No one could have ever imagined the impact Victor Moses would have on the Chelsea team so quickly after signing for us at the beginning of the season.

If anything, Chelsea have been pigeoned holed into playing the 4-2-3-1 formation and after a slow start, Moses has become an almost integral part of our starting eleven next to Juan Mata and Eden Hazard.

I have to say before Rafa Benitez turned up, most of the talk about Chelsea was one of two things. Firstly the amount of goals we had conceded and how open we had been at the back and secondly, the combination of Mata, Hazard and Oscar - MAZACAR.

The attacking threat Chelsea have is immense compared to other teams and we all spent our time raving about finally having the entertaining football that Roman Abramovich has craved in all these years.

A very wet Elland Road hosted Leeds and Chelsea on Wednesday evening in a Capital One Cup showdown that would see the winner through to the semi-finals. Leeds jumped out to an early start after the half hour mark through Luciano Becchio but were unable to hold on to that lead through the ninety minutes.

Rafa Benitez faces another important test in his young Chelsea career as his side take on Nordsjælland in the final day of the Champions League group stage tonight. The Blues will require a win in their own match to allow qualification to the knockout stages, as well as the result to go their way in the Juventus/Shakhtar Donetsk match.

If you missed last night's match at Stamford Bridge then you really missed something special. Despite a convincing performance, Shakhtar Donetsk fell to a late Victor Moses goal, which secured all three points for Chelsea. Both teams played remarkably well and the match was a true testament to how exciting the Champions League has become.

Now everyone is back in training and with the season being back in full swing now, it will be more than interesting to see RDM's team selection tomorrow afternoon. Let's not forget, Chelsea start their defence of the Champions League in midweek against Juventus and I just wonder if RDM has THAT game in mind as he makes his final decision as to who starts tomorrow.

Chelsea have taken their summer spending past the £80million mark as Roman Abramovich has obviously been reinvigorated after winning the Champions League last season.

On Friday, Chelsea sealed the £7m capture of Spanish right back Cesar Azpilicueta, 22, from Marseille on Friday and finalised the £9m transfer of Wigan forward Victor Moses after he passed a medical.

Just a quicky to let y'all know that Chelsea have just confirmed that they have completed the signing of Spanish right-back Cesar Azpilicueta (Ath-peely-kway-ter) from Marseille for the princely sum of £7 million, with the former Osasuna man signing a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

Despite a rather iffy performance in the Community Shield last week, Chelsea new-boy Eden Hazard showed exactly what he's made of at the DW Stadium on Sunday.

Liverpool remain keen to sign Theo Walcott from Arsenal, despite being unable to make progress on the deal all summer.
Reports suggest new Reds boss Brendan Rodgers wants to add pace and width to his new-look Anfield squad and the England international fits the bill.
He has been linked with a move for the ex-Southampton man for several weeks, but the fact no deal has yet been done is not putting Rodgers off.

Nicks' note: Here's Krish, our fast-becoming-resident Chelsea scribe, penning down some thoughts on what he expects from Chelsea's campaign, and the potential season-defining matches they'll have to go through. He has Arsenal down as title contenders, bless him. That's gone and jinxed it nice and proper.

Arguably the biggest mistake of our summer was to let Romelu Lukaku leave on loan this season. With Danny Sturridge struggling with injuries and form, Fernando Torres stepping out from behind the shadow of Didier Drogba was finally given the chance to be our main man and things haven't played out as we would have liked.

The most exciting part of the teams framework is the attacking three who support the main striker. These guys have a job to do in both halves of the pitch and the defensive aspect of the game is as important as their work going forward.

We saw the combination of Mata, Hazard and Oscar (MAZACAR) under Di Matteo flourish at the beginning of the season with everyone (including me) raving about them.

As we all know, Chelsea have to register 25 players and no more ahead of the new season for the Premier League and Champions League competitions but we have a problem. At the moment with our new signings, promotions and returning loan players, we have 31 players in our first team squad.

Remembering that although he is listed as part of our squad, Patrick Van Aanholt has already been loaned out this season with Vitesse again.

Chelsea have had plenty of coverage on their summer signings haven't they. We wake up every day to read even more coverage of two more potential signings as RDM oversees Roman Abramovich's second revolution of the club.

With Victor Moses being touted as making the move to Chelsea before the window closes and a bid for Cesar Azpilicueta following that, Chelsea would have signed SEVEN new players which takes us back to the 2003-2004 season when Roman Abramovich first took over the club.

Southampton 0-2 Wigan Athletic Premier League 25 August 2012

Playing in their first home game in the top tier in seven seasons, the Saints were looking to give their fans something to celebrate. However, an impressive display by visitors Wigan spoiled the party and gave Roberto Martinez's side a deserved victory.

Looks like Moses is on his way to Chelsea finally with Wigan Athletic announcing that they've accepted a bid from the West London club at the fourth time of asking. Victor Moses will now sit down with Chelsea to discuss personal terms.

Personally I feel he could have done with a few more years at the club in order to develop, I can't see him featuring too heavily with Chelsea and when playing at his age you need as many games as possible to develop further.

Now if you were to ask Chelsea fans you know about Scott Sinclair at the time he left Chelsea, you would of had divided opinion. Some could understand why he left because of the same old problem of the youth players not being given a chance and some would say that he wasn't good enough at the time.

Victor Moses will finally sign for Chelsea this week in a deal worth around £9m after Wigan's Dave Whelan finally decided to let the player go.

Now for regular readers of my blog, you will know that when it comes to Moses, I am not 100% certain this is a good deal. I mean no disrespect to Moses as a person or a player in any way, I am just thinking that there are other "natural" wide players out there that Chelsea should be going for.
