Miami Ultras
It's all over the internet this week, but it's been talked about for a few years now. David Beckham is going to be part of an ownership group that would bring a Major League Soccer team to Miami.
The case for Miami:
Miami is becoming a soccer hub and growing soccer scene: Home to CONCACAF, Traffic Sports, beIN Sport, Univision-ABC, Telemundo, US training base, new owner of World Football Challenge, NASL, GolTV, and all the soccer stars who own homes here.
Michelle Kaufman of the Miami Herald wrote about it on her Total Futbol blog yesterday:
"Miami may not have an MLS team anymore, but apparently it still has MLS fans. The league has discovered that Miami is one of the top three television markets for MLS games among non-MLS cities, along with San Diego and Atlanta.
Last night on Telefutura's Contacto Deportivo, Ivan Kasanzew (Twitter: @elcondek)asked David
Beckham if he will bring Major League Soccer (MLS) to Miami!
There has been a constant rumors that Marcelo Claure, CEO of Brightstar and owner of Bolivia's most
popular team Bolivar has contacted David Beckham in hopes of bringing a team to Miami.
Two great teams will play in Miami! Check out the press release: MIAMI (May 7, 2012) – The eyes
of the soccer world will focus on South Florida again this summer when two of Europe's most storied
clubs, England's Chelsea FC and Italy's AC Milan, face-off at Sun Life Stadium at 6:00 p.m. on
Saturday, July 28 as part of the World Football Challenge.

Garber on January 8, 2011. None of the video is professional so bear with us. The video does give
you a little taste of what it was like to be there.
If you haven't read all the progress made in South Florida be sure to check out www.
This past Sunday South Florida Soccer fans met up at Mickey Byrnes Irish Pub in Hollywood to watch
the MLS Cup Final between the L.A. Galaxy and the Houston Dynamo. For more on the game go HERE
Just prior to the watch party the Ultras organized their 1st ever PS3 FIFA '12 tournament led by
Mitch Rivera (Twitter: @mrivera2010 ) A total of 8 players showed up on time to be included in the
roster (A few others were left out for not showing up on time).
The Ultras will host South Florida's MLS Cup Final watch party at Mickey Byrnes Irish Pub this
Sunday! Be sure to show up early as there will be food and drink specials.Game time is 9 PM.
Prior to the game we are having a Playstation FIFA 12 Tournament! If you'd like to participate let
us know so we can include you in the bracket.
The Miami Ultras organized a Major League Soccer watch party at Mickey Byrnes Pub in Hollywood this
past Sunday which also had the gracious presence of former Los Angeles Galaxy playmaker and ex
Salvadoran national team player Mauricio Cienfuegos.
It was a great experience to be next to the MLS Cup and to be able to pose with it in pictures
before it headed West to L.
The Miami Ultras invite everyone to watch the Major League Soccer Playoffs featuring the genuine
MLS Cup trophy!
Our special guest will be one of Major League Soccer's best playmakers of all time, LA Galaxy and

Come by Mickey Byrne's Irish Pub & Restaurant http://www.
The Strikers could have wrapped up the game versus the Atlanta Silverbacks in the first 45 minutes
of their game this past Saturday at Lockhart stadium. They had a myriad of shots and chances, yet
their lousy aim thwarted each effort. The second half was a whole different story as Atlanta nearly
beat the Strikers with a 90th minute goal.
Ex Miami Fusion captain and current Fort Lauderdale Strikers Assistant coach Jim Rooney was our
guest last night on Miami Ultras Alive.
Rooney was gracious enough to answer our questions about his Fusion days, including a number of
anecdotes concerning Ray Hudson's underwear and a his own sports bra (In tribute to Brandi
Chastain's World Cup goal) inspired celebration during the MLS All Star game.
Gold Cup in Miami was a success as over 18,000 people showed up to watch the beautiful game. FIU
stadium was packed and the ambiance was spectacular. Every seat was a good one and it felt as if
you could reach out and touch the players due to the proximity of the field to the stands. It's a
great stadium to watch soccer and I dare say the only thing that I didn't like was that the ball
made a few weird bounces due to the plastic turf.
Julio Caballero, VP of the Miami Ultras has formed a group called La Academia which is exclusively
dedicated to bringing Major League Soccer back to South Florida. They also organize MLS watch
party's and will soon lead a pilgrimage of South Florida soccer fans to invade an MLS game to
support our bid for MLS in Miami.
MLS Futbolito is here in Miami and it starts this Sunday May 22.
Come out and check out this great 4 vs 4 tournament! It's at Kendall Soccer Park located at 8011 SW
127th Ave Miami, FL 33183. This event will have many sponsor booths, activities and you will also
be able to be part of Univision's Republica Deportiva TV show.
The Strikers came from behind last night to tie the Minnesota Stars thanks to Chacho Coudet's last
minute penalty.
Over 4,000 souls showed up to see a tough match where the Strikers dominated most of the game, but
could not convert. You can read more about it at www.strikers.com
Following are pictures and video followed by links to other sites with Strikers news and pictures.

Here is a recap of South Florida Soccer news for today.
Fort Lauderdale Strikers
The Sun Sentinel announced yesterday that the Strikers will have a press conference today to
announce that Tim Robbie will take over as the Strikers President, replacing Aaron Davidson who
will now concentrate on his role as NASL CEO.
Throughout Sports history there are fans who have become an insignia or symbol of a team. The
Lakers have Jack Nicholson, The Knicks have Spike Lee... The Miami Fusion had Burrito.
Very little is know about this mysterious and solitary soul. According to Burrito he was Born one
cold night in the year of our lord 1998 in the city of Toluca, Mexico.
Ay Chihuahua!
Burrito half new girlfriend Señores y Señoritas!
Her name is Jessica Rose Jones and she light Burrito's fire! Not only is she a mamacita but she
also like Futbol! Talk about scoring a Goooool! She is the new Fort Lauderdale Strikers
Spokesmodel! But enough bark... ummm talk!
Burrito is back! And want The Ultras and Flight 19 to learn and sing this song for the Strikers vs
FC Edmonton game this Friday!
Vamos Strikers! Lets show them putos they come to Lockhart to lose! Defend the pinche Fort!
Blame Canada, Blame Canada
It seems that everythings gone wrong
since Canada came along,
blame Canada, blame Canada
They're not even a real country anyway!
This Sunday March 11, at 12:00 pm The Ultras will be hosting a PS3 FIFA 12 Tournament & MLS First
Kick Watch Party for the Red Bulls vs FC Dallas.
Come join us for some fun times at Fritz & Franz Bierhaus in Fort Lauderdale - 2861 East Commercial
Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308 Telf: 954.530.
The Strikers played a poor game versus rivals FC Tampa this past Saturday in front of about 3700
fans that came out to enjoy a great pre-game atmosphere thanks to over 15 Miami Food trucks. As
usual the supporters started their tailgate early and even created a TIFO poking fun at FC Tampa
aka Rowdies.
Burrito not write in long times cause he peed-off with Los Estrikers!
The team is playing like poopoo! They need to play with huevos! Don't they know who used to wear
the Red and Gold? Don't they know Burrito's compadre Ray Hudson used to wear #4? Or that Teófilo
Cubillas used to wear #10?
Burrito ponders, Burrito chews on chew toy, then bites an old chicken bone, then back to chew toy.
Strikers fans made the trip to St Pete to support their team. It was a tough loss but it was a fun
experience.

Did you listen to Miami Ultras Alive yesterday?
MagicJack remain undefeated as they defeated the Atlanta Beat 2-0 in a Women's Professional Soccer
League game played Sunday at FAU Soccer Field.
The magicJack outshot Atlanta 17-1, including putting 10 shots on goal and having the
edge 6-0 on corner kicks.
Pressure was applied early by magicJack with Masar scoring at the 23-minute mark from inside five
yards on an assist from Lindsay Tarpley.
The haters of Miami as a soccer town were out in full force last week as it was announced that
fewer than 6800 tickets had been sold for the USA vs Honduras game to be played at Sun Life
Stadium. The game hadn't even been played yet and already they were bashing.
In the end over 21,000 showed up on a wet night to watch the United states defeat Honduras 1-0
thanks to a wonderful goal by Clint Dempsey.
As the United States men's national team gets ready for their showdown with Honduras this Saturday
8th at 6 PM (Tickets still available!) South Florida American Outlaws and all fans of the beautiful
(including the Miami Ultras) game were honored to spend some time with forward Jozy Altidore, a one
time South Florida resident.
