For U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann, one of the key components to the holistic approach to player
development is providing nutrition education. Years and years of scientific study have proven that
proper nutrition leads to better performance. During the training camp in Phoenix, the U.S MNT
received instruction and advice from Danielle LaFata, the Director of Performance Nutrition at

The MLS SuperDraft is Thursday, Jan. 12 and for a few players in camp, it's the day they could
finally realize a childhood dream of turning professional. Two players in camp have had their name
tossed around in the various mock drafts building up to tomorrow's big event in Kansas City.
Defender Andrew Wenger out of Duke traveled to the Midwest to be a part of the proceedings and
forward Kelyn Rowe out of UCLA will be watching events unfold from his hotel room here in Southern
California.
Most of the current group in Carson, Calif. has U-23 MNT Camp experience. Many of the players have
been in one camp under Caleb Porter (December in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.) and were part of the first

The U-20 Men are pretty busy in Ft. Lauderdale right now while in the middle of their first camp of
the new year, but they had time after yesterday's afternoon training session to hear a special
message from U.S. Men's National Team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann. Klinsmann spoke to the players
via skype, encouraging them to work hard to achieve their professional goals and offering the full
support of the coaching staff.
Throughout January, the players on the Men's National Team will be providing a first-hand
account of what's happening inside the camp as they deal with the rigors of intense training
under the watchful eyes of the coaching staff, all the while auditioning for playing
time in the two important matches at the end of the month.
One of Jurgen Klinsmann's main goals is to make sure that the messages being delivered to the full
U.S. Men's National Team are being filtered down throughout the U.S. National Teams. He has done
that through his communication with all of the YNT coaches, and today he took it one step further
by speaking directly to the U-20 MNT during their training camp in Florida.

One of the enduring traditions around Academy events is the staff game played by the Technical

for those who get to watch how much talent and experience is being contributed to the scouting
efforts.

Decided tonight, in the midst of some serious procrastination, to check on the old blog and see
how it's gone. I'm very pleased to know that my post regarding the average number of minutes of
actual playing time is the most commonly cited post on here. While I enjoyed the momentary
notariety that came with predicting Jorge Larrionda would red card an American midfielder in our
Confederations Cup match against Spain in 2009, I didn't start the site to criticize refs.

U.S. U-23 MNT forward Tony Taylor lives and plays in Portugal, where he caught the eye of Caleb

sub in the scrimmage on Friday, scoring one goal and setting up another.
While the U-23's ran out to a 3-1 win against Bochum, Taylor was quick to point out that the goal
