the finalists. Dates in parentheses are when the
winners will be announced. Here's hoping Don Garber doesn't accidentally name-drop this year's MVP
a day early.
That's about the best way I think I can describe my feelings about last night. I'd even tried to
prepare myself for it, telling myself it wouldn't happen. Still didn't make me feel any better when
the final whistle blew. KC bowed out of the playoffs at home for the first time since 1997 last
night to the Houston Dynamo 2-0.
Now that the initial euphoria and joy from the Houston Dynamo's victory at LIVESTRONG Sporting
Park has begun to wear off a little, we are left with the lingering concern that while the Dynamo
will play for the MLS Cup in two weeks, the already difficult task has been made considerably
harder due to an injury to team MVP Brad Davis.
Today the MLS Cup finalists will be decided and two teams will earn humble silverware with a
conference championship. Sporting Kansas City and the Houston Dynamo will square off to decide the
East while the LA Galaxy and Real Salt Lake square off to decide the West. For the first time in
what seems like ages, teams from the east and west are playing in their respective conference
championships.
From the Comets
(Independence, MO) Last night the Comets and Wings played a nail-biting affair won in extra
minutes. Tonight the Comets showed off their experience by dominating the visiting Wichita Wings
14-4. The packed house at the Independence Events Center was treated to another great goal from
midfielder and early MVP candidate, Geison as well as goals from current MVP Byron Alvarez.
