Carroll celebrates with Bellamy and Henderson...Liverpool put
three past a lacklustre Wolves side yesterday at a freezing cold Molineux. Andy Carroll got himself
on the score sheet whilst Wolves struggled to find a goalscorer at all. The win moved Liverpool
into 5th in the table.
Wolves had less worries than originally thought injury wise as Frimpong ended up being able to
start in midfield for McCarthy's side.

I'm awfully late, I know, and haven't commented on the Bolton game. I will do that later, but can
say that it was a game of two halves, simply because McCarthy opted for the far-fetched solution to
the inner-midfield problem by putting Ward in the role. He didn't find the right position and that
made [.
The visit of Wolves over the last two seasons has produced two wins for the boys in red and
white keeping clean sheets on both occasions. Although Wolves have some robust players McCarthy
tries to get them to play football.
He is one of the few managers who I like listening to in post match interviews as he rarely
complains about decisions and outcomes of games, choosing instead to inject some humour in his
"call a spade a spade" approach to cross examination.
Is no tactics at all better than the wrong tactics? That was the question that manager McCarthy
seemed to pose tonight at Molineux against Manchester City in the League Cup. The positives of the
game was that our manager started some of the now fringe players that could be options for the
starting eleven in [.
Wolves are at war. Unfortunately not on the pitch against other teams, but let's hope it spreads to
that aswell. In my humble opinion both parties got it wrong. McCarthy for not bringing the right
team on from start and the 'mindless idiots' for voicing their opinions in the wrong place at the
wrong time.

In the second part of this two-part article, Guest writer Ryan McCarthy continues to explore the
influence and ideological impact of club legend Kenny Dalglish since his return to the managerial
hotseat at Liverpool Football Club.
Read part 1 here
These days it has become common practice for television cameras to zero in on Dalglish for his
reaction when Liverpool score, which is usually arms rising to the heavens; a smile as wide as the
Mersey; caught up in the infectious unbridled, childlike joy of the moment.
The Sun is pretty much useless. Four of the words are necessary, the other two are polite
accessories. And if you're taking it too seriously, there's a place at the end of a short plank for
you.
However, occasionally very occasionally they do provide something worth noting.

The New York Red Bulls secured some sorely needed midfield depth on Friday after acquiring
Guadeloupe defensive midfielder Stephane Auvray from Sporting Kansas City, sources told SBI on
Friday.
The Red Bulls are trading a 2nd-round pick in 2013 as well as an undisclosed amount of
allocation money to Sporting KC for Auvray, who had fallen out of favor with SKC weeks ago and was
no longer in the team's plans.

Wolves are weighing up a loan bid for Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing, 22, but will have to
sell before they buy any more players this summer. McCarthy is also keen on Liverpool's Spanish
defender Daniel Ayala.

Let me first say that I'm delighted. The first back-to-back victory for Wolves this season and it
came at exactly the right time. This was also the first win for manager McCarthy at the Stadium of
Light and the first home and away win against any team this season. Hand-on-heart, though, Wolves
didn't play well [.
It was not pretty at times, but a second half penalty from Shalrie Joseph was enough to give New
England all three points against a game Vancouver side tonight at Gillette Stadium..
With the win, the Revs move to 3-3-4 and 13 points while the Whitecaps fall to 1-5-5 and 8
points.
First Half
The first half ended scoreless in what was a pretty drab affair to be honest.
I'm relieved! In the 11th hour Wolves showed their fighting face and got the result needed and most
wanted. A very much deserved win in the most important game of the season. I must admit to
wrinkling my nose a little at manager McCarthy's' starting eleven in the game. It was a big
surprise that [...
Matt Jarvis never played for England's under 21 side. That probably didn't come as a huge shock
to him – he hadn't been called up for the under 19s or the under 17s either. But this week, at
the age of 24, Jarvis was named in Fabio Capello's squad and will surely become the 1,173rd man to
represent England at senior international level.
Fergie was right: The media did try to get Rooney electrocuted - they wanted him hung up by his
genitals. Predictably, the BBC Match of the Day pundits did their level best to get Rooney
suspended following the events at Wigan on Saturday. Rooney definitely caught McCarthy with his arm
and even die-hard Reds fans will find it difficult to defend the United striker.
This was a classic case of the refereeing bias and incompetence in the Premier League, it is also a
great example of how useless the FA are at enforcing the rules of the game. Rooney's assault on
McCarthy was disgraceful, it was a premeditated smash with the elbow, a really aggressive and
violent act, a clear straight red card offence, arguably it was one that merited more than a three
match ban

Remember the desperate plight of Salvador Cabanas, the former Club America striker that was shot
in the head from close range in a Mexico City bar back in January of last year?
Almost an exact calendar year after the near-fatal shooting took place, Cabanas has miraculously
taken to the field again training with Paraguayan club Libertad with the bullet still lodged deep
in the back of his brain.

According to this morning's Daily Mail, West Ham's portly striker Benni McCarthy has now seen
his 'fat fines' breach the £200,000 barrier after having his wages docked for a fifth time for
failing to meet the club's 2.
Chubby striker's junk food fund takes a hit West Ham forward Benni McCarthy has been fined nearly

So, remember how Ryan Babel plays for Hoffenheim now? Turns out it's not an entirely done deal
just yet, with friends claiming he's in Italy talking to Juventus, the Hoffenheim director of
football saying they are yet to agree to terms, and Dutch media reporting that his agent claims
Ajax is still an option.
