A goal from Danny Batth two minutes into stoppage time at the end of Saturday afternoon's match at Molineux between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leeds United was enough to rescue a critical point for the home side, one which kept them out of the relegation places, above Barnsley on goal difference alone.
Turbulent times then.
The arrival of a new boss, with new ideas and a new way of conveying them, and the departure of
three players who could have been major weapons in the battle for promotion.
So where now?
For Wolves to amass something in the region of £27 million for the sale of Fletcher, Jarvis and
Kightly is remarkable.
New Wolves boss, Ståle Solbakken's, claims that there is a ‘dictatorship' culture in English
football should come as a welcome sign for fans of the Championship club.
Looking to start afresh, after their dismal Premier League relegation last term, Wolves Chief
Executive, Jez Moxey, was swift in his appointment of Solbakken, paving the way for a new era at
Molineux.
Following on from our series of archive video of the twenty clubs of the Premier League, we are
continuing on over the course of the next nine months with the clubs of the Football League and,
since we're doing this alphabetically and starting with the Championship, first up is Barnsley. FA
Cup runners-up in 1910 and winners in 1912 whilst in the Second Division, Barnsley would not go on
to taste top division football until the 1997/98 season, but the six matches that we have chosen
for you come mostly from before then, with one match from the season afterwards.
Sky Sports understands that Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is planning a surprise swoop for Dorus
de Vries, a goalkeeper he knows well.
De Vries worked under Rodgers during their time together at Swansea City, with the pair helping the
Swans secure promotion to the Premier League.
They parted company in the summer of 2011, with De Vries opting to link up with Wolves as a free
agent.
We have another six matches from the past this morning, today featuring a club which survived
relegation by virtue of results elsewhere.: Queens Park Rangers. QPR have always been a relatively
popular choice for the television companies, not least because of the close proximity of Loftus
Road to the BBCs Television Centre, although it is worth pointing out that the majority of these
highlights actually come from the cameras of ITV.

The next in our series of Match Of The Past which will have covered all twenty Premier League
clubs soon and will be moving onto the Football League thereafter focusses on Stoke City, and six
matches covering the years between 1970 and 1996. The 1970s were a happy decade for the club. In
1972 they won their first major trophy, and there was a hint of what was to come year before, when
they reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup before losing to Arsenal.

Despite a fantastically entertaining season with a raft of Premier League winners this term, it
has been a campaign to forget for some teams and individuals. Euro 2012, the Olympics and the
summer transfer window are approaching, and for some 2011-12 could not come to an end quick
enough.
Just 90 minutes left to endure until the Premier League becomes a memory.
The game was up weeks ago, but the game will be up officially on Sunday when Wolves physically
return to the Championship.
Forty four players, barring any surprise last day debuts at Wigan, have worn the old gold and black
these last three seasons.

The Toffees dominated this dead-rubber of a game at Molineux. However, Terry Connor will be
delighted to secure a point in his last home game of the season.
After Wolves were related against Manchester City it would be easy for the team to just fold and
give in the rest of their games this season. But the players however have a lot still to play for,
that is their own personal Premiership survival.
Take their most recent game against Swansea (and what a game).

A successful relationship between a football fan and a club chairman is surely built on faith and
trust? If so, Wolverhampton Wanderers chairman Steve Morgan clearly has some ground to make up.

be in this position again.

TweetTerry Connor's Wolves side have been relegated from the Premier League after a 2-0 defeat to
Manchester City at Molineux. The Black Cats needed a victory to give themselves any chance of
survival but were unable to stop title-chasers Manchester City from grabbing a well deserved 2-0
win. Goals from Sergio Aguero and Samir Nasri [.
After late winners at Ewood Park and Wembley, Liverpool return to Anfield to host West Brom,
where they'll hope to earn just their sixth home victory of the 2011-2012 campaign. A good chunk of
the headlines will focus on Roy Hodgson's first time back at Anfield after his managerial spell
ended last January, but Liverpool would do well to place their sights firmly on ending the season
on a good run of results regardless of who's at the helm for the opposition.
FA Cup semifinal today but it doesn't involves The Arsenal. There's a couple of Premier League
matches, none of which involves us as well. Our game against Wigan will only be on Monday night and
that give the players plenty of time to recover from the midweek exertions at Molineux.

Manchester United lost at Wigan, Manchester City cruised at home, and Arsenal blanked Wolves in
the English Premier League on April 11, 2012.
Manchester City 4-0 West Bromwich Albion
A dominating performance from Man City who gained ground in the title race. It was a rare start
for Carlos Tevez who ended up scoring in the 60th minute.
Being kicked a few times won't stop Sagna from playing
The last time we faced a team in the relegation zone, we lost. This time around, the gap is even
bigger. It was 3rd against 18th then, today it's 3rd against 20th. Wolverhampton Wonderers are the
opponent for tonight and given the form that both teams are in and the position of both clubs, this
should really be nothing other than a win for Arsenal.

Arsenal are currently third in the table, two points above Spurs and Newcastle, and have four
more than Chelsea with a game in hand. That is the game against Wolves at Molineux. Winning this
match could give the Gunners a five point cushion with just as many games to go. With still some
tricky fixtures to come in the run-in Wenger's team could benefit from some breathing room.

Newly-appointed Wolves manager Dean Saunders has heralded his arrival at Molineux with a speech that veered between military discipline and nutritional advice. The Welshman wants his players to be unquestioning soldiers, working selflessly towards a common goal. But that doesn't necessarily mean laying down their lives.

With just six more games to play the season's end is fast approaching, our current third place
is not looking too bad when the awful start to the campaign is taken into account. There are some
tough games coming up and tonight's trip to Molineux is a potential stumbling block which deserves
to be taken just as seriously as Saturday's win over the Manchester Oilers.
Manchester United take on Everton on Sunday with the ability to temporarily reopen an eight
point gap over rivals Manchester City, and put a bit more pressure on Roberto Mancini's men, who
face Wolves later in the day. Football betting odds will favour the Red Devils at home, but an able
and combative Everton side will not make it easy for the champions.
