The day after goofing around in the snow and getting their free Audis, Real Madrid were
thoroughly thumped 4-0 in the first leg of their fourth round Copa del Rey tie with third division
side Alcorcon. The loss has been a staggering and embarrassing blow, which has not only put their
Copa campaign in serious doubt, but has manager Manuel Pellegrini on the verge of getting
sacked.
Without doubt the highlight this weekend is the climax of the season in Malaysia with Kelantan
taking on Negeri Sembilan in the Malaysia Cup final at Bukit Jalil. Earlier in the season some
40,000 fans from the north east descended on the nation's capital to see their heroes take on
Selangor in the FA Cup Final only to go home broken hearted.
So firstly, a few interesting happenings this week. Number one is that Matildas star Lisa de Vanna
has been suspended for her little outburst last weekend. From the AAP report, De Vanna was
angry at being substituted in the 31st minute of the Glory's 1-0 win over Adelaide on Saturday. She
swore at coaching staff and a fourth official and also raised her middle finger towards members of
the crowd as she went down the tunnel.
Salt Lake v. Chivas USA
Salt Lake OWES the Eastern Conference. And oh by the way, they've been playing better than anyone
actually in the Eastern Conference. They didn't back in to the playoffs either, like last year's
Western Conference champs. This isn't out of the realm of possibility.
Each time one looks at Luca Toni, he or she is reminded to immediately visit a
pet shop to purchase a cat comb. The word "geeky" cannot even begin to describe this poor man here.
The job of a striker is always to score goals and care for your pets later, but
Toni forgot this important fact when he signed for Bayern (let's not talk about
the Azzurra, amicas) and now, the boss himself, van Gaal wants him out!
Denilson and Diaby were key complementers to Arsenal's defensive and attacking side of the game,
helping the Gunners to a 3-0 win.

In his playing days (and even now as the boss of Selecao), Brazil midfielder Dunga
always seemed to be playing with the metaphorical middle finger up at his critics.
