Dear Seattle, it's been quite a year for you all up there. After all, an
expansion team is not supposed to do what you all did. I have to give you "props' big-time!
Seriously, out of the box the Seattle fans came out and supported a well-designed and well-staffed
team, hammering all MLS attendance records.

Landon Donovan is celebrating a personal victory this week as he was awarded
the MVP for the 2009 MLS season. The MVP is the highest honour for any individual player. Well you
can't say he didn't earn it. Donovan almost single handedly carried his the LA Galaxy to the MLS
Finals this year, already winning for them the Western Conference Championship.

How many high pressure wins does it take to erase the title of underdog? After entering
the tournament as the lowest seed, Real Salt Lake might need one more as they try to complete their
Cinderella Story toward Sunday's David vs.

With a soggy forecast in Seattle for MLS Cup Sunday the Galaxy's thoughts have turned to the one
drawback to Qwest Field - the artificial turf.
Meanwhile, former Galaxy striker Robbie Findley is looking forward to a championship clash
against his former club.
Notable: This is David Beckham's first game in Seattle since joining MLS (although he played
there in 2006 with Real Madrid).

Photographs of the USA's home jersey for the 2010 World Cup have been leaked.
Designed and manufactured by Nike, the new design features a white shirt with a prominent
diagonal line across the front of the shirt, which is a tribute to the 1950 US World Cup squad who
famously defeated England 1-0 in one of the greatest shocks in world football.

MLS marketing mavens, your dream final is secure. Star power vs. star power as David Beckham and
Kyle Beckerman will face each other next Sunday in Seattle. Ok, that concept is a bit of a stretch,
as the best draw when comparing those two players is their unique hairstyle -- one consistent in
his recent career, the other just bizarre.

Pity poor Don Garber.
No, not because he has to put up with reporters all the time; he handles himself pretty well
amongst the unwashed, freeloading, neck-plastic wearing keyboard bangers of the world:
YouTube- Don Garber comments nd gets into shouting match with reporter YouTube- Don Garber comments

But so far, the Conference Championship weekend, one of the biggest TV ratings grabs of the MLS
season, has been, if not a disaster then the next best thing to it.

Yes, that is no typo. Thanks to a striker pool as thin as a wafer due to both injuries and MLS
playoffs reaching their peak, Bob Bradley has his hands tied when it comes to available players for
Saturday's friendly against Slovakia. Landon Donovan is unavailable because of the Los Angeles
Galaxy's playoff triumph, while a fringe player such as Robbie Findley also misses out thanks to
success.

It's early November and we're still another seventh months until the tournament starts but I
must admit that the injuries to Rio Ferdinand and Steven Gerrard
are beginning to worry me. According to Radio 5, Gerrard hasn't trained for two weeks and
Ferdinand's overall fitness this season may have contributed to some of his indifferent
performances when he has appeared for Manchester United.

Columbus loses 4-2 on aggregate to Real Salt Lake. It was a great season, boys. Maybe not
Massive, but not anything to be ashamed of.
None of us expected this, no one thought it was possible. The Crew always performs under
pressure. Columbus always gets the clutch goal or Jesus-save that it needs to stay alive.

After starting a new job, losing Internet access for a bit, and just being on the go for the last 2
weeks or so, it's nice to finally be able to sit down and crank out something - anything!
So why not go back to an old reliable, with a full slate of Champions League matches on tap for
tomorrow afternoon - eight matches in Groups A-D.

Dunivant, Chris Birchall, David Beckham, Dema Kovalenko, Mike Magee, Edson Buddle, Landon

It's Halloween, and I'm scared.
Not of the hordes of ghosts and goblins floating around as I type this, but rather that the MLS
season of my beloved Columbus Crew will come to an end on Thursday night.
Tonight, as they took on Real Salt Lake in the first leg of the home-and-home playoff series,
The Massive looked anemic.

When it comes to conversations about the most dysfunctional clubs in Major League Soccer, the
New York Red Bulls often tend to dominate the conversations, but one club that needs to start being
discussed is the Colorado Rapids.
The Rapids downright imploded in the final six weeks of the MLS season to miss out on the
playoffs for a third straight year.

Could the 2010 MLS season be in a little bit of danger next season? It seems like it could be a
possibility, as the current collective bargaining agreement is up in January. According to former
Wizard, Nick Garcia in the Toronto Sun (yes I know the Sun is a tabloid), players have been told to
put money back for this year just in case.

"Shut up Fool!"
In the world of blogging and sports media, there is no art more refined and time tested than the
systematic ridicule of a poor performing sports team. When things start to go wrong, everyone from
the owner on down to the equipment managers can be a target for the criticism of those of us who
make our way in sports forming opinions and shouting them loudly from the hilltops.

The rumor mill in Europe is working overtime on the rumor that Barcelona star Thierry Henry is
coming to MLS next summer to play for the New York Red Bulls.
Today the Spanish newspaper AS reported that Henry, who is 32, would like to end his career in
the U.S.
Henry is still part of the France national team that is expected to qualify for next summer's
World Cup in South Africa, which would delay Henry coming to MLS until late in July.

The next few days promise to be big ones in US professional football. Major League Soccer has
