The headline pretty much sums it up... as headlines are wont to do. Another 4 goals for the
Arsenal, another late consolation goal for our poor victims. Wanderers came out into the amped up
atmosphere of Molineux and really took it to us for the first 25 minutes. Until a Arsenal went
ahead, completely against the run of play on a Zubar own-goal, that is.

Gunners Today 07 November @ 08:18 PM EST
Shortly after Wolves scored their consolation goal, their fans chanted rather ironically "4 nil
and you cocked it all up". Or something along those lines. It is good to know they have a sense of
humour. Not that the supporters needed to illustrate that for me again.
When Doritos sponsored Wolves (the last time they were in the Premiership back in 2003) my
History teacher at the time, a die hard Wolves fan, suggested an acronym for the tortilla chips
brand.

Have you always dreamed of stepping onto the pitch just before a big Premier League match,
seeing things from the players' perspective, feeling the buzz of the stadium, being up close and
personal with your heroes as they warm up, and...preparing the pitch before kickoff and halftime?
Well congratulations, weirdo, because Wolverhampton Wanderers have the contest for you:
On 26 January 2010, Wolves will take on Liverpool at Molineux.

Jozy, less tweeting, more football.
It was a weekend with mixed results for the Americans who apply their trade in the Premier
League. All U.S. players who saw action or are on current rosters were only able to manage a point
with their respected sides.
Fulham striker Clint Dempsey came out on top of the U.

Wolves will host Aston Villa this week at the Molineux this Saturday on ESPN2 (for all of you US

Wolves fans are gutted. Prior to this weekend's fixtures, Portsmouth
had lost their first seven matches. While losing runs can't go on forever, every club in the
country was licking it's lips at the prospect of playing the South Coast side. But on a glorious
Saturday afternoon, in front of a packed Molineux, Wolves fans witnessed utter
horror as their team became the first club to give up points to Europe's worst team.

Still sitting with a donut in the points column, Pompey are in desperate need of some points. It
seems as though everybody myself included has written them off already. I just published an
article earlier this week about how they are definitely being relegated this season. Do I think
they are going to get zero points over the course of the whole season, though?

The explosive Aston Villa centre forward has joined championship front runners Newcastle United on
a three month loan deal. There was a Hot pursuit for the experienced striker with clubs like West
Brom and Middlesbrough thought to be chasing the striker. It was even rumoured that league two side
Notts county were set to sign Harewood as their new owners try continue their reputation to sign
big name players.

There will be no escape from the Pompey chimes on Saturday when Portsmouth visit Molineux.
But it's inherent on Wolves to keep the alarm bells out of earshot.
I'm increasingly proud of our team, remaining positive about our season, but I will confess to
being a tiny bit perplexed.

Is there anyone of a certain age or over that didn't experience a little frisson of excitement
during the summer when they noted for the first time that both Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers
would be back in the top division of English football? The press have largely been dismissive of
both clubs' chances of staying up this season, though, and they had something to sink their teeth
into at the weekend.

I considered writing a season preview - Hell, I might even still do it - but I
didn't want to overwhelm you with more than one post during a summer.
As such, we pick up where we left off, under a sweltering sun playing against a team who don't
appear to be good enough for this division.

Mick McCarthy has been hyperactive on the transfer market, bringing in no less
than seven players into the West Midlands outfit; the latest arrival being that of defender
Michael Mancienne on loan from Chelsea.
On the other hand, West Ham United have a lot to prove as Gianfranco
Zola continues the good job he has done with the Hammers.

What is the proper way to honor a legend?
Is it to retire his jersey, have a special day for them, or build a statue in their honor. That is
what we do in the United State, but in England they do it a different way. Take a look around at
the classic stadiums in England and many of them have stands that are named after long time club
heroes.

With promotion to the Premier League, Wolverhampton have also gained a fancy new online gambling
house sponsor to adorn their kits this season. But what's different about this sponsorship is that
for the first time ever, a club with a gambling sponsor will offer a choice of logos on the junior
replica kits they sell either that of the gaming site or that of the Wolves Community Trust, the
club's charity arm, so parents actually have the option of whether they want their kids to be a
human billboard for something that will probably have them taking out ill-advised loans at some
point in their life.

As is the usual preseason prediction, the three promoted sides are always the favourites to go
straight back down. Last season gave us something of a novelty in recent years, with two of the
three sides that came up in 2007-2008 staying with us for another year, as close as Hull tried to
throw it all away.

The season is over, the market is being tested now in the transfer window and
the three heroes of Coca Cola Championship (Wolves, Birmingham, Burnley) are thinking about how to
make the team that will survive season 2009/10 in Premier League lion's cage. Each of the teams
will definitely need big signings, unless they are going to a field trip, but we should also
mention that they already have some excellent individuals, whose career can be launched
sky-high in the competition with the strongest teams on the island.

Whilst still unconfirmed by the club, reports last week claimed that Frazier Campbell, Danny
Simpson and Darron Gibson had been placed on the transfer list. Since then, Hull have come in with
a £6m offer for Campbell, whilst Simpson will probably struggle to land a Premiership team. He
couldn't get in the Blackburn team so will likely join a Championship side this summer, with
Newcastle and Birmingham apparently interested.

So much has changed at Molineux since Wolves won their last Premier League game, exactly five years
ago today.
But one thing remains exactly the same from the team that beat Wayne Rooney's Everton 2-1 to the
team that will line-up to receive the Championship trophy on Sunday.
The 2003/4 team had a fantastic right back, and the 2008/9 team has a fantastic right back.

So, 5 years after relegation, the famous Black and Gold strip of Wolverhampton Wanderers has
made a belated return to the Premiership after Saturdays tense 1-0 win over Queens Park Rangers at
Molineux. It's an impressive return from a complete turn around from the side relegated from the
Premiership under Dave Jones back in 2003-2004 season, Jones was unable to push them back up and
was replaced by Glenn Hoddle but he also failed in his attempt to return Wolves back to the
Premiership.
