Mike Phelan has insisted Manchester United would not consider leaving Patrice Evra out of their
game against Liverpool if he is fully fit.
United's FA Cup fourth-round tie with Liverpool will be the first time they have faced their old
rivals since Evra levelled racism allegations at Luis Suarez that ended with the Uruguay forward
landing an eight-match ban.
Phil Jones was subbed off after 20 minutes in Manchester United's 2-1 victory over Arsenal,
needing a stretcher to take him off the field. Reports from the touchline suggested he had just
twisted his ankle but the following day there were claims he had ligament damage.
However, Mike Phelan has given us hope that Jones could be available for our FA Cup clash at
Anfield.

Despite Luis Suarez being found guilty of racially abusing Patrice Evra, Gus Poyet has continued
to back his countryman, claiming that Evra is "no saint".
In Liverpool's official statement about Suarez's guilty verdict, they falsely claimed that Evra
has made unfounded accusations of racism before.
Carl Markham has written an article for The Independent in response to Luis Suarez
being found guilty of making racist remarks to Patrice Evra.
The FA report: "The two witnesses who say they heard those words directed by Mr Bethell at
Mr Evra are the Manchester United first team coach Mr Mike Phelan and the goalkeeping coach Mr
Richard Hartis.

Its never a surprise when Manchester United are linked with young talented players. The latest in
this list is Dutch player, Ricky van Wolfswinkel who currently plays for Sporting Lisbon. Sir
Alex's assistant Mike Phelan too admitted the club is keen on 22-year-old Dutchman. He moved to
Portugal this summer from Utecht and has netted six goals in last six games, which is impressive.

Manchester United are toasting another

After going seven years without speaking to the BBC, Sir Alex Ferguson has now put an end to the
boycott and will replace Mike Phelan as the voice of Manchester United on MOTD.
"Sir Alex and the BBC have put behind them the difficulties which led to Sir Alex feeling
unable to appear on BBC programmes.
Stephen O'Sullivan points out that if you're playing the best
team in the world, it's never a good idea to make it easy for them.
The Manchester United players and staff queued up last night to hail Barcelona as, amongst
other things, the best team they'd ever seen; Rio Ferdinand ("they were the deserving winners"),
Nemanja Vidic ("we have never played against a team like Barcelona"), even Alex Ferguson himself
("I think it is the best team we have ever played"), all going on record praising their
conquerors.

There were times last season when Manchester United were forced to play Michael Carrick and
Darren Fletcher in the centre of defence due to our crippling injuries.
Currently, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Jonny Evans, Rafael and John O'Shea are all injured,
meaning United are rather thin at the back again.
MANAGING a football club is a highly stressful job as there is an unrelenting pressure to grind
out results week in week out.
The past week has seen two of Britain's most decorated managers wage war on the media for
different reasons after their sides saw their domestic and European ambitions dented
respectively.
Imagine different circumstances surrounding Manchester United's defeat at Liverpool last Sunday.
Leave aside Jamie Carragher's nasty tackle on Nani, Nani's ability to race to the referee before
collapsing in an injured heap and the glorious sight, which may stay with me forever, of referee
Phil Dowd, arms folded, watching from a distance like a disapproving dinner lady on playground duty
at a primary school as players from both sides got their handbags out.
That was a bit lucky. Considering how many Chelsea players underperformed – Lampard, Essien,
Malouda (the footballing schizophrenic, either incredible or seemingly drunk), Anelka, Torres
Chelsea somehow ground out a win. Torres was ever so slightly better, but there is still work to be
done.
