Este domingo 15 inicia la Temporada 2009-2010 de la Liga Mayor de Futbol Rápido, mejor
conocida como MISL. Y el equipo de México representado por La Raza de Monterrey abrirá
el torneo ante el Philadelphia Kixx a las 5 de la tarde en La Arena Monterrey.

The National Indoor Soccer League is now the Major Indoor Soccer League.
Sound familiar? It should.
This will be - if you're multi-point scoring at home - the third outfit to call itself the MISL.
The most recent two have lineage that gets intertwined, but it's basically MISL 3.0. I'd question
the wisdom of announcing the change 10 days before the season opens, but, whatever.

The MISL is dead. Long live the NISL, which has four of the old MISL's nine teams and will
maintain the three-point line along with ties to U.S. Soccer.
That sets the NISL apart from the PASL, which is the U.S. representative of a movement to
establish "arena soccer" or "futbol rapido" as a sport wholly separate from the
outdoor game.

KiXX given the impending implosion of the Spectrum next year is an interesting nugget
