Remember when, in the wake of a guy who posted a video himself screaming "nigger" at a Revs
player who had scored on a penalty kick in the dying minutes of a game at Columbus Crew Stadium,
MLS Rumors claimed Columbus Crew supporters chanted things like "Sieg Heil," "White Power" and
branded their groups with fascist symbols?
French news outlet MLS-News is reporting that the Philadelphia Union are set to add a French

Reality came crashing in this weekend. The amazing August run by the Seattle Sounders ended with
a 2-1 home loss to Real Salt Lake. All the Sounders luck looked spent as Kasey Keller made a 1 in a
1,000 error and the normally steady Mauro Rosales missed a penalty kick wide. The Sounders website
has match highlights and photos.
Hope everybody is enjoying their day off today... well day off that is unless you work in retail
or as a blogger. In any case, the day is ripe for barbeques and hiking around the greater Portland
area so I hope some of you are able to escape from work and soak up some sun.
We have just under a week left until the next Timbers road game so you can expect the return of
our preview series this week as the team heads to Philadelphia.
Today, Josh Mayers at the Seattle Times tweeted that the Sounders would not take advantage of
the summer international transfer window. We all know that it's not for lack of trying. Adrian
Hanauer has stated publicly that he was "working frantically" trying to bring in a top-talent
target forward but that he wouldn't bring in a player that was too expensive or a poor fit for the
team.

the whole thing is all about.
By now, most MLS fans have at least an inkling of what the CONCACAF Champions League is.
The big news in the MLS today is this morning's announcement that they have struck a new 3-year
TV deal with NBC. The deal is worth a reported $10M per year and will put at least 45 games per
