Before we get to the attendance wrap-up, here are some bonus business items from the press Q&A Commissioner Garber did with the print/online media at the All-Star Game.

1. Still trying to put a second team in New York, but Cosmos are not the only option. Believes the Wilpons would make excellent soccer owners and noted that Citi Field had hosted a WFC match the night before the ASG.

Dave basically reported on this earlier in the week, but on Tuesday Sounders GM Adrian Hanauer confirmed that the Seattle Sounders will be essentially selling as many tickets as people want to buy for Thursday's match against the New York Red Bulls. The match was originally being marketed as part of a package deal that also got you a ticket to the July 20 friendly against Manchester United and the home finale against the San Jose Earthquakes.

Before we get to our weekly attendance roundup, here a couple of business related stories from the weekend that was. We'll start with popular radio program World Football Daily, where I was invited to chat with the hosts for 25 minutes on Friday about the business of the American game. This was my third time on the program and it is always fun.

Saturday night's Gold Cup quarterfinals ended with a tiebreaker in game one to put Honduras through to the semifinals where they will face Mexico on Wednesday in Houston. After dominating Group A, Mexico needed two second-half goals to put Guatemala out of the tournament. In the early game, Honduras went ahead three minutes into the second-half at the New Meadowlands when Jerry Bengtson scored.

In a game where world superstar Lionel Messi played the full 90, it was the United States with the surprise comeback in front of 78,936 at the New Meadowlands. After sustained pressure throughout the first-half, Argentina finally got on the board when Esteban Cambiasso scored in the 42nd minute. The United States made two changes at the half, giving Timmy Chandler his first cap and bringing on forward Juan Agudelo.

By Clemente Lisi – JERSEY CITY, NJ (Mar 25, 2011) US Soccer Players – After having their last friendly cancelled due to unrest in Egypt, the United States faces Argentina on Saturday at the New Meadowlands. This is the first time in 2011 we'll see a first-choice US squad, facing off against a World power they last played in August of 2008.

On Friday, Argentina coach Sergio Batista announced his roster for the two-game series in the United States. Argentina open against the USA at the New Meadowlands on March 26th before travelling to Costa Rica to open the new National Stadium on March 29th. GK: Mariano Andujar (Catania), Adrian Gabbarini (Independiente), Sergio Romero (AZ Alkmaar) DEF: Javier Zanetti (Inter Milan), Pablo Zabaleta (Manchester City), Ezequiel Garay (Real Madrid), Gabriel Milito (Barcelona), Nicolas Otamendi (Porto), Federico Fazio.

It was certainly likely, but now it's official. Due to the ongoing political turmoil in Egypt, US Soccer has announced that our friendly set for February 9th has been canceled. There were supposedly efforts made to move the match to another regional stadium, but in the end, it's off. With so little time to plan, it has also been decided that the US will not try to schedule a different match on that matchday.

The United States will play Argentina on March 26th at the New Meadowlands and Paraguay on March 29th in Nashville, the US Soccer Federation announced on Thursday. Both games fall on international match days. "Argentina continues to be one of the most talented teams in the world, and we are excited to have the opportunity to compete against them," US coach Bob Bradley said.
