No one could have ever imagined the impact Victor Moses would have on the Chelsea team so quickly after signing for us at the beginning of the season.
If anything, Chelsea have been pigeoned holed into playing the 4-2-3-1 formation and after a slow start, Moses has become an almost integral part of our starting eleven next to Juan Mata and Eden Hazard.
Being a cameraman at top level football can't be easy given the pace of the game. But the situation isn't helped by pesky so-and-so's like Victor Moses who insist on jumping out of shot all the time. The cameraman at Chelsea vs Southampton's FA Cup third round clash thought he was perfectly placed to capture [.
I have to say before Rafa Benitez turned up, most of the talk about Chelsea was one of two things. Firstly the amount of goals we had conceded and how open we had been at the back and secondly, the combination of Mata, Hazard and Oscar - MAZACAR.
The attacking threat Chelsea have is immense compared to other teams and we all spent our time raving about finally having the entertaining football that Roman Abramovich has craved in all these years.
A very wet Elland Road hosted Leeds and Chelsea on Wednesday evening in a Capital One Cup showdown that would see the winner through to the semi-finals. Leeds jumped out to an early start after the half hour mark through Luciano Becchio but were unable to hold on to that lead through the ninety minutes.
Chelsea golea al Monterrey, equipo representante de la Concacaf por 3 a 1 con goles de Mata, Torres, autogol de Chávez. Por Monterrey anotó Aldo de Nigris.
Chelsea (4-2-3-1): Cech (c); Azpilcueta, Ivanovic, Cahill, Cole; Mikel, David Luiz (Lampard 62); Mata (Ferreira 73), Oscar, Hazard; Torres (Moses 78).
Rafa Benitez faces another important test in his young Chelsea career as his side take on Nordsjælland in the final day of the Champions League group stage tonight. The Blues will require a win in their own match to allow qualification to the knockout stages, as well as the result to go their way in the Juventus/Shakhtar Donetsk match.
If you missed last night's match at Stamford Bridge then you really missed something special. Despite a convincing performance, Shakhtar Donetsk fell to a late Victor Moses goal, which secured all three points for Chelsea. Both teams played remarkably well and the match was a true testament to how exciting the Champions League has become.
Now everyone is back in training and with the season being back in full swing now, it will be more than interesting to see RDM's team selection tomorrow afternoon. Let's not forget, Chelsea start their defence of the Champions League in midweek against Juventus and I just wonder if RDM has THAT game in mind as he makes his final decision as to who starts tomorrow.
Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo has vowed to take the UEFA Super Cup seriously, stressing that
he'll be playing his big names in the pursuit of another trophy. Chelsea enter the competition as
defending Champions League winners, and will go up against Europa League victors Atletico
Madrid.
The match takes place on Friday in Monaco, and the Blues enter it in fine form after three
successive Premier League wins.
Chelsea have taken their summer spending past the £80million mark as Roman Abramovich has
obviously been reinvigorated after winning the Champions League last season.
On Friday, Chelsea sealed the £7m capture of Spanish right back Cesar Azpilicueta, 22, from
Marseille on Friday and finalised the £9m transfer of Wigan forward Victor Moses after he passed a
medical.
Just a quicky to let y'all know that Chelsea have just confirmed that they have completed the
signing of Spanish right-back Cesar Azpilicueta (Ath-peely-kway-ter) from Marseille for the
princely sum of £7 million, with the former Osasuna man signing a five-year deal at Stamford
Bridge.
One could not have asked for a better opening fixture. It was the perfect opportunity to
formally announce our title ambitions. Ryan Bertrand started in midfield ahead of Ramires who did
not travel to Wigan because of an injury concern. Chelsea teased us with the possibility of a
Wigan rout in the opening minutes.

Despite a rather iffy performance in the Community Shield last week, Chelsea new-boy Eden Hazard
showed exactly what he's made of at the DW Stadium on Sunday.
Liverpool remain keen to sign Theo Walcott from Arsenal, despite being unable to make progress on
the deal all summer.
Reports suggest new Reds boss Brendan Rodgers wants to add pace and width to his new-look Anfield
squad and the England international fits the bill.
He has been linked with a move for the ex-Southampton man for several weeks, but the fact no deal
has yet been done is not putting Rodgers off.
Nicks' note:Here's Krish, our fast-becoming-resident Chelsea
scribe, penning down some thoughts on what he expects from Chelsea's campaign, and the potential
season-defining matches they'll have to go through. He has Arsenal down as title contenders, bless
him. That's gone and jinxed it nice and proper.
Chelsea are approaching the subscribing of Wigan forrard Victor Moses after eminent-grade talks
between the clubhouses.

Arguably the biggest mistake of our summer was to let Romelu Lukaku leave on loan this season. With Danny Sturridge struggling with injuries and form, Fernando Torres stepping out from behind the shadow of Didier Drogba was finally given the chance to be our main man and things haven't played out as we would have liked.
The most exciting part of the teams framework is the attacking three who support the main striker. These guys have a job to do in both halves of the pitch and the defensive aspect of the game is as important as their work going forward.
We saw the combination of Mata, Hazard and Oscar (MAZACAR) under Di Matteo flourish at the beginning of the season with everyone (including me) raving about them.
After Victor's Drogba-Esq header against Shaktar in the Champions League, he has been the name on many football fan's lips, everyone has had their say about what they think of our £9m man. Although arguably none know him better than his former manager Roberto Martinez, who heaped praise upon the Nigerian international.
Chelsea have sold and loaned out Raul Meireles and Michael Essien and I get the impression that
quite a few Chelsea fans are asking why?.
I admit, I was surprised to see the Meirles story break and for then for the deal worth £8m to be
concluded fairly quickly especially after Chelsea loaned Michael Essien to Real Madrid.
I couldn't help but think to myself watching the Brighton v Chelsea disaster at the weekend,
that Eden Hazard doesn't want to be playing out on the left wing does he?. How many times did we
see him come inside and even at one stage, pop up on the right wing!.
I just wonder if our left hand side is going to be the real problem this season?
Ever since Ron Gourlay was quoted after Chelsea returned from their pre season tour of America, the
press as usual, have gone into overdrive.
Chelsea, ever since Roman Abramovich took over, have been linked with all sorts of players in every
single transfer window and it's pretty much become the "norm".
As we all know, Chelsea have to register 25 players and no more ahead of the new season for the
Premier League and Champions League competitions but we have a problem. At the moment with our new
signings, promotions and returning loan players, we have 31 players in our first team squad.
Remembering that although he is listed as part of our squad, Patrick Van Aanholt has already been
loaned out this season with Vitesse again.
Sitting in the stands on Saturday against Stoke, after seeing RDM's decision to play Hazard, Mata and Oscar from the start, you can imagine my excitement as I took my seat.
Chelsea fans had been calling out for all three to be given a start especially after Oscar's two goal haul against Juventus.
Chelsea take on Atletico Madrid tonight in Monaco in the UEFA Super Cup and this is one we all want
to win. After winning the Champions League last term, we have the Super Cup and the World Club Cup
to fight for this season and make no mistake, RDM and the Chelsea boys want both these titles!.
First up tonight is Madrid and they are an impressive side.
Chelsea have had plenty of coverage on their summer signings haven't they. We wake up every day to
read even more coverage of two more potential signings as RDM oversees Roman Abramovich's second
revolution of the club.
With Victor Moses being touted as making the move to Chelsea before the window closes and a bid for
Cesar Azpilicueta following that, Chelsea would have signed SEVEN new players which takes us back
to the 2003-2004 season when Roman Abramovich first took over the club.
Southampton 0-2 Wigan Athletic Premier League 25 August 2012
Playing in their first home game in the top tier in seven seasons, the Saints were looking to
give their fans something to celebrate. However, an impressive display by visitors Wigan spoiled
the party and gave Roberto Martinez's side a deserved victory.
Looks like Moses is on his way to Chelsea finally with Wigan Athletic announcing that they've
accepted a bid from the West London club at the fourth time of asking. Victor Moses will now sit
down with Chelsea to discuss personal terms.
Personally I feel he could have done with a few more years at the club in order to develop, I
can't see him featuring too heavily with Chelsea and when playing at his age you need as many games
as possible to develop further.
Now if you were to ask Chelsea fans you know about Scott Sinclair at the time he left Chelsea, you
would of had divided opinion. Some could understand why he left because of the same old problem of
the youth players not being given a chance and some would say that he wasn't good enough at the
time.
Maurice Edu's move to Stoke City is not complete yet, but Rangers manager Ally McCoist confirmed
that the move is still in the works.
"I'm led to believe the Maurice Edu transfer to Stoke is still ongoing," McCoist told Sky
Sports. "If and when that happens, he will go with our best wishes, but I don't think there has
been anything concrete done with that at the moment.
Yesterday it was announced by Wigan that they have accepted Chelsea's FIFTH offer of around £9m
for Victor Moses and the player is now free to discuss personal terms and speak with us.
I will be honest, for me the jury is out with Moses. It's obvious he has talent, has age on his
side and has come on leaps and bounds by playing regular first team football at Wigan.
Hey guys. Us here at The Arsenal Offside have done a bit of a prediction for the season ahead.
It was going to go up last week before the season actually started, but sadly I got distracted and
wrote about some guy who decided to do what some little boy told him to and moved to Manchester
United. What gives?
Victor Moses will finally sign for Chelsea this week in a deal worth around £9m after Wigan's Dave
Whelan finally decided to let the player go.
Now for regular readers of my blog, you will know that when it comes to Moses, I am not 100%
certain this is a good deal. I mean no disrespect to Moses as a person or a player in any way, I am
just thinking that there are other "natural" wide players out there that Chelsea should be going
for.
Well it looks like Gael Kakuta will get his wish to be given a chance after all but it won't be at
Chelsea!.
Kakuta is being lined up as part of a deal that would bring 22 year old Spanish right back César
Azpilicueta to Stamford Bridge after Chelsea had made a "serious approach" for the player.
Throughout the 2010 World Cup in South Africa there were calls to ban the vuvuzela, primarily because of the ear drum-persecuting drone that they insist upon. Now there's an even more pressing reason to cork the plastic horns one has been used to assault a match official! The sour note happened in the first [.
Nigeria's Africa Cup of Nations squad will be offered a week of free sex if they bring the trophy home. An organisation representing the country's sex workers says Chelsea star Victor Moses and his team-mates will be entitled to freebies for a week providing they win the tournament. Jessica Elvis, national secretary of the [.
Roberto Di Matteo said in his press conference yesterday that he doesn't think anyone will leave
the club in this transfer window but I disagree. Yossi Benayoun begs to differ with comments he
made recently.
He said:
"I will announce something soon on my future as I am taking time on my decision and
want to make the right one,"
I do think that Benayoun would act as squad cover for one of our three attacking midfield positions
but it's obvious that someone of his experience would want first team football.
