This used to be everyday at BMO Field. Sigh.We love us a transfer deadline day. The
MLS one is kind of fun for trades but with the multiple windows it can get a bit muddled. On the
flipside, when UEFA shuts its window twice a year - it is quite the spectacle. Teams scrapping it
out for the title trying to bring in a useful mercenary while minnows try to avoid relegation with
a timely loan signing or keep the club alive by selling an asset for big money.

Aron Winter says TFC is "complete" as forty two players are now in camp. Thoughts on how this is a
dramatic change from seasons past.

So this year the Sounders had the best draft in the history of MLS - again. The thing is, our
player scouting efforts are so far above that of the average team, we really should be considered a
separate case. As an example, did you see me lamenting the loss of Mo Johnston? Remember when I
stripped him for Danny O'Rourke and Will Hesmer for a partial allocation?
The halftime show will be spectacular!"50,000 fans". This was the mantra repeated ad
nauseam during TFC's Dutch Breakfast Extravaganza on Friday regarding the CCL Quarterfinal at
SkyDome. There is a great expectation from the club's owners as well as many supporters that the
fixture versus LA Galaxy will equal, if not eclipse, Montreal's memorable CCL Big O filler of a few
years back.
Wow, they are happy Thierry Henry's leaving on loanMere hours from now, Dick Clark will descend on Manhattan's Times Square riding a fully armed
crystal ball where he will fight an army of Mayan warriors bent on destroying the world. Or
something to that effect.
Yes, 2012 is upon us and while many fear that it is the year that marks the end of civilization,
most TFC supporters just hope that it is the year that marks the end of futility.
Continuing the stat updating for you tonight, it's time to update the 10,000 minute club.
In league play one new player joined the 10,000 minute club, as Michael Harrington became the 12th
player for Kansas City, Davy Arnaud also jumped up 1 spot on the list moving ahead of Jimmy Conrad.
A month by month look back at the year that was for Toronto FC and why last season's upheaval is
finally starting to show dividends.

Since it'd been a few days without a post I figured I'd give you a second post today as well on
stats. This time it's all competition goal scorers for Sporting KC in their history. First here are
some previous years for you.
1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010
On the list this year we add two new players to the list this season, other than that we see no
movement on the list this year.
More stats to update for you. This time it's the leading scorers in MLS play now through the 2011
season. First here are links back to the previous years.
1996 - 1997 - 1998 - 1999 - 2000 - 2001 - 2002 - 2003 - 2004 - 2005 - 2006 - 2007 - 2008 - 2009 -
2010
One new player joins the list this year, and another continues to shoot up the list.

Well as I said earlier, that was gutting, but here are some stats from the game, including a couple
nice marks being hit.
The loss was KC's first home playoff loss since 1997, the team had gone unbeaten for 12 games since
their 3-0 home loss to Colorado.
CJ Sapong tied a team record for appearances in a season with 40.
I ask in this post season look back of the season that was for Toronto FC, what might have been if
MLSE had not wasted most of "the hundred days" between firing Mo Johnston and hiring Aron
Winter.

"Cafeteria?" Left at the windmill, right at the clogmaking class"It has been a
school year of change on the shores of Lake Ontario. After Preki Junior High was shut down last
year, with crusty Dean Mo Johnston run out of town, many wondered what new curriculum would be
brought in. When it was announced that the Winter Technical Institute was to open in PJH's place -
the dumb jocks knew their days were numbered.
I take a critical look at recent articles about TFC by the Toronto Star's Cathal Kelly and how they
have both distorted the facts and contradicted one another.

"The Champagne of MLS Clubs"
TORONTO (16th) VS. NEW YORK (10th) BMO FIELD - SATURDAY 7:30 PM EDTTV: TSN2 RADIO: FAN 590 THE KICKABOUT:After the shock passed over Dwayne De Rosario's trade to New York this past spring, most TFC
supporters scanned the calendar and circled October 1st as a must-see match.
Regrets, we've had a few... hundredThere was a special, almost spiritual, occasion
in the world of Toronto FC last week. No, it wasn't the club's first ever win over Columbus, nor
the hoisting of the illustrious Trillium Cup - it was an anniversary of a momentous date in TFC's
history.

Unlabour Day cheezies.... let us pray...
We've always found those strange "almost holiday" days that come right after a very recognized
special day to be quite odd. For example, the day after Halloween is known as All Saints' Day, a
Christian holy day where every saint, known and unknown, is celebrated.
Michael Lewis writes about the challenges facing Richie Williams in getting a coaching job in Major
League Soccer.
Williams has certainly paid his dues as both a player and assistant coach in both college soccer
and in MLS.
Before I go any further, I should make it clear that I do not represent Richie Williams.
Like my new hat? Got it in Malvern! It's Murphy's Law in football, as in many other pro
sports, that an ex-member of your club inevitably comes back to haunt you. Saturday night was
Dwayne De Rosario's turn. Arguably the best player ever to don the TFC kit, De Ro of course left
Toronto under a cloud of "he said, Mo saids".

Torsten Frings, the newest DP in MLS and in Toronto. (Getty Images)
On a day when Toronto FC is set to take on their Canadian rivals, the Vancouver Whitecaps. The
club has gone out and made a big splash in the transfer market. The club announced today the
signings of German World Cup midfielder Torsten Frings and former PSV Einhoven striker Danny
Koevermans as the club's newest Designated Players.
Aron Winter to give up head coach role and Frings/Kouvermans arrive as DP's. Just another average
day for Toronto FC!

too many details like this one too close to the vest.

Even the architecture is 4-3-3!
When Preki Junior High permanently closed its doors last year, and crusty Dean Mo Johnston was
sent packing, no one knew what place of learning would take in the young Reds. Then, just before
the school year began, word emerged that the prestigious Aron Winter Academy of Total Learning
would open its doors with promises of cultured education and advanced philosophy nurturing the
minds of Toronto's footballing pupils.
It's tempting to think that today's match versus Toronto FC is one that the Seattle Sounders
should win. By most measures, Toronto is one of if not the worst teams in the league. They have the
worst goal differential at -10, have allowed the most goals, have the second worst shot
differential per 90, and their 5th-worst point total is inflated by the fact that they're tied for
the second-most games played this season (along with the Sounders).
As the midway point of the MLS season nears for TFC I take a look at the home records of the
Eastern Conference and learn that the Reds are not exactly out of it just yet. And I try to dispel
the myth that MLS 2011 is a league with a true home field advantage.

All these screens and not one Jan de Bont film?Few people who have to regularly travel
by air for work claim that it is a pleasurable experience. Airport line-ups, cramped flights,
security headaches and long delays are the norm for these weary airline commuters. For Toronto FC
and their MLS brethren, fixture lists can sometimes mean criss-crossing the continent three or four
times over a fortnight.
Rumours swirl about the immediate future of Julian de Guzman with Toronto FC. Why I think it might
be the right time for him and TFC to part ways.

"Hate is not the opposite of love; apathy is."- Rollo May
For the first few years of Toronto FC's existence, the club, so desperate for a positive spin,
dined out on the media propelled designation that BMO Field had "
the best fans in the
league". Boisterous, loud and loyal, the supporters were the only thing worth putting on a
billboard to promote a club so bereft of quality on the pitch.
Roof goes here.Ask Toronto FC supporters what is wrong with the failing, and
seemingly flailing, club right now and many will give an arms-length list of problems dressed in
red kits or holding clipboards. In a season where on-field successes have been few and far between,
it is hard to fault the average member of BMO Field's faithful for pointing at the pitch and
screaming in exasperated frustration.
"Qatar #1, Russia #1... ethics...hach pewy!"There isn't too much else we can, or want, to say about Toronto FC this week after sitting through
their 6-2 drubbing on Saturday. So, we thought we'd take a look at another well-oiled football
machine with no apparent problems - FIFA. Unless you've been living under a football rock (I think
it's in Oklahoma) then you've heard about the many accusations and allegations of corruption coming
out of The Death Star FIFA's Swiss headquarters.
