For many, Sam Hutchinson represents a specter of a foregone era at The Bridge- a time when Jose
Mourinho ran the roost and everyone wondered if we'd ever produce an academy star, to rival the
likes of John Terry, after years of significant investment. Currently, we're replete with inventory
when it comes to young prospects, but once upon a time, this wasn't the case.

Keegan was a guest on "Das aktuelle Sportstudio" back in June 1979 to talk Hamburg and then to
lip-sync to a playback of his song "Head over Heels in Love". The crowd goes berserk by German
standards.
The arrival of Michael Mancienne at Hamburg has invited comparisons to Kevin Keegan's stint up
north, for the sole reason that both are English.

Mario Götze had a fairly decent game against Hamburg compared to his standards and future
potential. Compared to anybody else he played brilliant. Part of his brilliant performance was this
little piece of skill. Welcome to the Bundesliga Michael Mancienne. Don't worry though. It's likely
this will only happen to you twice a season.

Same Old England...Always Losing - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Before the European Championships, Stuart Pearce was given the assignment to prepare England's
under 21′s for what life would be like as part of the full national side. By crashing out at the
group stage in a blaze of glorious failure, Pearce has managed to pass the test in flying
colours.
England under-21 boss Stuart Pearce says he will stay on in the role despite his side's
disappointing showing at the European Championships in Denmark.
Two late goals from the Czech Republic meant Pearce's young side crashed out in only the group
stages of the competition despite both players and management insisting they believed they had the
ability within the squad to win the competition.
Stuart Pearce has rung the changes for England U21's do-or-die clash with the Czech
Republic here in Viborg.
The much-criticised Michael Mancienne makes way at defensive midfield for the more muscular Fabrice
Muamba, while Jack Rodwell and Danny Rose, who both disappointed against Ukraine, are on the bench,
replaced by Tom Cleverley and Scott Sinclair in a 4-2-4 formation with Danny Welbeck and Sturridge
the twin points of attack.
I have seen some poor matches in my time, but Wednesday's England Under-21 European Championship
clash with Ukraine is definitely up there in the 'depressingly dreadful' stakes.
It certainly won't stem the flow of negative headlines that spilled from the back-pages following
their opening game draw with Spain on Sunday.

A rather drab, 'hoofy' goalless draw with Ukraine last night left the England U21s needing a
three-point haul (they also drew their first game with Spain, despite being dismally outplayed)
from their final Group B game against the Czech Republic to progress through to the semis after
Spain's impressive young charges beat the Czechs 2-0 in Wednesday evening's other tie.

Spain grabbed control of Group B with a comprehensive 2:0 victory over the Czech Republic
in Viborg.
Deportivo La Coruna marksman Adrian grabbed a goal in either half to condemn the Czechs to their
first defeat in two years and place Spain a point ahead with a game to play. Valencia midifelder
Juan Mata supplied the bullets with two killer assists for Adrian.
On this week's Gadsby's England roundup, the England U21s are lucky to salvage a draw in their
opening European Championship match against Spain, continued analysis of England's woeful
performance against Switzerland, and God Bless Michael Mancienne – an Englishman finally goes
abroad.

After having proved that he can go out onto the pitch and perform at Premier League level week in,
week out at Bolton, and having already left Manchester City, even after they had been taken over
and had increased the players' wages astronomically, young striker Daniel Sturridge now needs to
decide what the best move is for him to make over the coming months for his career to keep up the
impressive momentum it is currently enjoying.
Amidst the rumors, the speculation, and the gossip of who might be heading to The Bridge this
summer, we take a look at the Exodus of players already leaving the club, along with a list of
potential candidates that could be on their way out in the coming weeks. More after the jump:
I gets what I wants.
Frank Arnesen fancies him some Chelsea players, as evidenced by the latest triumvirate to join
our former sporting director at his new club, HSV Hamburg.
Troubling? A bit, yes. The fees being paid, though? Pissing me right off.

Our latest departure
Hamburg agreed deals for Michael Mancienne and Jacopo Sala last week.
As we all know by now Michael Mancienne has signed for Hamburg, Scott Sinclair has been promoted
after a fantastic season in the Championship at Swansea and Fabio Borini looks like he is about to
sign for Parma on a free transfer. Just three of our "promising" youngsters who have had to make
the move elsewhere to establish themselves within football.
According to Goal, Michael Mancienne is heading to Germany to have a medical tomorrow at Hamburg
and will become their first signing from Chelsea as Frank Arnesen looks to bring some of our
youngsters with him.
Mancienne is reported to be sold for around £3m and unfortunately is another player who has failed
to break through into the Chelsea first team.
Fabio Borini is expected to line up for Swansea tomorrow in the play off final against Reading in
what is considered as the richest game in the world as whoever wins is promoted into the Premier
League. Borini found is chances at Chelsea limited to say the least and as we all know had to go
out on loan to find himself regular first team football and we have to hold our hands up and say he
has done well.
This is a chronological look at Wolves' season, exploring the tactical issues and
themes that came up along the way:
Summer Plans
Mick McCarthy's summer spending appeared to be designed to re-establish a 4-4-2 formation. The
decision to spend £7m on Steven Fletcher would not have been made if he was intended to be Kevin
Doyle's deputy – this was a clear statement that a return to two up front was planned.
England U21 Head Coach, Stuart Pearce, has released the 40-man provisional squad for the Euro
2011 Championship this summer. Three Arsenal players have been named to the squad:
Provisional England Under-21 squad:
Goalkeepers Frank Fielding (Blackburn), Scott Loach (Watford), Jason Steele
(Middlesbrough), Alex McCarthy (Reading).
Mick McCarthy remains assured that his Wolves side will avoid Premier League relegation this
season.
The veteran manager sees his side sitting second bottom of the table after going down 4-3 to
title-chasing Manchester City. Wolves put up a great fight to come back from 4-1 down however it
was not enough to stop the side going down to yet another defeat.
