Wesley Sneijder has been linked with Manchester United in the past few days, and not for the
first time. The Dutchman has continuously been linked with Manchester United for the best part of
two seasons but each time the move was apparently close to completion something cropped up an
prevented it from being finalized.
Queens Park Rangers apparently can't afford Alex. Paris Saint-Germain, meanwhile, certainly can.
I guess that solves that then, in my skewed mind at least.
A reunion?
The protracted transfer of Alex away from Chelsea drags on.
News today arrives in two parts.
Inter Milan moved up to fifth place in Serie A and within 3 points of a UEFA Champions League place
after a superb 5-0 win over Parma at the San Siro with Diego Milito in particular standing out. The
Argentine scored twice with further goals by Thiago Motta, Giampaolo Pazzini and Marco Faraoni
sealing a [.

Though this is starting to become a cliched opening line, I am sorry. It seems that a few lines
in my most recent offering have deeply offended vast swathes of our friends at the Juventus
Offside.
Goals by Thiago Motta and a superb strike by Coutinho helped Inter Milan bag a much needed 2-1 win
over Cagliari. The win was the former champions' first victory in three matches and moves Claudio
Ranieiri's men up to 16th in the Serie A table on 11 points; ten behind neighbours AC Milan (who
were [.

Oi oi, what's going on here then? We're not quite sure if this is 'not what it looks like' or
'exactly what it looks like' but it appears that Thiago Motta may have picked Mario Balotelli's
sun-ripened plums and taken them to the Farmer's Market during Italy training yesterday.
Well, well, what do we have here... Alberto Aquilani finally over the moon for
Kevin-Prince Boateng, of course! The only name the Rossoneri should be
chanting at breakfast, lunch and dinner today is 'Boateng' because his second-half hat-trick
yesterday led them to 4-3 win over Lecce yesterday.

In football, truth and fact are often two very different things. While the ‘high ground' of
passing, flowing football is admirable to most fans, the bottom line is what really matters at the
end of the day. Fighting the good fight, only to lose, is nothing but glorious failure, honorable
defeat, and worthless in the sands of time.
Heck is Not Wasting TimeWhen the Red Bulls replaced General Manager Erik Stover with
longtime NBA executive Chris Heck a few weeks ago, it was a signal that an era had ended. Stover, a
specialist in stadium operations, was the right man to lead the club through the transition from
East Rutherford to Harrison, but perhaps not the right person to take the club forward as a
legitimate force on the New York sports scene.
The focus of the football world is Samir Nasri. The little mercurial midfield maestro, who was
proclaimed the little Zidane is the centre of a massive tug of war.
Nasri has not signed a new contract, he says money is not the route of the dispute, Arsenal have
offered £90,000 as week and Nasri wants in the region of £110,000 a week.
Alberto Aquilani has withdrawn from the Italy squad after picking up a head injury in the 3-0 win
over Estonia.
The midfielder was replaced in the first half of the Euro 2012 qualifier in Modena on Friday
evening.
Aquilani, who has just completed the season on loan at Juventus from Liverpool, was sent to
hospital for tests but returned with the rest of the squad to Florence late last night.

Thiago Motta and Cassano celebrating Italy's goal
As this international friendly week has rolled around, I'm doing my best to follow nations as they
struggle to qualify for the European Chuampionships of 2012. But struggle isnt really the proper
term for some nations, as Italy and Spain, are one step closer to the Euruopean tournament.

Weekend Six Pack Slaying Dragons and dancing to the Samba beat is a post from: Just Football
Each week Rob Hartnett from 188BET.com will bring you six of the best football betting
opportunities from the weekend action. Rob is the public face of leading the leading In Play
betting specialists and appears regularly on the Bolton, Wigan, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Liverpool and
Everton websites doing betting previews.
There's quite a bit to look forward to today, even without calcio this weekend. Cesare Prandelli
and Italy will play in two games as Italy look to return to a superpower. The Offside podcasts have
been updated as well and feature some great new content.
There's no Serie A action this week as European leagues take a break for some international
football.
After Milan's and Roma's eliminations from Europe's top flight competition, the peninsula looks
solely to the nerazzurri to fly the Italian flag. The club finds itself in the same position as its
crosstown rivals did against the Spurs, going into the second leg with a 1-0 home loss to
overcome.
Bayern Munich will not be an easy opponent if this past weekend is any indication, as they
thumped Hamburger SV 6-0 at home.
Roma are refusing to let the race for fourth place go down to two teams. By defeating Lazio over
the weekend, Vincenzo Montella has hit out at his critics and continued one of the brightest trends
of Claudio Ranieri's reign- a spotless derby record. I Lupi's run of consecutive victories over
Lazio now stands at five in Serie A, one more than the number of points they find themselves off
the pace for fourth.
Abhinav's Note: Don't get me wrong, but I'm pretty tired of reading so much about
Arsenal being ousted in an unjust manner at the Camp Nou. Sport is a great leveller, and
trust me on this everything evens out itself in the end. There was so much else that happened in
that match.

It has been a fantastic January transfer window for the Serie A. While AC Milan signed the two
Dutchmen (Mark van Bommel and Emanuelson), Inter Milan went out and did some business of their own.
Leonardo got three big presents from the president Massimo Moratti: Andrea Ranocchia, Houssine
Kharja, and Giampaolo Pazzini.

Calcio Thoughts is back with it's first edition of the New Year! It's been a long time since the
last one, and the questions might be a little dated, but I'll provide the most current answer to
the best of my abilities. If you have a calcio question, comment, thought, or anything you'd like

During the winter break Serie A fans got to contemplate many things. How will Cassano do at AC
Milan? What new signings will we see in the January transfer window? And how will Leonardo do at
Inter Milan? The last question seems to be a little clearer after Leonardo made his debut on Inter
Milan's bench in their 3-1 win against Napoli.

A Man of the Match performance from Thiago Motta led Inter to an impressive home win over
Napoli. With a new coach, and new shiny Club World Cup winners badge on their shirts, it was also
a new attitude from the home team.
