Despite all the bad news coming out of the Emirates recently regarding injuries, and the numbers amount to a whole side, there has been some good news also.
Several players have signed new contracts at the club, the latest being Eduardo. Now forgive me if I'm wrong but I'm sure that I read somewhere that Eduardo was disillusioned at Arsenal because we were hesitating to offer him a new long-term deal. Click to continue reading...

Serie A – Week 2

Serie A Talk 01 September @ 11:54 AM EST

Milan vs. Inter

Could the Derby della Madonnina, the first big derby of the 09-10 season in any European league, live up to the hype? Inter came into the game favorites to win the scudetto after mostly adding to the squad that has won the Serie A four years running. AC Milan did not add much in the offseason, and suffered the huge losses of Carlo Ancelotti, Paolo Maldini and Kaka.

David Beckham's first home game back with the Galaxy was (almost) everything you could ask for from a preseason (for Milan) friendly that was more about the show than the result and the money AEG was making from its prize soccer asset.

Was it a coincidence David Beckham was playing against his former and likely future club and looked more interested performing for the Galaxy Sunday night than he did for half of last season?

I'd say the boo to cheer ratio was 60:40 when David Beckham jogged out to warm-up.

The Riot Squad have unveiled some apt signs for the occasion including "Hey Becks! Here before you, here after you, here despite you," "23 Repent" and "Go home fraud 23"

(Updated: It's about 13 minutes before kickoff; the signs are gone, no doubt removed by AEG.

Steve Nash's Showdown in Chinatown took place yesterday and it looks like it was another success the scruffy little Canadian and his Football for Good charity. Not so much for Chris Bosh, but I guess expecting him to be the next Peter Crouch his first time on the pitch would be a bit much to ask.
