As if the defending MLS Champions needed any more offensive firepower, the LA Galaxy announced
today that Edson Buddle would be rejoining the Galaxy after terminating his contract with FC
Ingolstadt by mutual consent.
Buddle's addition gives LA the league's best forward tandem, as he and Robbie Keane will lead a
line that should feast on the service provided by Landon Donovan and David Beckham.

With that, there is movement afoot on the most protracted TFC transfer saga of the off-season,

Once one of the country's most highly-rated young players, 32-year-old Michael Ball has been
punished by The FA for an offensive Tweet he sent to Coronation Street star Anthony Cotton.
Carroll starts as Reds bid to end the year at Anfield with a win
CRAIG BELLAMY and Jose Enrique start tonight for Liverpool against their former club but all
eyes will be on Andy Carroll as Newcastle visit Anfield – especially the eyes of the usual
snipers. Luis Suarez is unavailable after his gesture to snipers of a different kind at Fulham
didn't go down too well, the resulting one-game ban setting the scene for Carroll to show why
Liverpool paid so much for him – or to give the snipers an easy target.
Until recently, Liverpool were the most successful English team. Their comprehensive history
includes: 18 top tier English football league titles, 7 FA Cups, 7 League Cups, 5 UEFA Champions
League titles, and 3 UEFA Cups.
The Reds' most successful season was back in the 1983/84 season where they managed to claim a
prestigious treble obtaining the top tier league title, the League Cup, and the European Cup.

Never played a minute for the first team, but was on the bench for those memorable wins over
Shaktar, Juventus; a few other random Europa Games. Had a pretty productive spell at MK Dons the
second-half of last season, and even played a part in the Dons' playoff run.

Already this season there have been two sackings, two resignations and two departures by mutual
consent in the Football League alone, including two ex-England managers; Steve McClaren and most
recently Sven Goran-Eriksson.
Following numerous reports of the costs of sacking a manager in the press recently you would
have thought club owners would think twice about sending their current choice on their way.
Sven-Goran Eriksson sacked by Leicester City Telegraph.
Leicester City today dismissed, or "agreed by mutual consent to part ways" depending on
which news source you trust, former England manager Sven Goran Eriksson after 12 months in charge
and after something close to $20m of player purchases had been flushed down the sewer.
Leicester City have confirmed the sacking (by mutual consent?) of former England manager Sven
Goran Eriksson after the Foxes won just two of their last seven games their latest defeat coming
against Millwall 3-0 at the week-end seemingly the result which broke the camels back so to speak.
And already former Foxes boss Martin O'Neill is favourite to take up the hotseat he left in 2000
for Celtic, with the Filbert Street Thai owners ready to spend whatever it takes to bring the Foxes
to a return to the promised land(Premier League).
The football was nothing to write home about in 2008-2009 but in terms of excitement and nerves,
it was one of the best seasons for years. As usual, we were fighting it out for the title, but this
time it was against our hated rivals, Liverpool.
United were a few matches behind everyone else at the turn of the year after taking time out to
compete in and win the FIFA World Club Cup.

Let me start by stating the views held below are entirely my own and in no way represent the
views of the site.
Anyone who has read my pre-matches over the seasons will know that I am not a huge fan of
Blackburn, I will go further and say that for many seasons they have represented all that is
reprehensible in football from top to bottom.

Liverpool might not have managed to sell Philipp Degen, however he's left the Reds.

Midfielder Tiago Mendes has signed a permanent deal with Atletico Madrid after his contract with
Juventus was terminated earlier on Wednesday.
Tiago's Juve deal was ended by mutual consent after the 30-year-old failed to make an impact in
Turin, and he has now begun a two-year contract at the Estadio Vicente Calderon where he had a
successful loan spell last season.
The Chelsea coaching turnstiles have churned once more.
The Blues have become somewhat notorious in recent years due to the high turnover rate at the
managerial position. Since Roman Abramovich took over the club in 2003, there have been
seven different Chelsea managers. That's seven managers in eight years, or a new manager
every 1.
The official confirmation has just been published, Gerard Houllier's tenure as manager of Aston
Villa is over. Here's the official statement:
AVFC Official Statement
The Club can confirm that, by mutual consent, Gerard Houllier has stepped down as manager of Aston
Villa with immediate effect.
Players come and go in the K-League, especially those from overseas. There is an incredibly high
turnover of playing staff in South Korea, teams can virtually change their entire starting elevens
from season to season.
Hiring players is not, of course, an exact science. Some succeed and some don't for a variety of
reasons.
So far in his managerial career, Mixu Paatelainen has employed a tested and true stage
performers mentality: always leave on a high note. How will that affect his tenure with
Finland?
Let's get one thing out of the way. Hiring Mixu Paatelainen was the only thing Palloliitto could
do.

In a very surprising move Bayern Munich have confirmed that coach Louis van Gaal will step down
at the end of the season. On a stateemt on the Bayern web site the German giants said that Van Gaal
will leave on 30 June by mutual consent. "The reason for the contract's cancellation is a
difference in opinion regarding the club's direction," the statement added.
RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil Roberto Carlos, Brazil's former World Cup-winning left back, joined Russian
soccer club Anzhi Makhachkala after leaving Corinthians by mutual consent. The 37-year-old signed a
2 1/2-year contract, Anzhi Makhachkala said on its website last night, without giving financial
details of the deal.
The Goalkeeper's Jonathan Tannenwald is reporting that Guatemalan newspaper Prensa Libre is
reporting that the Union are moving to sign Carlos Ruiz.

Rumors linking Ruiz to the Union surfaced last year as well, but no deal was ever worked
out.

Newcastle United have announced the signing of former Swansea frontman Shefki Kuqi on a
short-term deal until the end of the season.
Kuqi will now go straight into Newcastle's squad for Saturday's Premier League trip to Blackburn
(one of his 12 former clubs) to provide bare-bones cover for Nile Ranger, Peter Lovenkrands and
Leon Best.

Howard Webb, Steven Gerrard, and Manchester United ruined King Kenny Dalglish's return to the
Liverpool bench, the Reds bowing out of the FA Cup after their 1-0 loss at Old Trafford.
Regardless, the departure of Roy Hodgson from Anfield was the weekend's big news, the former
manager leaving the club by mutual consent on Saturday.
If there is one thing that the last few weeks of Roy Hodgson's time in charge of Liverpool
Football Club became notable for, it was the mass of contradiction that enveloped it. Hodgson was
the wrong man for the job at the wrong time, but the hysteria that seemed to engulf the club as the
team failed to find any consistency (they neither lost nor won more than two successive matches
under his stewardship) ensured that rational discussion was, broadly speaking, the first casualty
of the debate that ensued.
Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has left the club by mutual consent.
Hodgson, 63, won only seven of 20 Premier League games after taking over from Rafael Benitez in
July 2010 and led the club to 12th in the table.
Former player and manager Kenny Dalglish has been placed in charge until the end of the season.
According to Liverpool's official website, manager Roy Hodgson has left
Liverpool by mutual consent. Owner John Henry said,
"We are grateful for Roy's efforts over the past six months, but both parties thought it in the
best interests of the club that he stand down from his position as team manager.
"Dalglish told me that we're the ones who make people's dreams come true. The fans can't play, so
they live their dreams through us." - Fernando Torres
Dalglish in, Hodgson out. Finally. It's been a long, long wait.
It goes without saying, but from here on out, I'm done on the Hodgson vitriol.

In addition to our weekly football phrases, we sometimes feature football language that appears
in the media and today we look at some of the language connected to Roy Hodgson's dismissal from
his position as Liverpool's boss.
LIVERPOOL, England Former Liverpool defender Phil Thompson believes the "unprecedented" way the
club's fans had turned on manager Roy Hodgson was instrumental in his departure. Liverpool
announced that Hodgson had left the club by "mutual consent" with the Reds 12th in the Barclays
Premier League, just four points above the relegation zone.
Well good morning.
From the official site:
Liverpool FC confirmed today that manager Roy Hodgson has left the club by mutual consent.
Principal Owner John Henry commented: "We are grateful for Roy's efforts over the past six
months, but both parties thought it in the best interests of the club that he stand down from his
position as team manager.
