Just this past month we learned that Chicago lost out on a bid to host the 2016 Olympics. The University of Minnesota's TCF Bank Stadium was on a short list to host Olympic soccer should Chicago have won that bid.

CHARLIE DAVIES OUT OF INTENSIVE CARE UNIT

Positive news continues to come from the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., as U.S. Men's National Team forward Charlie Davies moved out of the ICU on Saturday, Oct. 17. Davies has been able to speak and receive visitors.

There's still not a lot of new information coming in on the accident that Charlie Davies was involved with early Tuesday morning. There is still no word on who the driver is or their condition.

Steven Goff was reporting this morning that US coach Bob Bradley visited Charlie on Wednesday morning and that he was responding to doctors but was still heavily sedated.

It took 95 minuets but the US Mens Soccer team seemed to will themselves into finishing atop their CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying group.

Bryan Ruiz scored a brace within minutes of each other for Costa Rica. Those goals in the 21st and 24th minute of play capitalized on the few chances the Ticos had been allowed up until that point.

My first trip to the Sweetwater Bar and Grille was after a Minnesota Thunder game back in (I believe) 2004. Saeed Ghasemi, the owner of the Sweetwater had worked out a deal with a relative who happened to be the owner of the Minnesota Thunder.
