There's never a Bulldog handy when you need one.All on the beach in Monaco I expect. The JimmyG2
Column And MOM ( Mammal of the Match) goes to .....the cat. Good movement, ran the channel well,
certainly had an eye for goal, and flummoxed Friedel twice in the space of 20 seconds which is more
than Liverpool did.
Guh. Read Martin's preview to be cheered up. (He almost completely ignores our big loss. Glosses
over, I guess you could say.)
Last season Ramsey scored a late goal to win this for us 1-0. Here's a picture of that goal for
some inspiration:
Could history repeat itself?
Could do.
This just in: The U.S. WNT spends lots of time in airports. Here the squad waits for its flight
to Canada.Easy travel day for the U.S. WNT today. Relatively short flight from LA (not sure how long, but
it's whatever is the length of
Moneyball+ a short nap. Also, the WNT Blog maintains that
Brad Pitt is underrated as an actor), into the same time zone and they players had time to get a
weight workout in the morning and get into Vancouver in time for dinner in the evening.
You know your Mom loves you when she gives you this as your present this year and your brothers
get Timbers Beanies.
Tim Johnson had just sat down to enjoy lunch with his mother Monday when he got an
unusual phone call.
"It was the weirdest call. He said, 'Can you play soccer in an hour?' " Johnson heard Madison
United Juniors teammate Eric Vivier asking him on the other end. "Landon
Donovan is going to be at Keva.
Today was the final training session at the Sports Complex where we've been staying for the last 10
days. The staff has been great and everyone has been really accommodating. At the end of the
session, we got the whole group together for one big group photo.
Notice anything in this photo?
Remember Afroman's "Because I Got High"? Much like Alanis Morrisette's "You Outta Know" it was one
of those rare late 90s/early 2000s pop songs that managed to sneak a blatant oral sex reference
onto America's most mom-approved radio stations. Subsequently, many of us experienced that awkward
moment where you are in a small confined space (i.
I don't know where I'll rank in headline writing when my story is written, but I've got a three
topics I want to cover today. Recruiting, Heath and finally, his final regular season home game
scheduled for this Sunday. If you want to understand the first two, you owe it to yourself to
attend the "Legacy Game" between Missouri State and SIUE at 6:00 pm Sunday.
Of all the moments in the surreal, simultaneously compelling and slightly sickening Manchester
City vs. Manchester United game today, there is one that will probably stay rooted in our
imaginations for at least a little while: Balotelli's cheeky question: "Why Always Me?" after his
first goal. Like the most conversation-worthy and striking moments in football, this one is
fascinating because it seems at once funny and irritating, appropriate and trangressive.
They say that one of the best coaches in the world is watching high level games and players. If
that's the case, Rylie Rampone, daughter of U.S. captain Christie Rampone has had some incredible
coaching over her five years as she has attended countless Women's National Team matches and
practices.
Of course, most of the time she was picking flowers, munching on snacks, napping, playing with toys
in suites, playing video games on an iPad or watching videos and cartoons on her portable video
player.

You think those kids wanted Abby's autograph? They got it...The U.S. WNT arrived in Portland tonight at around 7:30 p.m. after a brief delay in their flight
from Kansas City and received a rousing greeting from a few teams worth of young soccer players,
who came out strong with signs, baloons, painted faces and quote a few things to autographs
(including faces.

When the Philadelphia Union made the surprising decision to trade away defender Jordan Harvey,
the biggest concern about the swap was just who would replace him in the Union back-line.
Peter Nowak turned to twin brothers Gabriel and Michael Farfan.
If you are over the age of 4o there is a good chance that you had to surrender control of your
television to the resident drama queen of your household between 1981 and 1989 when Dynasty came
on. If you are between the age of 40 and 25 this was the show that made your mom go snob and start
wearing pearls while rocking one of these haircuts.
Many of the WNT players got nice welcomes when they returned home after the WWC, but this much
is clear: Redding, Calif. loves its hometown hero Megan Rapinoe. Rapinoe returned to this small
town in northern Northern California (Population: 90,000) this week and got a rousing reception,
making an appearance at her old middle school and being hosted at Jack's Grill (see below), a steak
house where her mom has worked for many years.
The 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup Final is just hours away. Game days - espcially when kickoff is
late - move pretty slowly. And this day in particular has been crawling along at a snail's pace!
Game day in the hotel generally consists of rest, meals, more rest, and a pre-game meal. Not much
to do other than get mentally prepared for the game.
(CONTINUED FROM PART TWO)
"I realized that he (Withaya) understands me the most and he could guide me to be a good
player.
"I'm not just saying this but because he did turn me to a player everyone looked up to when I was
16 during which everyone had given up hope on me but "coach" was the only one who saw something in
me.
More rain fell today, but thankfully most of the U.S. WNT training was spared of the wet stuff.
Still, the rain that fell overnight made the pitch quite soggy and the goalkeepers certainly got a
bit muddy. That's ok, though, they enjoy that.
Christie Rampone's oldest daughter Rylie is back home in New Jersey and requested a picture of her
mom on the WNT Blog, so here it is.

Luiz Henrique da Silva giggles at the question: how do you spot the difference between Rafael and
Fábio? The big brother, who came to England to look after the Brazilian twins, seems genuinely
puzzled by how, as in the lyrics of the chant that echoes around Old Trafford, when the boys run
down the pitch, one can't say which is which.
The Brotherly Game wishes everyone a happy Mother's Day today.
Today is a celebration of the most important woman on earth to most people - their Moms. Above
are the two public declarations of that love by Philadelphia Union players, from midfielder/forward
rookie Levi Houapeu and defense midfielder Amobi Okugo.
U.S. U-20 MNT forward Bobby Wood has lived the teenage soccer player's dream. Having a
successful trial at 13 years old and moving to Europe at 14, Wood has made a home at 1860 Munich
and graduated to the first team this season. He was called into a camp with U-20 coach Thomas
Rongen in April 2010, and has been a mainstay ever since.
Get to know U.S. U-17 MNT and Houston Dynamo Academy goalkeeper Fernando Pina in this video from
Montego Bay. We asked Fernando about his favorite goalkeepers, his mom's Mexican cooking, and what
it means to play for the national team:

W.Ham and Spurs agree: Olympic bid to be settled behind the bike sheds in a three way tag bout.
Kranjcar scores the winner from an assist by Pavlyuchenko in the 90th minute. Jenas is candidate
for MOM again. What's going on? Even more unlikely is that Nico and Roman will start the next game
away to Sunderland and this time JJ scores instead of just hitting the post.
In the 20th weekend only match on Friday Bursaspor won at home agaisnt Sivasspor with Kenny
Miller last minute goal and move to the top of the league until Sunday.
American player, Jozy Altidore did not suit up for this match.
His work papers were not ready!
Instead he watched the match with his mom from the stands.

Miami FC's (Soon to be Strikers) PR Manager Ignacio Rodriguez was on Daniel Feuerstein's
"Feuerstein's Fire Episode #40" yesterday along with FC Tampa fan and Ralph's Mob member Garrett
Tozier.
Following you will be able to listen to it but it starts off talking about the world Cup and the
awarding of the 2022 event in Qatar and the possible changing of the schedule to accommodate the
World Cup to the Winter.
In order to keep the team moving and awake as the players try to adjust to China time as soon as
possible, the squad took a walk today around a local market/mall. Not many purchases were made, but
the players had a good time (as always) experiencing the unique that is Chinese commerce. Defender
Brittany Taylor (above left) did buy a pair of slippers for her boyfriend (whoops, we hope that's
not a surprise), but most players kept their yuan in their pockets.
Bunbury is looking to BBQ a few more goalies in KC's new digs next year...
Standard direction to take on a Teal Bunbury interview is to play up the "father-son" angle.
Teal and his father Alex are the first father-and-son pairing to grace MLS and Alex, Teal's Dad, is
a Canadian soccer legend.
