2009 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship Sunday evening.
Thirty-nine conferences were awarded automatic qualification for the 2009 championship. Three
teams were selected from Pool B, which consists of independent institutions, and institutions that
are members of conferences that do not meet the requirements for automatic qualification.

College may not have been ranked nationally this preseason like last years top teams Carlton and
Augsburg were, but evidently MIAC coaches know something about the team that the NCAA folks don't.
They have the Gusties ranked #1 in their preseason poll and Gustavus did not disappoint the

Former MN Thunder goalkeeper, Jon Lowery has been named coach of Hamline Men's Soccer program.
A native of Apple Valley, MN., he led Apple Valley High to a 1992 State title and was the
1994 Minnesota Gatorade Player of the Year. Lowery's collegiate career began at the University of
Wisconsin-Green Bay in 1995.
