Latest crowd figures from the Major Indoor Soccer League, where Rochester has taken over the lead from Baltimore. The Blast has led its league in average attendance in each of the last seven years.

Apparently I'm "soccer historian," which I'll take. Though there are others (like Colin Jose, Dave Litterer, Roger Allaway and Steve Holroyd).

Anyway, Milwaukee Wave head coach Keith Tozer won his 700th indoor game Sunday as the Wave beat Rochester 26-10.

At this point of the MISL season, it's safe to say that barring an unprecedented collapse by one or both teams, the Milwaukee Wave and Baltimore Blast will win their respective divisions. While it's no surprise that either of these teams will likely be the top seed in their respective semifinal playoff match ups, the biggest shocker may be that the race for the top spot in each division has virtually been secured this early in the season.

Six of the seven matches to be played this MISL season between the Milwaukee Wave and the Wichita Wings are now done and dusted. The first five games were played with real fervor and desire to win from both clubs. It wasn't until game six this past Thursday, that both teams had seen enough of each other.

The Norfolk SharX of the MISL are now taking registrations for their Winter Indoor Soccer League. Registration is now open for players 17 and older.

Norfolk's Lieberman Named Player of the Week
Recorded a pair of victories, including 38-save performance against Syracuse
TAMPA, Fla. – The Major Indoor Soccer League announced on Tuesday that Norfolk SharX goalkeeper Jamie Lieberman had been named the league's Player of the Week for the 11th week of the 2011-12 season.

While the final score was not what the Comets were looking for, the game was still a success. Over 8,200 tickets sold and a bunch of fans got to see a traditional back and forth Comets-Wings rivalry game. Throw in a fun reunion game, retro jersey's auctioned off for charity and the presentation of the Turnpike Trophy to the Comets, it all added up to a fun evening.

Just inches separated the Comets from a perfect night at the Sprint Center on Saturday. The stage had been set as with the National Soccer Coaches Association convention taking place in downtown Kansas City the Comets hosted Soccer Saturday at the palatial Sprint Center in front of a Thunderstix-waving, franchise record crowd of 8,276.

In a match up that was billed by many as the must see game of the season, the Baltimore Blast and Milwaukee Wave battled fiercely for 60 minutes in a game that lived up to it's billing. Baltimore was able to secure a hard fought 9-4 victory over Milwaukee, and at the same validated their belief that they are the best team in the MISL.

Rivals clash for the third time this season when the Milwaukee Wave play host to the Missouri Comets at the US Cellular Arena at 7:00 PM. Milwaukee is looking to extend their division lead over their Central Division rivals. All the while Missouri will be looking to simultaneously extend their lead over Wichita and draw closer to Milwaukee in the mid-season standings.

Milwaukee dropped their first game of the season to the Baltimore Blast on Saturday afternoon by a score of 9-4.

Back after a hiatus, I present you the latest attendance figures from the Major Indoor Soccer League. As you may or may not know, United Soccer Leagues took over the MISL this season and brought it under their umbrella along with its nascent I-League. The result is a seven-team league that's averaging right about what the old one was through the same number of games a year ago.

TAMPA, Fla. – The Major Indoor Soccer League announced its Players of the Month for December on Monday, with the Rochester Lancers' Mauricio Salles being named the Offensive Player of the Month, the Syracuse Silver Knights' Jeff Hughes being named Defensive Player of the Month and the Milwaukee Wave's Nick Vorberg being named Goalkeeper of the Month.

Following the first win in SharX franchise history on December 30th , Norfolk has returned to their losing ways on the weekend road trip of New York.
The SharX where outscored by a total of 23 goals over the weekend in two games and will need to address both offense and defensive struggles if they hope to see another 'W' in the results column anytime soon.

Milwaukee was able to grind out a hard fought victory on the road over the Rochester Lancers on Wednesday evening.

This announcement should add a lot more motivation to both franchises, players and coaches in Wichita and Missouri:

Wings and Comets Announce Rival Series

Currently, the Comets have a head start towards winning the trophy first as they are leading the season series 2-0.

Now we just want to see a picture of the so called Turnpike Trophy.

So we announced it on Twitter yesterday, but I figured the man at least deserved a bit of recognition in today's Timbers Tid Bits.

If you didn't ehar, JohnS trong won MLS's "Broadcast Call of the Year" for his decidedly epic announcement of Darlington Nagbe's "Goal of the Year." I didn't get a chance to watch every single game, but I can't think of another, more passionate announcer and I was very happy to see John get the recognition he deserves.

The Milwaukee Wave are the Major Indoor Soccer League's lone unbeaten team and have the league's top offense.

And they're about to get even better.

Forward Marco Terminesi, the team's leading scorer last season, was cleared to play and added to the active roster Wednesday. The 27-year-old, who finished second in the MISL with 25 goals and 72 points in the 2010-11 season, missed Milwaukee's first seven games with an undisclosed injury.

Millwood had 11 points as the Blast took a pair of victories during the weekend, bolstering their lead at the top of the Eastern Division.
