You have to give the Neighbours scriptwriting team (an image of ten chimpanzees throwing their
faeces at a typewriter instantly comes to mind) their dues for attempting to shoehorn a soccer
reference into a recent episode.
Shame really, that they ended up missing the mark by a country mile.
Messi, Ronaldo, Jovanovic We all know that soap opera plot-lines are to be taken with a pinch of
salt, but this is stretching reality a bit too far. During a spot of genealogy, the scriptwriters
of Neighbours ask you to suspend belief completely by suggesting that ex-Liverpool flop Milan
Jovanovic is "one of the greatest [.

He may not have made much of an impression at Anfield, but Serbian attacker Milan Jovanovic is
certainly causing a stir in Belgium.
The Anderlecht player faces a whopping five-year ban after firing an imaginary machine gun at
opposition fans during a goal celebration in the clash with Bruges last month.

Steven Gerrard has praised Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish for replacing high-earning fringe players
such as Joe Cole, Milan Jovanovic and Christian Poulsen with 'hungry' new talent during the
transfer window.
The club captain has suggested Anfield will be a better place without squad misfits such as Cole,
who has joined big-spending French side Lille on a season-long loan - in turn freeing up the former
Chelsea man's rumoured £90,000-a-week wages for new recruits.
Liverpool concluded a productive transfer window with a late surprise when they...
Rafa Benitez undoubtedly signed some brilliant players during his time at Anfield, and the club is
still benefiting from some of the players he signed. However, it's also true to say that Benitez
wasted a lots of money on players who just weren't good enough for Liverpool. It's taken a long
time to rid the club of these highly paid players, but with the departure of Philipp Degen today,
the club is no longer lumbered with Benitez's deadwood.
Liverpool complete their clear-out on hectic transfer deadline day
• Joe Cole loaned to Lille for first refusal on Hazard • Craig Bellamy due to return on free
transfer Joe Cole's loan move to Lille will cost Liverpool more than £3m, after the Premier League
club agreed to pay 60% of his wages in exchange for a first refusal option on the Belgium
midfielder Eden Hazard.
Liverpool Complete Jose Enrique Signing
Liverpool have today completed the signing of Jose Enrique from Newcastle, the club has
confirmed. The deal is worth £6m and the player will pick up £60,000 per week at Anfield. It was
ten days ago that we broke the news that Liverpool had rekindled their interest in Enrique in the
wake of Milan Jovanovic's agreement to join Anderlecht.
We haven't taken it upon ourselves to do too much in terms of season previewing we figure most
of you are already up to speed on how this is the season that Joe Cole makes his impact and the
restorative properties of Christian Poulsen's alice band. By force of habit, though, we've put
together a few assorted ramblings; Noel wrote this non-preview for SBNation a few days ago and
organized a roundtable with other Liverpool bloggers, so this will serve as my supplement to those
posts you'll notice a few similarities between the questions asked and answered in this and the
roundtable post, so go ahead and chime in wherever you'd like.
The difference a year makes. From Hicks and Gillett setting the club's money on fire to FSG opening
the checkbook at will. From an owl-faced over-matched media darling who "deserved a chance" as
manager to the club's greatest living legend. Checking under couch cushions for the privilege of
buying Konchesky and Poulsen to slightly less than £50m spent on Adam, Doni, Downing, Enrique, and
Henderson.
Anderlecht has completed the signing of Milan Jovanovic from Liverpool after the forward failed to
make an impact at Anfield.
The Serbian international joined the club following the 2010 World Cup, while previous boss Roy
Hodgson was at the helm.
The 30-year-old found first team opportunities hard to come by though and was regularly on the
fringes of matchday squads.

Jovanovic Completes Anderlecht Move
Milan Jovanovic has completed his move to Anderlecht, Liverpool have today confirmed. The
Serbian international passed a medical in Belgium yesterday and departs Anfield having spent just
one unhappy, unsuccessful year on Merseyside.
Liverpool are ready to hijack Arsenal's potential move for Belgian playmaker Eden Hazard.
According to Fanatix.com, the Merseyside club is eyeing one more attacking player and has already
made an enquiry for Barcelona winger Ibrahim Afellay.
However, it is unclear how likely it will be to land the Dutchman as he was only signed by the
Catalans in January.
Kenny Dalglish is working hard to shipped out the deadwoods at Anfield to...
Anderlecht has struck a deal to sign out-of-favour striker Milan Jovanovic from Liverpool with the
move expected to go through once the Serbian passes a medical this week.
Jovanovic was brought to Liverpool by former boss Rafael Benitez last summer from Standard Liege
but has since fallen out of favour at Anfield and hasn't started a game for the Reds since January.
Milan Jovanovic is leaving Liverpool to join Anderlecht having been told he has no future at the
club after just one season. Having not seen much playing time, he doesn't have much of a highlight
reel, but he did make the Anfield crowd laugh with a hilarious attempt to head the ball against
Arsenal on the opening day of the season.

Jose Enrique Nears £5m Liverpool Move as Fee Agreed
Following on from Monday's news that Liverpool had rekindled their interest in Newcastle's Jose
Enrique, the player is believed to be close to sealing a £5m switch to Anfield after Newcastle
