Today allows us to recognize the dream of Martin Luther King Jr., one of the great leaders the
world has ever seen.
The positive energy he encourages, his ability to motivate and to get others to buy into being a
part of something bigger than themselves are what made him one of the world's great leaders.
With Martin Luther King's legacy being commemorated across the country, it's an eye-opening
shame that blatant forms of racism still exist around the world, specifically in the soccer
forum.
Over the weekend, U.S. midfielder Maurice Edu and Rangers teammate Kyle Bartley were the subject
of racial abuse via Twitter, an incident that resulted in the arrest of a 41-year-old man who was
due to appear in a Scottish court on Monday.
Serena Williams goes for another Grand Slam starting this week.

One of the greatest modern American athletes is gunning for a 14th Major tennis tournament.
She has been everything possible in American sports.
Considering the fact that much of the world is going to be focused this coming weekend on the
life of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his accomplishments toward bringing about progress
in the area of civil rights, I believe it is quite fitting to spend at least some time dwelling on
the concept of dreams.

Like Martin Luther King Jr., Roman Abramovich has a dream. Or, rather, he had a dream, which
really was less a dream than a looming reality. Problem is, it was ever looming, and it now seems
to have passed him by. The Champions League trophy was on Abramovich's horizon for years,
yet it turned out to be no more than a mirage, a now long-lost memory of hope forgone.

Forget the referee.
My original plan was to attend an MLS game and toss a dead baby seal onto the field. Then, I
thought better.
Cesar Chavez. Mahatma Gandhi. Martin Luther King Jr. These great men fought greed, colonialism,
and racism with non-violence. They preached that only light can cast out darkness. An eye for an
eye leaves the whole world blind, so to speak.

FIFA presidential hopeful Mohammed Bin Hammam will NOT be at the CONCACAF general meetings this

Maurice Edu returned from injury to score the final goal as Rangers hammered Hamilton Academic
yesterday. Edu had been down since November, but he has featured regularly for the Scottish side
this season and should be the American every team scrambles to pick up.

Greg is in good company here with Martin Luther King, and, even more exciting, fresh paintwork at
a Kent Pub. All those profits from celebrating Spurs fans are better on the walls than going to
the taxman. Perhaps a win today will take their minds off the smell of emulsion. Dutch courage
comes in many forms as we know and another Ajax connection is made clear here in Greg's big match
