TONY FERNANDES: I'LL STAY EVEN IF RELEGATED
-Chairman Tony Fernandes tweeted yesterday that would stay with QPR even If relegated:
In response to the the Tweet "What Fans Would REALLY Like to Hear: That IF #QPR Do Go Down - You'll
Still be With Us Next Season" Tony Fernandes replied "If it happens I will be here and I'm sure all
the other will.
For the vast majority of people, the first days in February don't mean anything else apart from
bitterly cold weather – or scorching hot, depending on which side of the equator you wake up –
and a disheartening feeling deriving from the realization that summer holidays are still very far
away. For people that were [.
One of the few good things that have come from Manchester City's new found wealth, other than
their club genuinely aspiring to be and have everything their fans have criticised United for over
the past two decades, is Sir Alex Ferguson taking the derby seriously again.
For too long, whilst City were total shite, the manager seemed to lead our players in to that
game without the respect required for one of the most important days of the season for the
fans.
Sir Alex Ferguson calls on Manchester United fans to respect Liverpool
• 'Stop Hillsborough chants', says United's manager • 'Liverpool-United is the biggest game
of the season' Sir Alex Ferguson has called for Manchester United fans to respect Liverpool and
cease singing about the Hillsborough disaster.
Would visiting the Munich air crash site could stop vile chants for good?
I visited the site of the Munich air disaster yesterday. A delegation from Manchester City laid
a wreath there later to pay their respects to those who died when the plane carrying the Manchester
United team crashed on take-off in 1958.
One of the more dispiriting cycles in which an element of English football support finds itself
trapped reared its ugly head again last night. The unfailing of a flag with the word "Istanbul"
spray-painted across the middle of it was yet another example of the culture of perpetual abuse and
contempt that some seem to actively enjoy these days, and those of us that sit on the outside
peering in can only watch in wonder at the mentality of anybody that would seek to revel in the
death of anybody in the name of what passes for "banter" these days.

In April, the BBC showed a drama called "United" which was based on the Busby Babes leading up
to the Munich Air Disaster.
This will be released on DVD on August 8th and RoM has got two copies of it to give away.
Question: How many league titles did the Busby Babes win before Munich?
Just so you didn't think I forgot about you, it's the BBC film United, which from what I've heard
is a pretty good "based on real events" dramatization of Manchester United's Busby Babes and the
1958 Munich Air Disaster. The film is in 10 parts, below is the opener and you can follow it all
the way through the related videos.
Eddie Lewis, one of the original Busby Babes, has sadly lost his battle with cancer today. He
was born in Manchester in 1935 and played for Goslings before joining the Manchester United Junior
Athletic Club.
Lewis joined United in 1947 and made a total of 24 appearances, scoring 11 goals. He left United
for Preston and played for West Ham the season the Munich Air Disaster occurred.
The Mirror has the not too pleasant reaction from the likes of Sandy Busby and Harry Gregg to
the film about the Munich Air Disaster which will be shown on BBC 2 on Sunday.

BBC2 will be debuting a film on Sunday at 9pm GMT entitled "United." The film tells the true story
of the 1950′s Manchester United side and the 1958 Munich Air Disaster in which 23 people died.

Law, George Best and Cristiano Ronaldo). City players have won it zero times.
- When City won the league in the 1968, they had the 6th highest attendance in the country.

With Crawley set to play Manchester United in the fifth round of the FA Cup this weekend, a
gaggle of the club's supporters banded together to record a tribute song 'A Message To You, Rooney'
to commemorate the occasion.
However, the fairly good-humoured atmosphere was spoiled when it came to light that one of the
Crawley fans that appeared in the video had spent most of his time making 'aeroplane' gestures in
reference to the 1958 Munich Air disaster that killed 23 of United's players and staff.

Manchester City fans have written 'Munich' in sky blue spray paint outside the Bishop's Blaize
down the road from the ground as well as on the walls of our Carrington training ground.
This shouldn't come as any surprise after some United fans used red spray paint to vandalise
City's match day pub, Mary D's, with "35 years" and "Foe cunts" (in reference to former Manchester
City footballer, Marc-Vivien Foe, who died in 2003).
A moment of repose before the big day ahead.
6th February 1958.
A plane crashes on a runway in Munich. 23 of the 44 passengers die, including eight Manchester
United
players.
Among them was Duncan Edwards. It is football's tragedy that we will never know the player he could
have been:
Is it possible that Duncan Edwards was really that good?
