Brazil's U-20s get their Pan-American campaign under way when they take on Argentina this evening in Guadalajara. After taking the Under-20 World Cup in Colombia earlier this year, Brazil start as one of the favourites but are without the likes of Neymar, Oscar and Lucas Moura who were not called up.

FC Barcelona and Real Madrid got pulses racing in Spain, thrashing Atlético Madrid and Rayo Vallecano respectively on Saturday night.

David Villa produced a sharp finish to give Barcelona a ninth-minute lead and the game looked to be up for Atlético just six minutes later when Thibaut Courtois saved Lionel Messi's shot, only for the loose ball to cannon into the net off defender Miranda.

FC Barcelona continued their excellent home run in 2011-12 La Liga season with a 5-0 victory against the high flying Atletico Madrid. With this victory FC Barcelona moved to second place in the La Liga standing. David Villa opened the scoring for Barca, followed by an own goal from Miranda and three brilliant goals from Messi gave Barca a comfortable victory, which is Barca's fifth in a row against the same side.

Toronto FC defeated the Columbus Crew for the very first time in franchise history in a six-goal thriller and were able to lift the Trillum Cup on Saturday night at Crew Stadium.

It was a back and forth game from the very start.

Tommy Heinemann reduced Toronto's lead to one in the 67th minute but the Crew were unable to respond as Julian de Guzman netted a third goal in the 87th minute.

Philadelphia Setup: The Union set up in their accustomed 4-4-2 with a diamond midfield. Miglioranzi played in the holding midfield spot with Carroll out injured. Daniel played wide left and Mapp played wide right. Paunovic played in the center behind the two strikers. Le Toux and Mwanga were the two strikers.

Travelling to Columbus for the second match in four days, the Fire will face an opponent that will certainly be a challenger for one of the final playoff spots in the Eastern Conference. Despite cleaning house and releasing many of their most reliable veteran players after last season, Columbus is still currently eight points ahead of the Fire in the standings.
