Have you noticed that Joey Barton is expressing his musical preferences through head and facial
furniture lately ? The Morrissey fetish (and illustrative quiff) has been crushed beneath the
weight of his Beatles back catalogue, judging by this photo of him at the QPR FA Cup game this
week.
Norwich midfielder Bradley Johnson has taunted Joey Barton after the QPR star was sent off during
Norwich's 2-1 win at Loftus Road on Saturday. Barton had given Queens Park Rangers an early lead
before being involved in a confrontation with Norwich midfielder Bradley Johnson. The spiky
Mancunian then appeared to headbutt Johnson and was swiftly [.

Barton with a gormless-looking Yaxley-Lennon
QPR's Joey Barton has come out quickly and strongly to deny claims on the far-right English
Defence League's Facebook page that he has joined the organisation.
A photo of Barton alongside EDL head honcho Stephen Yaxley Lennon (see above) was posted on the
EDL Support Group Facebook page, with the title "Joey Barton joins the EDL".
It meant so much to everyone. Fulham fans before the game seemed nervous. I don't know what the
Rangers fans were thinking but they were loud and excitable. This was them back in the big time.
"We hate it when our friends become successful" sang Morrissey. "And if they're Fulham, that makes
it even worse.
Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton has moved to defend himself after being involved in a scuffle with
Arsenal forward Gervinho during his sides' bad tempered 0-0 draw with the Gunners at St James' Park
on the season's opening day. The notoriously combative midfielder reacted furiously to a cheap dive
from Gervinho in the Newcastle box by [.
In a bad tempered start to the season, Arsenal were held to a goalless draw by Newcastle at St
James' Park with the match being overshadowed by Gervinho being sent off on his Gunners debut after
an unsavory confrontation with the spiky Joey Barton. But who was in the wrong? You decide. The
sending off [.
What are the odds Alan Pardew is the next Premier League manager to go? Derek McGovern's
Bets of the Day
Since Newcastle's hierarchy determined Joey Barton could leave, the combative midfielder has
been quoting the likes of George Orwell, the Dalai Lama and Morrissey.
When I started following English football in earnest a few years ago, it opened up a whole new
world of teams, history, events and the cast of characters that made up them. Coming from the U.S.,
I found it fascinating to not only experience a wholly unique sport, but to learn about a brand new
set of athletes and how they were viewed and were covered by the media and the general public.

In Joey's mind he's got himself a delightfully hip 'Morrissey' quiff with his latest coif,
though to our eye he's actually come out looking more like a cross between a nervy, under-nourished
WWI private, K.D Lang and the long-lost third Jedward triplet.

Things we never thought would actually happen in a month of Sunday's Vol #1: The newly re-jigged
Joey Barton 2.0 hipster edition (complete with Beastie Boys skin) actually met Morrissey at
Glastonbury yesterday by personal request of the former Smiths frontman.

He's never been one for cap doffing, but as former Smith's frontman and renowned solo artist
Morrissey approaches middle age, he seems to be embracing his hobby of perpetually piddling off the
establishment with gusto.

For some reason beknownst only unto himself, ex-Smiths frontman and 'friend of celery' Morrissey
seems to have personally requested to meet Joey Barton at Glastonbury this year.
Barton tweeted that he had 'just received the best phone call of his life' and when quizzed
whether the call had come from Real Madrid/the VD clinic etc, the Toon midfielder replied:
O.
