It's not that the tackle is malicious or indeed particularly violent, its just so damn matter of factly delivered as if to say "I can't be bothered to chase after you, So I am just going to chop you down where you stand!

DTotD: A bit late

Celtic captain Stephen McManus earned a straight red for his waaaay late challenge on Hearts striker Andy Driver just before the final whistle in Hearts' 1-0 CIS Insurance Cup quarterfinal win on Wednesday.

The referee initially only showed McManus a yellow card, but then the assistant ref pulled him aside and side something to the effect of "Are you serious?

Tony Mowbray - new Celtic Manager

According to the London Times, Tony Mowbray will be installed as the new manager of Glasgow Celtic. He leaves behind a relegated West Bromwich Albion, but this is a good move for both Celtic and Mowbray. Tony did a great job getting WBA promoted in the first place. O'Dea contemplating Celtic future

Celtic and Ireland defender Darren O'Dea admits he may leave Celtic if he cannot maintain his first-team spot.
The 22-year-old, who scored Celtic's opener in Sunday's Co-operative Insurance Cup final win over Rangers, almost joined Burnley in January.
"I'd rather be playing somewhere else than not playing at all," he told BBC Radio Scotland.

  • Tom McManus has apparently been released by the Rapids. It was reported on BigSoccer and appears to be confirmed by this article. McManus brought a great attitude and a deadly long-range shot but never was able to solidify himself as a starter.
