In our first article in this series exposing corruption in football we took a quick look at the
situation at Tottenham and the minor matter of how a set of phone records got into the wrong hands
before contemplating [.
Its getting to the point where Pompey fans are wondering if there is some kind of Karmic force
coming to a head in the City. Something to do with all those Crusaders who set sail from there back
in the middle ages perhaps? Because the tally of owners of ill-repute the club has had over the
last 20 years is growing to epic proportions.

D.C. United striker Charlie Davies has reportedly filed a $20 million lawsuit against the
nightclub owner and party host that continued to serve alcohol to the woman that was behind the
wheel on the night of the accident that tragically killed one passenger and severely injured
Davies.
Birmingham City fans reached the highs of winning their first trophy in over 40 years last
season and then suffered the lows of relegation from the Premier League.
Then this summer, the manager who won them that trophy left the club in their hour of need to
join their city rivals Aston Villa.

This has not been a tumultuous few months for Birmingham City. Relegated from the Premiership,
Alex McLeish turns traitor and joins Aston Villa, and now Carson Yeung, the largest shareholder of
the club has been charged with five counts of money laundering by a Hong Kong court. His arrears
could amount to £59m, a nice tidy sum of money.
What with Ashley Cole's air rifle and Joey Barton's many moments of questionable conduct – the
most recent being his claim to be England's best midfielder – this has been another season of woe
for the reputation of Premier League footballers. But as the campaign edges to its close they can
all breath a sign of relief, for it transpires that there is a player in Holland who tops the lot
when it comes to accusations of bad behaviour.
On Friday, the feds indicted the founders the three largest online poker companies in the U.S.
(PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and Absolute Poker) and seized their websites in a major crackdown on
internet gambling.

The legal travails and sporting bans handed down to Pakistan cricketers Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif
and Mohammad Amir (10 years, five of which are suspended; 7 years, 2 of which are suspended; and 5
years respectively) for spot-fixing seems lenient although the ICC has no doubt gone for their
standard 'justice being seen to be done' template rather than justice actually being done.
