I've been waiting for a video of this to surface since Tuesday night, in so far as it was the
only slight sliver of a shred of commiseration we Forest fans were able to take from the night.
Burnley won 2-0. Rodriguez scored them both.
Anyway, with the score at 1-0, the man they call 'Jay Rod' up around Turf Moor way stepped up
and performed a timely homage to John Terry's infamously spunked Moscow spot-kick which proved to
be the only highlight of the game from a Forest perspective.

Russia missed the World Cup, but they did Write the Future
The 2010 World Cup seems like ancient history as we enter 2012, but hidden gems need to be
uncovered. Remember that "Write the Future" advertising campaign? Well, Russian graphic artist Aske
(aka Sicksystems) created two football-related pieces of art to capture the interest of the Russian
market.

The draw for the Champions League 2011-12 1/16th play-off took place today with the following
pairings:AC Milan-ArsenalNapoli-ChelseaCSKA Moscow-Real MadridApoel Nicosia-Olympique
LyonBasel-Bayern MunichBenfica-Zenit St. PetersburgFC Barcelona-Bayer LeverkusenOlympique
Marseille-Inter MilanSome very interesting matches indeed!
This morning Chelsea have been drawn against in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League. The rest
of the draw is as follows:
Lyon v APOEL
Napoli v CHELSEA
Milan v Arsenal
Basel v Bayern
Leverkusen v Barcelona
CSKA Moscow v Real Madrid
Zenit v Benfica
Marseille v Inter
Now for me it's a tough draw but our experience should see us through.
On a chilly evening in Brussels, Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht turned the heat up on Kokomotiv
Moscow as five different players scored in the 5-3 win.
On another night of drama in the Champions League Lyon, Basel and Napoli all moved onto the
round of 16, while last season's beaten finalist Manchester United was sent to the Europa
League.
The most unlikely team to progress to the knock stages was Lyon, who needed Ajax to lose at home
to Real Madrid while they beat Dinamo Zagreb and overturned a seven-goal
deficit.

Lille beat CSKA Moscow 2-0 in the Champions League last night, with Vasili Berezutski getting
the ball rolling for the French side when the Russian centre-half hooked a delightful chip over
his own 'keeper to give Lille the lead...
The excellence of execution.
Straight on at the traffic lights in Moscow Central. Well the boys finally ran out of road, sank
without trace and hit the buffers in the Europa. Actually that's a metaphor too far because it
wasn't quite a train wreck although without Cudocini's performance it might, from a distance, have
looked like one.
In a week with countless transfer rumours flying around the Emirates, the potential Arsenal
interest in young Russian sensation Alan Dzagoev is another to add to the list. The 21 year-old
CSKA Moscow attacking midfielder has scored 3 goals this season, with his club sitting comfortably
in second place.

At 23 years old Seydou Doumbia managed to impress many big clubs around the world with his skill

Vyacheslav Malafeev must feel a little sheepish when he looks at his latest Russian cap. For the
32-year-old barely deserved it.
That isn't a slight on his efforts, but merely a reflection on the game against Ireland, which
saw the home side attack for the entire 90 minutes, meaning Malafeev could have had a little sleep
and still kept a clean sheet.

As well as playing like a complete defensive uber-goliath and having to take to the
field in a homemade shirt during the latter stages of Ireland's qually against Russia in Moscow
last night, Richard Dunne also had the misfortune of doing smacking his face into the metal
drainage grid that surrounds the plaggy pitch at the Luzhniki after clattering through Yuri Zhirkov
on the touchline.

The real, tragic consequences of the collapse of the Celtic Tiger were all too apparent in
Moscow on Tuesday night, as Republic of Ireland captain Richard Dunne was forced to wear a
number-less replacement shirt after his No. 5 shirt was decimated in a challenge with Yuri
Zhirkov.
Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni saluted Richard Dunne and Shay Given for their heroic performances
in a precious 0-0 draw in Moscow.
Dunne produced two superb blocks and ended the game with four stitches in a head wound as Ireland
managed to cling on for their first ever point in Russia.

Ireland captain Robbie Keane has admitted Tomorrow's Euro 2012 qualifier with Russia is a
game 'The Boys In Green' cannot afford to lose if they are to maintain hopes of qualifying for the

Giovanni Trapattoni's side were held by Slovakia last Friday in a disappointing performance in the

Sir Bobby Charlton has today claimed he thinks Wayne Rooney can break his goalscoring record for
Manchester United.
Our legend saw his appearances record broken by Ryan Giggs during the 2008 European Cup final in
Moscow, but has still scored 98 more goals than any other player in the history of our club.
Of late, it seems that Chelsea fans are beginning to question the role Frank Lampard has in the
side at the moment as being honest we haven't seen Frank at anywhere near his best so far this
season.
As you can imagine with news that Frank Lampard was on the bench for England's 3-0 win over
Bulgaria last night, the knives have come out for him regarding his England career.
This Friday, Russia could take a two point lead if they defeat Macedonia in Moscow and Ireland
draws with Slovakia in Dublin. With this scenario Russia will move into first place with 16 points
ahead of Slovakia and Ireland with 14 points. This is of course one of many scenarios [read

New Anzhi Makhachkala signing Samuel Eto'o has made an instant impact for his new club by
scoring the equalizer in a 1-1 draw away at FK Rostov.
The signing of the Cameroonian international has raised many eyebrows throughout the world of
football especially given the huge wages that he is reported to be earning, something akin to 20
million euros a year.

Pardon?
Yes, you heard it correctly, Kickettes. Samuel Eto'o, striker extraordinaire and purveyor of
these thighs has left Inter Milan and signed what could be described as a 'lucrative' three year
contract with Russian Premier League side Anzhi Makhachkala.

Is it "so long and thanks for the goal in Moscow" to Yuri Zhirkov?
Reports in Russia are claiming that Zhirkov arrived this morning and has signed with FC Anji for
15 million Euros. Nothing is on either club's website yet, though.
Zhirkov's Chelsea career hasn't exactly been sparkling, given he has often fallen into the
Alex-esque injury mire where he disappears for periods of time with no one explaining exactly
why.
One of the main stories that broke over the weekend was about Ashley Cole and his "desire" to
finish his career in Spain. The Daily Mail ran this article quoting a "source close to the
footballer" who said:
'Ashley has told friends he sees his future abroad and he wants to persuade [ex-wife]
Cheryl to come with him.
After three consecutive tough matchups against Moscow powerhouses, Eugene Starikov and crew will
look to take all three points when strugglers Rostov visit the Trud Stadium on Wednesday.
Eugene Starikov once again went the distance for Tomsk, though the Siberians were soundly beaten by
their high-powered hosts in Moscow.
Eugene Starikov played the full 90 as Tomsk snatched a last minute equalizer against Moscow giants
Spartak on Tuesday.
Patrice Evra signed a new deal with United after offers from top clubs all around Europe came in
for him.
Evra has revealed that it is his feeling for the club that kept him around.
"It was an important decision for myself. I love this club, everyone knows that," Evra
told the official site.
Eugene Starikov made his third consecutive start as Tomsk shared the points with their visitors
from Moscow in the Trud Stadium.
Eugene Starikov and Tomsk will look to regain their winning ways when they welcome Lokomotiv Moscow
to the Trud Stadium on Friday.
While the book makers have Barcelona the favorites, I for one "believe" that United will make us
proud in the Champions League final. This is the mosaic from the 2008 Champions League in Moscow
and it brings back good memory for any United fan. Glory Glory Man United.
It seems like yesterday that Roy Jones Jr. was the pound-for-pound king of the boxing world.
Now, well past his prime, Roy Jones Jr. is a joke. Boxing in Moscow, Jones was dominated by a
Russian by the name of Denis Lebedev. You can watch the Roy Jones Jr. video below to see him get
owned by the Russian.
