pThe Missouri Southern Lion#8217;s women#8217;s soccer team is hosting a 7v7 tourney for a
fundraiser later this month. It is an open adult event for 18 and up. Start time and exact format
will be determined by number of teams, though if there is a large response we will have to limit to
first come first served to get to a playoff to determine a champion.

A Missouri Southern State University soccer player died Sunday night after collapsing on the
court during an intramural basketball game on the campus, according to a release from the
university's sports information director.
Jon Hansen, 22, of Wichita, Kan., was pronounced dead at 9 p.m. Sunday.

Southwest Baptist Bearcats won both of their MIAA matches this weekend. On
Thursday they traveled to Emporia State where they won 3-1.
On Saturday, they went to Joplin where they dismantled the MSSU Lions, 6- 1. SBU's Rhiane
Mitchell, who entered the week at the very top of the NCAA's points and goals leader board, scored
three goals and recorded one assist.

The Missouri Southern Lions played host to their new neighbor, the Crowder College Roughriders,
on Friday night with an exhibition soccer game played on the artificial surface at the football
stadium. The score, 2-0 for the Lions, reflected the difference between the programs with the
Junior College team visiting a Division 2 school.

The Springfield Demize held a raucous Spring Exhibition match against the Tony
Glavin-led St Louis Lions on Saturday evening at the Cooper Soccer Complex. The
game score was 4-2 in favor of the Demize when I left around 7:30pm when my camera batteries
finally expired after attending four games Saturday.
