When it comes down to comparing the great players in the NBA today, Kobe Bryant is someone that
i've always kept as the gold standard because of his ability to compete, desire to win, and proven
track record.
Boston Celtics great Larry Bird saw the Los Angeles Lakers as the enemy during his playing days,
but sees Bryant as the one current player he'd like on his side if he were playing today.
Tom Thibodeau has transitioned from being an outstanding assistant coach in the NBA to the 2010-11
NBA Coach of the Year as the head coach of the Chicago Bulls.
Rick Telander of the Chicago Sun Times writes of what makes Thibodeau such a special coach.
‘‘Before we made the decision to hire him, we did an incredible amount of background work
on all the candidates,'' says Bulls general manager Gar Forman, who with executive vice president
for basketball operations John Paxson signed Thibodeau as the 18th head coach in franchise history
on June 23, 2010.
This video is technically Shunsuke Nakamura belting a free kick onto a moving bus, but it really
qualifies as a pleading attempt for a free kick trick series between the likes of Nakamura,
Juninho, Darijo Srna, et cetera et cetera, just like those old McDonald's trick shot commercials
between Michael Jordan and Larry Bird.
LeBron James picked a team last year. And today, LeBron James has picked a wife. The Miami Heat
superstar proposed to Savannah Brinson, who has been LeBron James' girlfriend since high school.
LeBron and Savannah already have two children together.
Why did LeBron James decide to get engaged now?
Dear David Beckham,
I just wanted to introduce myself first. My name is Matt, I'm 29-years-old and, to be honest, I
didn't really get involved in soccer all that much until 2006. At that time, I was in Iraq. As you
can imagine, soccer is beloved in Iraq, but what got me caught up in it was the fact that I
couldn't friggin' escape it.
In May, Upper Deck Authenticated launched "Suite One-of-One" offering the public one-of-a-kind
collectibles from top athletes like LeBron James, Derrick Rose and others. And now the company has
added some compelling new items that are sure to have people talking.
Upper Deck released a popular trading card set called Goodwin Champions featuring painted images
of top athletes for the trading cards this year.
In our never-ending search for truth, we have consulted a preeminent French cultural expert on a
stunning phenomenon: American celebrities professing love to a UK-based soccer club which has not
won anything for over 6 years. Who? What? Where? When? Why? How? These are the questions that will
not be resolved.

Some Chicago sports fans need a refresher course that the 1980s were not completely centered on
Mike Ditka's 1985 Super Bowl champion Chicago Bears and the phenomenon of Michael Jordan.
The Chicago Sting was the toast of this city at the start of the decade, winning North American
Soccer League crowns in 1981 and 1984.
"Before you win, you need to learn how not to lose."
I can't find a source that credits the person who initiated that quote, but it is something that I
have adapted over the years.
It often applies to young teams that need to draw from adverse situations as learning experiences,
as we currently are at the University of Evansville with 14 of our 25 players as freshmen,
including 7 of 11 starters in last week's 2-1 overtime victory over nationally ranked Memphis.
This design could best accommodate the sporting public's thirst for more consistent drama and
contemporary strategies in Soccer.
New American-style Rules compliment the field's look and extract as much common sense as possible.
Lebron made it chic. Will Vick follow in his footsteps?
Since Lebron's deal to become part owner of Liverpool FC, any pro athlete must be wondering what's
the deal with owning a Soccer club. African-American U.
This column by Eric Giardini. Proof once again that he does, in fact, write for
TSG.
Messi is to Michael Jordan as Pastore is to Magic Johnson
At the conclusion of their 1-0 home loss to Lorient, jeers from the supporters rained down upon
the Paris Saint-Germain players as they left the pitch at the Parc de Princes.
Jurgen Klinsmann faces this!Jurgen Klinsmann ain't no Bob Bradley. He's younger, has slightly more
hair and has won more World Cups albeit by the narrowest of margins, 1-nil.
Now Klinsmann is further burdened by having to coach Bradley's boys. Y'know, the team he molded
into Gold Cup and Confederations Cup finalists.
Nicklas Bendtner's self-belief is literally off the charts. He was once analysed by a
psychologist, who had never met someone with so much confidence in his own ability. This rightly
makes Bendtner a figure of fun amongst football fans, particularly here in England where getting
above oneself is simply not the done thing.
NEW YORK - Ask Steve Nash who's the toughest competitor he's ever faced, and answer is at once
obvious and amazing: Michael Jordan.
Professional sports has probably never seen a championship coach like Phil Jackson. Jackson was the
architect of the NBA World Championships of the Chicago Bulls and the Los Angeles Lakers, and was
able to win by managing the personalities and egos of some of the greatest basketball players in
the history of the game.
"Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships." ~ Michael Jordan "Whoever
said, ''It's not whether you win or lose that counts,'' probably lost." ~ Martina Navratilova "I am
a member of a team, and I rely on the team, I defer to it and sacrifice for it, because the team,

The Indiana Pacers will take on the Chicago Bulls in the first round of the 2010-2011 NBA
Playoffs starting this weekend. It's interesting to look back at some other years when the Pacers
were really bad like in the 1983-1984 season. Our Midwest cousins in Indianapolis were so bad that
year, they qualified to be in a coin flip with the Houston Rockets for the rights to the first pick
of the 1984 Draft.
televisión a color.
Since the Charlotte Bobcats replaced Larry Brown as head coach with Paul Silas, the team has
looked like a team headed to the playoffs. As a result, Michael Jordan and the Bobcats have given
Paul Silas the full-time head coaching gig and removed the interim label. Additionally, Paul Silas
was given a new contract for next season.
With many believing he is Arsenal's best centre back in the absence of Thomas Vermaelen, Swiss
International Johan Djourou confessed he was inspired by Michael Jordan to be a winner in sports.
Speaking to Arsenal TV ...
Back in the early 90's, McDonald's had an epic ad campaign featuring basketball superstars
Michael Jordan and Larry Bird, and in these ads they played H-O-R-S-E for the lofty prize of
roadblocked arteries, only on a scale befitting their audacious abilities (both the game and their
arteries).
