As if the defending MLS Champions needed any more offensive firepower, the LA Galaxy announced
today that Edson Buddle would be rejoining the Galaxy after terminating his contract with FC
Ingolstadt by mutual consent.
Buddle's addition gives LA the league's best forward tandem, as he and Robbie Keane will lead a
line that should feast on the service provided by Landon Donovan and David Beckham.
There's a whole slate of FA Cup 4th Round matches this weekend, kicked off by a match today that
is especially interesting for viewers on this side of the pond. Everton hosts Fulham, which means
it's also a faceoff of the two best American players of this generation: Landon Donovan vs. Clint
Demspey.
Today we wrap up our "Three Questions" series with the defending MLS champions, the Los Angeles
Galaxy. By any definition, they were the best team in MLS last season: they convincingly led the
Supporters Shield's race most of the season, ...

Omar Gonzalez, fresh off the plane and training with Nürnberg, was given a Bundesliga welcome
by compatriot, and now teammate, Timmy Chandler in a crunching tackle — one that left the former
with an injured knee.
Though the extent of the injury is yet to be confirmed by the club, Gonzalez is seen pictured on
the pitch in pain as a club physio examines his left knee.
Speculation that David Beckham has made a huge u-turn to sign a new deal with LA Galaxy is mounting
today, following reports that he has turned down a switch to big spending Paris St. Germain in
France. For a number of weeks now, Beckham has been linked with a return to European football with
the club that has just appointed former Chelsea boss, Carlo Ancelotti as its new manager.
By Thera Reyes, getting her first taste of Beckham and MLS in Manila
Two years ago, it would have been unheard of to have an international football team come to
Manila. Heck, football fans even recently travelled to Malaysia to watch Arsenal, Chelsea and
Liverpool for their Asian tours.
In this week's review section, we congratulate the new MLS champions LA Galaxy, while we also
feature the poor results of the two Manchester clubs in Europe.
Does it make me a guy that after the game was over all I wanted to do was curl up and go to
sleep? Okay, I stayed for a little bit of cuddling and pillow talk, but when it was over I was
done.
In the last few posts I've talked about manifest destiny and how this was our time. But all
along the way I have been bracing myself for the possibility it might not happen.
The Colorado Rapids' hopes of defending its MLS title are still alive, and the club can thank
Omar Cummings for that.
Cummings scored his first goal in nearly three months to help lift the Rapids to a 1-0 win over
the Columbus Crew in a wild card playoff match at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Thursday night.
*Staggering Seattle fell short of the MLS finish line Saturday, missing their three leading
scorers, falling 2-0 to the Philadelphia Union and handing the Galaxy their second straight
Supporters' Shield.
The title capture was all but inevitable anyway for the Galaxy, who may have finished the season
tired and depleted, but they outlasted the rest of MLS to make Sunday's penultimate game of the
season against Chivas USA in Carson a coronation rather than confirmation of the rightful MLS
champions.

spot.
A league source has told the Brotherly Game that Faryd Mondragon suffered a broken right ring
during the first half of the Philadelphia Union's 2-1 loss against Real Salt Lake. The Union have
yet to official name what Mondragon's injury is.
Broken fingers take between three and six weeks to heal fully, according to Web MD online.

As perhaps the only MLS team to gain in confidence during a week of midseason friendlies, the
Union must maintain the momentum gained against Everton and Real Madrid as they enter a stretch
where they will play three matches in eight days.
Looking to make a statement and advance in this years U.S. Open Cup, the Richmond Kickers shocked

Another political leader at No. 10 MLS champions Colorado Rapids presented President Obama with a
'OBAMA 10′ personalised shirt during a visit to the White House. The squad received a reception
from Obama to mark their first MLS title. After receiving his number 10 shirt, the President
commented "that's me and Messi"!
After a very fun 6-2 clobbering of one of the worst teams in Major League Soccer, the 1st place
Philadelphia Union (6-3-2) are travelling out west to take on the defending MLS Champions, the
Colorado Rapids (4-3-6). Kickoff is scheduled for 9:06:30 ET.

After a brief interruption in our weekly series we return to our coverage of American soccer
culture with our series "Better Know a Supporters Group," just like Steven Colbert's "Better Know a
District" from "The Colbert Report".
Our goal: to feature each of the MLS teams' supporters groups.
Happy Friday everyone. It's a good one for Sounders fans as the team is playing this evening
against the Colorado Rapids. The Sounders will be fighting the altitude as much as the reigning MLS
champions. Unfortunately, the Sounders midfielders will also be battling Pablo Mastroeni whom will
be available for the Rapids.
According to a tweet by RSL beat reporter, and Salt Lake Tribune blogger, Michael C. Lewis, the
Philadelphia Union have a schedule change, as the team's April 23 match in Salt Lake is now on
September 3.
Citing "preparation" for Real Salt Lake's upcoming CONCACAF Champions League game against
Mexican side Monterrey, Lewis says MLS moved the game from April to September.
In the week leading up to the D. C. United home opener, I asked our members: "what is the one thing
they were looking for from D.C. United this year? Whether it was an improvement, setting a goal, a
question answered, whatever... But they had to just name one thing, here is what they had to
say...
Some kept it simple:
Shawn: "Goals.
That's how you start a season! The Rapids celebrated their championship and then did what champions
do, put an end to an expansion team's hope early and often.
8 minutes in Omar Cummings proved that he's only gotten better, splitting two defenders at the
corner flag and pulling his patented run at the box and cross move.
Denver, Colorado The Colorado Rapids are out to set the record straight. It seems most
long-time area residents refuse to believe that they are in fact the defending MLS champions.
It seems the confusion began this January when are residents who had previously bought
single-game tickets received direct mailings offering season ticket pages for "your defending
champion Colorado Rapids.

PHOENIX – The defending MLS champions hadn't been in Arizona more than 24 hours before they
had to play the first of three preseason games of a tightly-scheduled six-day trip to the
desert.
It showed. To some degree, anyway.
The Colorado Rapids and Sporting Kansas City played to a scoreless draw after 120 minutes –
two 45-minute periods and a 30 – before a decent-sized crowd of onlookers and Omar Bravo fans
Saturday morning at the Reach 11 soccer complex.
