Moldova doesn't get enough love. It doesn't get any love, really, unless you're prone to
swinging by UEFA's Football Europe site, where it gets the occasionally hat tip and shoo-away.
Julian Bursuc did something to change that with a rather crude right hand to the referee's mug,
whose shoulder defense skiffs the punch perfectly.

This is the internationals wrap up thread. Try to contain your excitement.
We'll get back to Liverpool soon enough, as we're now more than halfway there, and for the most
part it was a successful Friday for Liverpool's internationals. It was a complete success for us,
though, as we didn't see anyone pick up an injury on the day.
Slovakia and Russia get Liverpool's day started from Zilina at 7:15PM BST/2:15PM EST

I would hate to be in Helsinki this coming Friday. Its already enough that the cruise ships that
trawl back and forth between Stockholm and the Finish capital bring their fair share of completely
loaded weekend alcoholics. It's another thing when you mix this with a football game. Come Friday
night, Helsinki is going to be packed with Sweden supporters singing loud and obnoxiously while
downing beer after beer.

The qualifying draw for World Cup 2014 was held in Rio de Janeiro yesterday. I think England has to
be the biggest beneficiary of the draw as they avoided Europe's top teams. England have been placed
in Group H against Montenegro, Ukraine, Poland, Moldova and San Marino. The toughest group is
probably Group I where Spain, France, Belarus, Georgia and Finland will battle it out.
England seemed to have had a decent draw in the 2014 World Cup draw, which took place in host
country Brazil, tonight. England were drawn against Montenegro, Ukraine, Poland, Moldova, and San
Marino in Group H of the draw. Scotland and Wales were drawn against each other in Group A, and
will play Croatia, Serbia, [.
England were given a tricky World Cup qualifying group as they will face Montenegro, Ukraine,
Poland, Moldova, and San Marino in Group H as they bid to qualify for the 2014 World Cup finals in
Brazil.
Scotland and Wales were drawn together in Group A, and will play Croatia, Serbia, Belgium, and
the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
England will face Montenegro, Ukraine, Poland, Moldova and San Marino in their qualifying group for
the 2016 World Cup in Brazil. The draw was made in Rio De Janeiro this evening. Fat Ronaldo was
responsible for pulling England's name out of the hat.

1998 World Cup champion and 2006 World Cup runner-up France will have to play a top-seeded European
team in qualifying it was announced on Wednesday. The draw, which will take place on Saturday,
takes one team from each of six pots the pots determined by seeds. The current world champion and
top-ranked country in the world is in the top-seeded pot as expected, along with other heavyweights
Germany, Holland and Italy.
Ibrahimovic marked his return to the Sweden team in style. His hat-trick helped Sweden destroy
their Nordic neighbours 5-0 .Ibrahimovic had missed the group E win at Moldova at the weekend
through injury. He came off the bench for the injured Ola Toivonen and made up for lost time -
scoring two goals in the first half and the third in the second.
I think the first thing I should say about this game is just a plain and simple wow! I was not
for the life of me expecting the performance I witnessed last night. I assumed the game was going
to be something like a usual Lagerbäckian qualifier: that is we score a goal just before the half
time, hold back and let the other team into the game only to win it late on a superb team
effort.
On Tuesday, in a press conference in Stockholm, Swedish national coach Erik Hamren released the
squad for the Euro qualifier against Moldova. Of all the squads he's had to pick so far this was
probably the most difficult. There are several reasons for this.
The first reason is Olof Mellberg's red card against San Marino when we were already up 2-0 or
something unreachable like that.
Sweden took part in the 2011 Cyprus Cup. Never heard of it before? Not many had. In any case the
somewhat odd and demanding tournament format meant that national coach Erik Hamren had to take out
a squad with 33 players (should have been 34 but Albin Ekdal from Bologna had to withdraw because
of injury).
It's hard for me to advertise the game against Moldova for you. To be honest, I don't think it
will have any significance in our Euro 2012 preparation. After Peszko, Grosicki and Paweł Brożek
moved away from the Ekstraklasa and Polonia Warsaw players were prohibited to join the national
team there aren't many players left in the squad that are close to playing for the actual national
team.
Contrary to previous arrangements Polonia Warsaw players (Sobiech, Sadlok, Jodłowiec and
Mierzejewski) won't play in the friendlies against Moldova and Norway. This shows a total disregard
for the interest of the national team from the Polonia owner Józef Wojciechowski and basic
communication problems between him and PZPN.
