Eight red cards, thirty two goals and more talking points than a Peter Andre exclusive, Gameweek
11 had everything. Even by the implausibly high standards set in Fantasy Football, this week was a
bit special.
Whether you winced as Shay Given batted away James McFadden's penalty, rejoiced as Jamie
Carragher finally got his comeuppance, or sat indifferently as Phil Brown's tenure at Hull
approached its conclusion, chances are you will have had an exciting last seven days in the world
of Fantasy Football.

Werder Bremen forward Aaron Hunt has rejected England's advances and has said that he will only

Interesting story in Bild recently, suggesting that Fabio Capello has been asking Stuart Pearce
to keep an eye on Werder Bremen's 23 year old attacking mid/forward Aaron Hunt, who you can see
above scoring twice for Werder Bremen (in white) this weekend. The second goal (which tied the game
at 2-2) is an absolute cracker of a chest-volley combo.

After a very impressive start to the season, the recent three game winless run (although
undefeated) has brought one or two frustrations from fans to the fore.
None moreso than the continued form of Micah Richards.
As rapid as his ascent was, coming into the side as a teenager and marking a first team spot as his
own before catapulting himself into the international fold, his subsequent decline has been
anything but.

Yesterday's 2-2 draw against Fulham felt more like a capitulation than a draw. Walking away from
Eastlands on a cold, wet Sunday evening, the first questions that came to mind were as follows. Was
this an aberration? Or have we just taken a massive step back into last season?
I try not to be a pessimist, nor the fan who has a short memory.

Who will make that plane? (I.e who should be in the squad for the World Cup Finals as opposed to
who will construct the airplane itself.)
With England firmly through to the World Cup Finals next summer we can look forward to long
balmy nights in and outside pubs/bars enjoying the festivities and also having a team to support,
hopefully Ireland will also make it through the play-offs as well.

Mark Hughes eyes up talented Brazilian.

A young talent who could well fit in nicely at the Emirates.
Many reports suggest that Manchester City's talented defender Micah Richards is ready to quit
the club in order to get his fledgling career back on track and it seems that Mark Hughes' loss
could be Arsenal's gain.
Arsene Wenger is an admirer of the 21 year old England international who for some unknown reason
can't manage to secure a steady run in the first team and he has apparently had a running spat with
the boss and coaching staff but the £15m rated Birmingham lad is a top notch talent who can only
get better.

The England U21's continued their qualification campaign for the 2011 European Championships v.

The hamstring injury which ruled him out of Argentina's games during the current international

Ryan Giggs is rolling back the years. He is going to be 36 in November. But like Benjamin
Button, he seems like he is only getting younger. You would think we someone as good him, he can't
be 35, approaching 36. Coming on as a substitute with the score at 0-0 against Stoke, his impact
was priceless.

Having edged into the fourth round of the Carling Cup, albeit with an ultimately monotonous
performance, the Premier League returns for United on Saturday and a somewhat tricky trip to the
Britannia Stadium awaits.
Stoke have started the season in a pretty decent fashion having picked up seven points already
and been extremely unfortunate not to have come away with something more last weekend against
Bolton and previously against Chelsea too.

Mark Hughes heaped on the praise following last night's 2-1 victory over Fulham:
"It was a difficult night. Fulham scoring first was exactly what they wanted. They were
very well organised, with plenty of players behind the ball and difficult to break down.
"We had to be patient, keep the ball moving and create things, because with Craig, Carlos and
Shaun up front knocking high balls into their penalty box isn't an option.

For "Collymore closing in..." in 1996, you can read "It's Michael Owen..." in
2009. Both games were littered with brilliant goals, pathetic defending and some of the most
exciting football the Premier League has seen. Now though, two days on from "The Greatest
Manchester Derby in the History of Anything Anytime Ever", it is surely the time to look back
on it with a more tactical eye.

If you told a hardened rugby or cricket aficionado that Real Madrid and Manchester City had
spent around £340m between them this Summer, they would tell you the old cliché that football is
just about money and big egos as opposed to other sports. Do they have a point?
You might argue that Manchester City's millions are a good thing for the game as it breaks up
the monopoly of the "big four" clubs in the Premier League.

Long ago, P.J. O'Rourke in his book A Parliament of Whores said,
"You can't get rid of poverty by giving people money."
I just can't help myself relating it to Manchester City.
The transfer window is closed. And, Manchester City, backed by big bucks, have spent near to
£120 million in this single summer transfer window and around £200 million overall since last
summer.

After confidently predicting that Man City will win the league this year, it is with great
delight and a degree of smugness that I've watched Mark Hughes' men confidently open their campaign
with a 100% record and zero goals conceded. That's right all you naysayers.... Zero goals conceded!
Oh, how the so called experts carped on about City's vulnerabilities at the back, about how they
will win or lose each game 4-3.

After the no-news being reported as news, the past twenty-four hours or so have seen a few articles

There was a report in The Telegraph that suggest Terry may be disenchanted with Chelsea having not
landing a marquee name in the transfer market so far, and that he was seeking 'clear the air' talks
with Roman Abramovich.
