Regional and State awards is done by members of the Missouri State High School Soccer Coaches

The All-District team for Class 3 District 10 has been announced. The District includes the
Camdenton Lakers, Lebanon Yellowjackets, Rolla Bulldogs, Waynesville Tigers and West Plains
Zizzers. Voting is done by the Coaches.
The Glendale Falcon's, 3rd place finishers in 2011, visited their second city rival in as many
days and came away with their second shutout of this young season. Following Tuesday's 4-0 win over
the Parkview Vikings, Glendale stoned the 'Poo with a 3-0 win.
It was a somewhat uninspiring game given the history of games these two squads have played.
The 2012/13 Fall Missouri State Cup begins this week with Play-in games going on throughout the State. The Play-in games will complete brackets that then lead to Pool Play which will be held October 13th 14th, 2012 at the Lou Fusz SC and St. Louis Scott Gallagher fields in Creve Coeur, MO (St. Louis).
Competitive soccer in Missouri is administered by the Missouri Youth Soccer Association. Clubs
that are members of the organization participate in sanctioned tournaments and leagues, including
the annual Missouri State Cup which just concluded.
Area clubs hold tryouts twice a year (for boys and girls) based upon schedules established by
MYSA.

The Missouri State Cup returns to Lake Country Soccer for the first time since 2006. There are 13
local teams competing in the tournament which kicks off at 8:00 am Saturday with games in the U15
and U16 Boys divisions.
I'm going to be in Springfield for the State Cup in June. I'm working with Bill at Farmers
Gastropub to set up Watch Parties for the European Championships that will begin on check-in
Friday. Two games a day will be shown on the ESPN stations daily at 11:00 am And 1:45 pm.

Missouri State Lady Bears, 2nd Place MVC
Missouri State University Women's Soccer program will conduct a clinic this Saturday, April 28,
from 4:00pm 5:00pm for girls ages 8 12 years old on field 5C at Lake Country Soccer.
This is a FREE activity. No registration is required. All participants need to bring
their own soccer ball.
The 2012 Missouri State Cup Draw will take place on Monday, April 9th, 2012 at 7:00 PM. The draw
will take place at the MYSA Office, but will also be available online via
webcast.

The Lions opened at UMSL on Friday afternoon and built upon the foundation laid in last year's
late season run to the MIAA Championship, earning a tie at under difficult conditions. Playing on a
rain-soaked pitch, in a game halted at one point due to tornado warnings, the team earned a point
on the road against a GLVC Tourney qualifier.
There are some fine college games being broadcast this season, on Fox Soccer as well as ESPN3
and Big Ten Network. Here's the list for the coming week and as always, check my Soccer on TV
calendar in the footer.
Starting off the coming week of games is #3 Penn State hosting #2 Stanford (according to Soccer
America's rankings).
The Missouri State Bear's have a double-header on tap Friday night.
The Lady Bears will lead off at 6:00 pm when they host Nebrask-Omaha. The Maverick's made the
move from D2 and the MIAA two years ago and is in the final year of their transition to D1 and the
Summit League. Coached by CBC grad Don Klosterman, a win Friday night would be his, and the
program's, 200th overall to go with one national title (2005 D2).
The Bear's gave up a pair of goals in the 79th and 86th minute and lost at St Louis this

The Missouri State women's soccer wrapped up the exhibition slate with a 2-0 loss at Saint Louis
on Saturday night. The Billikens got a pair of late goals to spoil a solid second outing by the
Bears.

The Creighton Blue Jays are joined by the Bradley Braves today in receiving NCAA bids. The 48
team field was announced at 3:30 pm today via NCAA.com and includes the two Missouri Valley teams.
Creighton received the overall #2 seed, behind North Carolina who won their Conference championship
on Sunday over Boston College, who enter the tournament as the fourth seed.

Via Penn State Women's Soccer Penn State women's soccer coach Erica Walsh has promoted
Ann Cook to Associate Head Coach. Cook has spent the last five years on the Penn
State staff as an assistant coach.
Cook, who assumed the position on July 1, enters her sixth season with the Nittany Lions after
helping guide them to their 14th-straight Big Ten title, a women's athletic record in the
conference.
