It looks like members of the Sporting KC Juniors system will have some big decisions to make this
coming fall. The rumor making the run around the internet today is that the US Soccer Developmental
Academy will be making changes to the season, making it longer. The announcement sounds like it
could even come tomorrow.
I meant to get this up last night, but had some technical difficulties with Blogger. A day later,
there's still a lot swirling around in my head after hearing the news that Harry Keough had passed
away. Many of those swirling things are memories, which is funny because for a long time I didn't
actually realize who he was.
I 7-1 to be a Blackburn fan? No, it doesn't quite work, does it. One day we'll get to the promised
land of an 8 goal victory, and all the wonderful pun-based jokes this allows. For today, I think 7
will do. My thoughts as follows:
* We started brightly, and scored after only 2 minutes.

We all have our ghosts. For Steve Zakuani, that ghost is memories of his former self.
As the Seattle Sounders midfielder continues his recovery from a horrific leg injury that cost
him the final six months of the 2011 season, the progress he has made is obvious. On Friday,
Zakuani was able to participate in full training for the first time since that April 22 tackle
broke his right leg.
Dickie V is legendary. Any college basketball fan from over the last 30 years recognizes the face
and the voice. He is ubiquitous. He has crisscrossed the country hundreds, maybe thousands of
times.
This commercial probably won't air on regular TV. The spot is only found on the Bridgestone Tire

According to a report in The Telegraph Fenway Sports Ground have made the long awaited decision
to build a new stadium on Stanley Park.
The report claims that the owners have decided to go with the original architects AFL, which
means the plans which former owner Tom Hicks had selected from Dallas architects HKS have now been
scrapped.
It's a question that can make some people uncomfortable but I think it deserves some
consideration.
Many seem to agree that last season crashing out of all three Cups in a short span of time flung
the squad into a confidence depriving free fall that the manager could not curtail. It had a
massive impact on the players' psyche, Arsenal's league position at the end of the season, and
quite possibly played a part in some of the summer's transfers.
As we near the beginning of the second MLS campaign in Portland Timbers history, we find
ourselves saying goodbye to one of the most unintentionally polarizing players from our first
season in MLS: Kenny "F-ing" Cooper.
Please use this thread to share your memories, both positive and negative, of Coop's time in
Portland.
Paul Scholes is back to Utd
Man Utd is making Rob Smyth eat his words. Wayne Rooney has scored two including a penalty and
Danny Welbeck's wondrous volley rounds of the tally.
Vincent Kompany was sent off in the 12th minute for a two footed tackle on Nani which got the
ball but not the man however Chris Foy, who else (memories of the Spurs vs Stoke match linger on)
thought differently.
If there's a better way to celebrate your birthday than with a trip to Cowdenbeath's Central Park
then I'm not sure what it is.
Obviously seeing your team winning on said trip would be something of a bonus but that's in the
hands of Pat Fenlon and his less than merry band. Drink shall either dull the pain or intensify the
joy.
Just a speck of the memories we will carry into the new year. Thank you 2011 for all the
fun.

Landon Donovan had his first training session with Everton on Friday, officially kicking off his
second loan spell with the club.
"We're delighted to have Landon back, he's trained today and it's easy for him to settle in with
a great group of boys here who will make it easy for him," Everton manager David Moyes said during
his Friday press conference.
The death of long time North Korean leader Kim Jung Il was greeted with shed loads of tears by

Fulham has won four English Premier League games this season, and each time Clint Dempsey has
scored. Dempsey added to his American career record with his 38th EPL goal and an assist for Fulham
in its 2-0 win over Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

Let's start with the obvious shall we. The Champions League draw takes precedent and rightly so.
The biggest tournament in club football today and the 2nd round draw took place without any
Manchester clubs in it. For our efforts of finishing top of our group, we were rewarded with a date
against AC Milan.

There has been some exciting, fast running Victory teams over the past seven years but this is not
one of them.
In fact I'm close to declaring it the worst team the Victory has ever produced.
When you see Danny Allsopp and Archie Thompson lining up together it might bring back memories for
older players but fans of the game know that partnership is little threat.
We fear that all of these book-related events are going to make us do something crazy, so we
present you this last one before drinking away the memories.
It wouldn't be a proper scene if these two were necking in the corner front row.
