Apropos: Hand of Henry Loves MJ # 23

Never Captain Nicky Butt 19 November @ 11:23 AM EST
Looks like a carry to me, but if it was Iverson they'd let it slide
The Daily Mail has a nice assortment of photoshopped Thierry Henry specials sent in by jokesters around the internet - and this one seemed to me to make the most sense because of Henry's past professed love for the Chicago Bulls. Click to continue reading...

British Journalists Have a Lousy Deal, and the Fans Suffer for It

EPL Talk 04 November @ 01:03 PM EST

I once read about a British sports journalist's amazement at the access that American sportswriters had. The British writer was visiting Chicago and asked to tag along with the Sun Times reporter who covered the Bulls. First, he went to a Bulls practice, and after the practice was over, the Chicago reporter ambled up to Scottie Pipen and Phil Jackson and asked a few questions.

This week in Mourinho’s tongue

Dirty Tackle 02 November @ 03:19 PM EST

When we last left Jose Mourinho's tongue, it was being stuck out at the crowd after an injury time winner against Udinese. Here it makes another appearance, albeit just a cameo, after Inter's second goal against Livorno on Sunday, accompanied by some kind of Michael Jackson type hand motion.

I want proof of greatness

La Liga Report 29 October @ 08:41 AM EST

This Saturday and Sunday Barca, Real Madrid, and Valencia all have matches against undermatched opponents. The thing is: I'm not expecting blowouts. No, I'm thinking we have some real issues on our hands.Â

Barca gets Osasuna, Real Madrid gets Getafe, and Valencia gets Malaga. I know these seem like easy wins but I'm not sure of anything anymore.

Is Donovan America’s Best Ever?

Soccer Tickets Online 25 October @ 07:00 AM EST

First off, I must admit that I hate it in sports when a person is titled Best Ever. Is Michael Jordan the best basketball player ever? If I were to say no then people would be all over me. They would name his championship titles, MVP trophies, signature dunks, and Gatorade commercials as evidence of this.

Ferdinand’s Own Goal a Sign of Man U’s Power

English Premier league 03 October @ 03:25 PM EST

I know, I know, it sounds silly. Â Anton Ferdinand puts in an own goal and gives Manchester United a draw (which allows them to stay atop the EPL rankings) and that somehow exhibits Man U's power? Â It does. Â Let me show you.

Remember, I'm writing from an American Sports perspective.

Pele v. America

The Beautiful Game (2) 02 October @ 10:16 AM EST
The Brazilian legend is trying everything he can to get Rio the 2016 Olympics.
How greedy can they be down there right? The 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympics?
Pele also had a slip o' the tongue and said 'Michael Jackson' when he meant to say 'Michael Jordan'.
Ouch. Click to continue reading...

PELÉ DEBUTÓ CON MICHAEL JACKSON ¿O MICHAEL JORDAN?

TREMENDAMENTE MOTIVADOS 30 September @ 06:52 PM EST
Should Soccer Have a Visible Game Clock?

The Offside 21 September @ 11:41 AM EST
Plenty of controversy following Sunday's Manchester derby and Michael Owen's late late winner for Man Utd. I don't want to get into the question of whether added time works differently at Old Trafford (and other Big Four stadiums) than it does elsewhere. We could debate whether the minimum four minutes of added time, plus Bellamy's goal [. Click to continue reading...

Who’s Going to Separate? Is It Too Early to Tell…

La Liga Report 18 September @ 09:30 AM EST

With Barcelona, Valencia, Real Madrid and Bilbao all atop the standings it appears that someone needs to step up and separate themselves from the pack. Unfortunately, it's too early to tell who that will be.

I spent an entire previous column lamenting how the major acquisitions for Real Madrid might derail their entire club:Â Well, right now they're making me look good.

MJ Confuses Me

The Offside - Houston 11 September @ 02:57 PM EST

If you've watched ESPN today, you have seen much hoopla regarding Michael Jordan's induction into the basketball Hall of Fame. Hoopla - get it? Basketball hoops? OK, if you've seen his interview you may remember that he attributes his success to playing each game like it's his last. That's the part that doesn't make sense.

FC Boro 08 September @ 05:18 PM EST

Stevenage continued their recent improvement, brushing aside Eastbourne Borough 2-0 at Broadhall Way. Boro dominated the game throughout and could of won by more had the 3 strikers of Boylan, Cole and Beardsley had their shooting boots on.

Westley named a 4-3-3 formation with Michael Bostwick, Joel Byrom and Stacy Long all starting in midfield.

Ronaldo to Madrid for Record Transfer Amount, or Rooting for Laundry is Passe

Starting Eleven 11 June @ 09:28 AM EST
I am at a loss for the written word today. Cristiano Ronaldo is going to Real Madrid. The deal is for a record transfer amount of $131 million. It will be completed by the end of the month. Kaka who?

Frankly, I don't care. Honestly. I'm not a Real Madrid fan; nothing personal, just not my club. I like to watch them play, I watch El Classico without fail.
