As Striker Liker Christopher Walsh put it on the Ultras facebook page "The blood letting
continues..." Yes, not long ago Coach Shore assured the fans on Miami Ultras Alive #30 (see minute
21) that he expected to keep the majority of his ALMOST championship team.
We've already seen a number of Strikers players packing their bags and moving to other teams.
The Strikers could have wrapped up the game versus the Atlanta Silverbacks in the first 45 minutes
of their game this past Saturday at Lockhart stadium. They had a myriad of shots and chances, yet
their lousy aim thwarted each effort. The second half was a whole different story as Atlanta nearly
beat the Strikers with a 90th minute goal.
The Strikers played a poor game versus rivals FC Tampa this past Saturday in front of about 3700
fans that came out to enjoy a great pre-game atmosphere thanks to over 15 Miami Food trucks. As
usual the supporters started their tailgate early and even created a TIFO poking fun at FC Tampa
aka Rowdies.
This weekend we have a soccer Saturday in South Florida.
It begins at 7:30 pm when the Fort Lauderdale Strikers play against the Puerto Rico Islanders at
the Mecca of South Florida soccer, Lockhart Stadium.
The Strikers are on a 5 game undefeated streak and look to extend that at home against an Islanders
team that come off a 3-1 victory over the Atlanta Silverbacks.
