Nem Itaquerão, nem Morumbi, muito menos Mineirão ou Estádio Nacional de Brasília. A Copa do
Mundo de 2014 começará em cidade praiana, com sol, calor, clima tropical, música e gente
bronzeada na arquibancada. Mas não é no Brasil. E já tem seu pontapé inicial marcado para esta
quarta-feira (15), s 19h de Brasília.

Perhaps Luis Fabiano is a not quite Darius Vassell. Perhaps Brazil is a tiny bit football mad.
Perhaps Sao Paulo has reason to celebrate.
But "tens of thousands"? For Luis Fabiano? A very, very good player, but he's not quite the
creme de la creme of the footballing crop. Not Ronaldinho, not Ronaldo, not really.
The recent rains and flooding in Brazil had an interesting impact on the national sport, football,
when a 70 minute delay to the start of a São Paulo - Palmeiras match led to bored fans turning
Morumbi Stadium into a swimming pool. The match ultimately ended in a 1-1 draw.
Lucas Moura with mum and dad
São Paulo's teenage sensation, Lucas Moura, has renewed his contract with the Morumbi club. The
new deal runs until December 2012 and Lucas is expected to earn around €50,000 per month – an
increase of around tenfold on his current wage. São Paulo have also written in a buyout clause of
€80 million (£67 million), which dwarfs that of Santos pair Neymar (€45 million) and Paulo
Henrique Ganso (€50 million).
Lucas Piazon
Premier League side Chelsea are reported to be eyeing São Paulo U17 player, Lucas Piazon. Inter
Milan are also interested in the forward who turns 17 later this month. Piazon is seen as one of
the Morumbi club's best prospects in years and is expected to make his professional debut this
season.
