REPORTS: Chelsea to sign Real Madrid midfielder in January??

A Chelsea Fans Blog for Chelsea Fans at related • 0 views

According to various reports, Jose Mourinho is trying to seal a deal to sign "the new Modric" from Real Madrid in January for £10m. His name is Alvaro Medran and he is touted as the complete midfielder.

I will be honest, I know little of Medran but for someone to be touted in the same bracket as Modric, he must have something about him!

I'm still in shock. Did we really just win our 11th European Cup? Yes we did... and judging from the images of the team's celebrations, I'd say that no one celebrates titles like Real Madrid too.

Why An Injury To Modric Would Be A Disaster For Real Madrid

Real Madrid Galacticos at related • 0 views

Real Madrid's Luka Modric didn't come out for the second half for Croatia on international duty against Bulgaria. As if that is something new when talking about the creative midfielder, but Croatia coach has confirmed that Modric was substituted as a precaution against injury. It is common knowledge by now that Modric's injury caused considerable damage to Real Madrid's title challenge to Barcelona and Atletico Madrid last season as well.

Revisting Rafa's Dilemmas

For the past few matches, Real Madrid have been without 2 of our key attacking players: Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez. And though there is much left to be desired over our last 2 matches (0-0 to Malaga, and a doze-worthy 2-0 against Malmo last night), it's easy to fall into the wrong conclusions generated by a few superficial observations.

Did Real Madrid midfield skill really murder Malaga challenge ?

Real Madrid Galacticos at related • 0 views

Malaga had little influence on the game against Real Madrid but that tends to happen to lots of teams who come to play at Bernabeu. But what did Real Madrid's midfield do to make Malaga's midfield (and the forwards) almost non existent. Real Madrid is a team which attacks a lot with the wing backs which leaves a lot of work to be done, defensively, on the shoulders of the midfielders.

Athletic Bilbao 1-2 Real Madrid: The Midfield

Benitez had never won against Athletic Bilbao as a manager before this match and if there was one reason why he was able to win (apart from two Benzema goals )this time of asking was because of the midfield. The trio of Modric, Kovacic and Kroos balanced the midfield with great effect. Isco was also employed as a midfielder but he played in a more advanced role by helping out Ronaldo and Benzema in attack.

The 2014-2015 season for Real Madrid is over. So what if there are 2 more La Liga games to go? It's over for us. No Copa Del Rey, No La Liga, No Champions League. The season that could have yielded 6 titles only yielded 2: and neither of them were the big ones. . It was of course poetic justice of sorts that a goal in each leg from Alvaro Morata would end our season - the sort of nightmare Deja Vu that brought painful memories of Fernando Morientes into the minds of every Real Madrid fan old enough to remember that bitter night in 2004.

What a shit performance. At age 35 (turning 36 this year), I am finding it harder and harder to get up at 2:45 or 3:45 am Singapore time (depending on European Daylight Savings time) to watch Champions League matches. And when you get up in the middle of the night, on 2-3 hours sleep to watch a match like that, and then get another 2 hour shut-eye session before heading to work - your day is pretty much fucked up before it even began.

Orgasm. Catharsis. Nirvana. .
