Well, here we go, let's give this a try. This Interlull hasn't been as kind as the last one. Inner
ear problem or Amsterdam? You'd have to be as thick as a Spud to chose the ear thing, but given
that there was no choice involved on my part my intelligence levels can in no way be
comparable. And just so you know, despite what Jamrock says, The Verve did lie. Click to continue reading...
Friday has arrived, only one day to get through until we play again.
I am just glad November 5th is now over for another year – I don't like Fireworks!!
Sadly though, nowadays November 5th seems to go on for about a week, so I anticipate more
tonight and over the weekend Few odd bits of gossip around late yesterday evening and early today.
Maddy's Note: Our man Felipe is back, bringing you a great take on thhe
Carling Cup encounter which he was THERE for. Who would expect a team of kids to beat a very
experienced and solid Liverpool? One one would say Arsenal were favourites, but I just have to
confess I didn't think that way until the kick-off yesterday. Click to continue reading...
Another great win in the Milk Cup for the Arsenal thanks to two crackers from Merida and
Bendtner.
Though fatigue set in at the end, it was another feather in the cap for Wenger's second string.
It seems to happen every year, yet every year it still surprises me how much potential there is
bubbling under the surface at the club.
Goals from Fran Merida, a 19 years old former Barcelona trainee, and Nicklas Bendtner were enough
to see off Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium last night. Emiliano Insua's spectacular volley could
not change the outcome of the game. Arsene Wenger's crop of talented youngsters sends Liverpool
out of English League Cup with a 2-1 scoreline. Click to continue reading...
Hello Gooners. Well that was close as well, just like the previous two games. Where was the 3-1
I predicted? As it turns out we didn't need that third goal.
You won't agree but for me Liverpool probably shaded it by virtue of the opportunities they
created.
The journey continues for Wenger and Arsenal as they knock Liverpool out in the fourth round
Carling Cup clash at Ashburton Grove. As it often is with the second cup competition in England,
Wenger put his faith in the lesser lights of his squad. Silvestre took the armband with Senderos as
his centerback partner in front of the returning Fabianski.
Cavalieri Degen Skrtel Kyrgiakos Insua Spearing Plessis Kuyt Voronin Babel Ngog Goals: Merida 19' Insua 26' Bendtner 50' Any loss is disappointing, especially when the team's already lost six, but this one doesn't sting
too bad. Arsenal, with Nasri, Bendtner, and Eduardo in the line-up, didn't exactly play the Super
Teens, and probably deserved their victory. Click to continue reading...
Arsenal beat Liverpool 2-1 at The Emirates to knock us out of The Carling Cup tonight. A goal by youngster Merida on 19mins was cancelled out by Emeliano Ensua stunning volley on
26mins. This left the sides level on half-time in an open and lively encounter. Nicolas Bendtner scored a Torres-style goal on 50mins to give Arsenal the lead again and even
though Liverpool came at them in waves, they could not find the breakthrough they deserved. Click to continue reading...

Let's face it. We all remember Julio Baptista once played for Arsenal on a season long loan from
Real Madrid. Jose Antonio Reyes went the other way in the same deal. I don't know about you but for
the life of me, I can't remember much of his performance during that season bar for one.
Wenger got the team wrong last night. But first, it's important to recognise a couple of
things. Firstly, a draw away in Europe is never a bad result. We had six points on the board, now we have
seven. So despite Alkmaar's last minute equaliser we're sure to go through. Which is more than can
be said for Liverpool. Click to continue reading...
Internationals breaks rarely make for interesting viewing. Even this one, which concludes the
group stages in Europe, only has a few games that actually mean anything, and won't be half as
exciting as the playoffs that follow. Those, of course, are being seeded at the last minute because
FIFA panicked at the possibility of two of the big guns facing each other and causing one to miss
the showpiece.
Not only do we have the wonder boy Cesc from Spain, the dodgy waiter turned keeper, the very
cute looking Merida, now we have another exciting prospect signed on the professional dotted line,
that is Ignasi (San) Miquel – Nice beer
The young Spanish defender, who turned 17 last week, joined Arsenal in the summer and already
has high hopes for his future with the Club – well lad, if you turn out to be anything like two
of the three mentioned, then we are all going to be happy, very very happy!
It's getting near that time when even I would travel up to the chilly north of our fine country,
but maybe that's because ‘those lights' are soon to be turned on in Blackpool!!
On that note, this coming Saturday I think it will be the Mighty Arsenal who will shine as
bright as those Blackpool Illuminations, and come away with three points at least.
On 22 September Arsenal host West Bromwich Albion in the Carling Cup. This competition has
been used by Wenger as breeding ground for youngsters and for fringe first team players to make a
claim for a first team start.
Despite treating the competition with some disdain, Arsenal have reached the final once and the
semi-final on three other occasions.
SPAIN has two important upcoming WORLD CUP 2010 Group matches;BELGIUM on the 5th of September at
home (A Coruña) & ESTONIA onthe 9th of September also at home (Merida). With this task at
handSpanish National Team Coach & Selector Vicente del Bosque hashanded in his list of Spanish
players to make up the Team, with thenovelty being the return of Villareal midfielder MARCOS SENNA. Click to continue reading...
Fabregas, Denilson and Sagna all passed fit as Arsene Wenger names the same eleven who eased
past Everton. Bendtner and Van Persie will therefore start up front.
Thomas Vermaelen is fit and starts for Arsenal in their first Premiership game of the season.
Eduardo is on the bench as Bendtner teams-up with Van Persie up front. Jack Wilshere and Carlos
Vela not even on the bench.
Jjoin the discussion in our comments section which will also be active when the game
kicks-off.
Short and sweet today and there's no new news on the arrival of Chamakh, Vieira, Huntelaar,
Hangeland or Santa Claus, but Chamakh has been having a little hissy fit over the whole thing If
that's the attitude he is going to be bringing with him we'd be better without.

Ok, Ok, I know, there was no blog yesterday. Blame the internet pixies for spreading their love
in the form of viruses (or should we blame me for downloading stuff I just should have left alone?
Nah, let's not do that). By the time I got my laptop cleared yesterday it was bedtime and then I
had work first thing today, and then it was late afternoon and there seemed no point as it would
have put me all out of whack for today's blog, and blah blah blah.
Arsenal wins the more or less meaningless Emirates Cup with a dominant performance against
Rangers. Jack Wilshere puts in a man of the match performance with 2 goals, and Arsenal controlled
the match from start to finish. More importantly, this is 2 good performances in 2 days, both
coming against clubs in the Champions League.
In whats been a slow news week there has been a flood of stories surrounding our club over the
weekend.
Big Phil, Swiss Tony or Senderlump, whatever you want to call him has now become a target for
Steve Bruce's Sunderland. Senderslug has never really made the CB spot his own in his time at
Arsenal and Wenger's decision to let him leave to join Milan on loan with a view to make the deal
permanent,  gave the impression Sir Arsene didn't really see a future for him at the
Emirates.
When the season started we expected the likes of Randall and Merida to make an impact in the
first team. Neither however succeeded on that front, in fact the player who took his chance and
has leapfrogged these players is Kieran Gibbs.
With Armand Traore on loan, most people expected Silvestre to understudy Clichy, but injuries to
Silvestre opened the door for Gibbs.
