Alright, here is what we know from various media sources. Tyler Deric and Warren Creavalle were
both arrested on Saturday night outside the Roosevelt Lounge. Deric was charged with assaulting a
public servant (an off-duty police officer) and Creavalle was accused of interfering with public
duties (interfering with the officer).
"I never knew that music like that was possible!"
After watching the second half of yesterday's Clasico, I'm beginning to see Mourinho as Salieri
to Guardiola's Mozart. When a team of Madrid's caliber gets schooled and forced into errant passes
and frantic individual dribbles on offense and desperate tackles on defense, huffing shadow-chasing
and hapless outreached hands pleading for offside calls that won't come, the opposition must be
touched by the divine; the divine stringing of passes, la pelota always kept just a
fleeting inch away from Madrid's lunging cleats, and importantly, the divine total defense, which
at one point saw Özil attempting to dribble into the box only to be surrounded by seven (7!
The second half onslaught was exhilarating but not quite enough to regain the two points that
another freakish goal had taken away.
Arsene did rotate some of the players. Djourou came in for Coquelin, Rosicky for Ramsey, and
Benayoun for Walcott. It was a strong team and one that should have secured the win with relative
ease.

There's Robin van Persie. And then there's the rest.
As expected, it was a hard fought game with diligent opponents crowding the midfield and the
space in front of their defence. And they hardly offered any threat from open play.
The start was a bit of a pleasant surprise though. Van Persie put Arsenal ahead within 30
seconds of the start.
There has been some media rumbling about the supposed strained relationship between Schalke
coach Ralf Rangnick (pressing, quick transitions, running) and Schalke striker Raul (icon, legend,
artist). Saturday's 5-1 thrashing of Cologne probably offered the best of both worlds. And after
looking at Raul's umpteenth chipped beauty that made it 4-1, you might agree with fromer Frankfurt
striker turned TV pundit Jan Åge Fjørtoft, who tweeted:
#schalke coach ragnick said #raul is not running enough.
With the last game out of the way and a football-free summer upon us (unless you get turned on
by the Under 21s), I thought it might be a good idea to examine our season through the prism of the
headlines that have accompanied the daily post here on Arsenal Arsenal.
With a new post every day and a long season, I'm breaking it up into sections, starting today
with August, September and October.
Hello there, it doesn't really feel like summer's upon us yet despite the raft of transfer
stories that abound. I blame the lack of sunshine. And summer breeze. The jasmine of my mind needs
a good blowing through.
Let's start with possible ins. Today's main story is about Karim Benzema and some quotes from
Arsene Wenger about the player.
First of all, why are they called "under-21 teams" when they are really "21-and-under teams" or
"under-22 teams"? I know I'm not the first to ask, but still, I'm asking. And Andy Carroll isn't
even under 22: he is 22. This highly official page lists forty players, of which only
thirteen are actually, you know, under 21.
I had mixed feelings after this one. The primary one was exasperation. But I also saw a team of
players who haven't played together work hard and play with the right attitude. It's not easy to
play the Arsenal way with so many of the starting eleven being non-regulars.
For large parts of the game Arsenal went forward and controlled the game without really creating
gilt-edged chances.
From Barcelona to Leyton Orient ... Hmmm. If I'm honest, I find this fixture a bit
underwhelming. No disrespect to the League One side because I fully acknowledge the possibility of
an upset if the Gunners don't turn up at their best. But the game against Barcelona was one that
had been in my mind for a long while.
Ahh, there is nothing like the FA Cup for a bit of spice is there?
Anyone expecting Leeds to just show up and enjoy the experience of the Emirates were having a
laugh. I have seen a couple of Leeds' games this season and they are a more than decent unit (their
unbeaten run was only stopped by Cardiff in midweek).
