Arsenal legends Dennis Bergkamp and Tony Adams are squaring up for a head-to-head clash – with
the winner securing a coaching role at the Emirates.
The former Gunners are frontrunners to replace Steve Bould within the coaching staff at the club
at the end of the season.
Bould is poised to replace the retiring Pat Rice as Arsene Wenger's No.
Morning all,
the dust has settled somewhat following Sunday's drama, and if anything illustrates how quiet
things have gone from the club's point of view, it's that one of the main stories on the official
website is the news that Luis Boa Morte is joining South African side Orlando Pirates of the
Caribbean.
Karl Robinson and his Milton Keynes Dons side make the short journey down to the Lamex tomorrow
night in what could be a pivotal match as both sides look to cement their position in the League 1
play-off positions. MK Dons sit one place above Stevenage going into the game, although the Dons
are 5 points clear with the bonus of a game in hand.
With several candidates being linked with the vacant managers position at Broadhall Way, I
thought it might be interesting to see who the supporters prefer as their new manager.

Frustration is boiling over at the Emirates- an underperforming squad has started 2012 in a well
documented poor fashion.
Sadly the return of the King Thierry Henry has been tarnished by some mindless fans at Swansea
on Sunday aggravating the Frenchman.
The Gunners have now lost two league games on the bounce and languish well behind their title
rivals and crucially are four points behind Chelsea in forth.
As soon as Graham Westley had parked his Bentley into the car park at Deepdale, bookmakers
online were offering odds on who will be the next manager to step into the Broadhall Way hotseat.
It's arguably the best management position currently on offer in the Football League. Stevenage sit
6th in the League 1 table, are still in the FA Cup and have a squad full of young, hungry players
with room to improve even further.
Christine Bleakley is seen leaving the ITV studios with Frank Lampard and his kids, 04/01/2012.
First she was a hit, but now she's supposedly on thin ice with her new employers. Well that
didn't take very long now did it?
But why has Christine Bleakely fallen so quickly out of favour with the general viewing
public?

Watching the FA Cup 3rd round tie between Arsenal and Leeds United on Monday evening might not
have proved so entertaining if former Arsenal defender Martin Keown had not have been struck by a
ball hit by a visiting Leeds player in the pre-match warm up. Keown was standing by the pitch
alongside ESPN presenter Rebecca Lowe and ex-footballer Robbie Savage.

Arsenal legend and ESPN pundit Martin Keown got hit square in the face by a stray ball live on TV
during the warm-up before Arsenal FA Cup tie with Leeds. The incident occurred when Keown was
giving his pre-match thoughts alongside fellow pundit Robbie Savage before a stray ball emanating
from the Leeds warm-up area [.

In which, during the warm-up, ESPN pundit Martin Keown is accidentally-on-purpose thwacked in
the side of the head by a ball launched toward the pitchside podium by one of the Leeds
players/Ruud van Nistelrooy in a Leeds shirt...
So satisfying.
Ke-owned They really were rolling back the years at Arsenal last night. Thierry Henry was back on
the scoresheet and Martin Keown returned to make an imperious defensive header. Sort of. The former
Gunners defender got smacked in the face as he appeared on ESPN's pitchside pre-match build-up
ahead of Arsenal's FA Cup tie with [.
The inevitable: Thierry Henry came on as a substitute to score the only goal in Arsenal's
victory over Leeds in the FA Cup. The way it was always going to happen.
How many minutes was he on the pitch? Ten? Maybe? (Yes ten.)
After the goal he appeared to be heading off for a full victory lap, running beyond the second
bench, but unfortunately stopped shortly just past.
Liverpool fans are overjoyed to see club captain Steven Gerrard back playing for the club
regularly, and his inspirational impact on the team is being praised across the board. Former
Arsenal stalwart Martin Keown joined the chorus of approval during the BBC's 'Football Focus'
program' on Saturday.
Morning all.
It's pretty quiet today, really. Still a bit of Thierry Henry stuff around with the manager
confirming he'll be in the squad for the Champions League game against AC Milan. Interestingly, he
hinted that the reason he loaned out Vito Mannone wasn't for the player's own benefit but so he
could make space in the squad for Henry (I guess we were at the limit in terms of the number of
'non-homegrown' players in the squad).
The Arsenal legend Martin Keown saw a Gareth Bale double give Tottenham yet another win on Tuesday,
while Arsenal could only manage a draw against lowly Wolves, and he is sorry to admit that he
believes that Harry Redknapp's team is far superior to the Gunners this season. "While Spurs kept
two players, Arsenal lost [.

Manchester United and Arsenal, from 1997 to 2005, undoubtedly engaged in the era-defining
rivalry in English football. In order to be classified as a great sporting rivalry the protagonists
must move beyond the feudalistic; the edge and the aggro, and be ultimately characterised by
supreme competition and a bountiful supply of dramatic and heart-stopping moments.

I would like to start by congratulating Manchester City FC for producing a resounding victory
for football.
By losing to Chelsea last night in the match amusingly referred to by someone on Twitter as "El
Cashico," they have helped demonstrate to the world just how amazing Arsenal's achievement in going
a season unbeaten really was.

Is Group C of the Euro 2012 finals Croatia, Italy, Ireland and Spain the most catholic group in
international football tournament finals history? That thought occurred with the fourth team in two
of next summer's groups still to be drawn out and Italy's and England's balls still to be opened.
When Saturday Comes magazine asked the question of one of the 2002 World Cup finals groups – also
involving Italy and Croatia, alongside Mexico and Ecuador so it wasn't an original thought (when I
have one, I'll surely let you know).

Martin Keown: How bad is the state of modern defending?
So, why are all these goals happening? Look at Barcelona. They play brilliant attacking
football. The difference is they defend as a team and win the ball back by swarming the
opposition.

After just one defeat in six games, Martin Keown has praised Arsenal's bounce back to form after
their lucky but deserved victory against Marseille on Wednesday night. Speaking to the Metro, the

Mertesacker gets a helping hand from a returning player
Aren't we all glad that it's finally over. The last round of internationals for the season. Of
course there will still be stoppages here and there for friendlies as teams prepares their sides
for the upcoming Euro 2012. However, that will a 3 days get-together instead of a full 10 12 days
break.
Food for thought:
In football we can simply learn from the best, but how do we and are we able to do it quickly
enough in each town/city across Australia?
The way they are developed is fascinating, as Bergkamp explains. 'We don't just
classify our players by age, we divide them into three 'wheels' depending on how much they have
grown.
In the wake of Sven Goran Eriksson's opinion that Arsene Wenger would be the ideal next England
manager, bookmakers have installed the Frenchman at odds of 25/1 to take over from Fabio Capello
when the Italian's contract is up next year.
Needless to say, few people will be in agreement with Eriksson's opinion and anyone with a brain
cell will not really believe this will actually happen, moreover there is no way that the Arsenal
boss would even consider taking the post (fortunately for England fans).
Morning all, and it's into the Interlull we go.
One of the worst things about our form at the moment is that it makes Interlulls seem almost
welcome. It's a chance for some re-grouping, for players to go off and clear their heads a bit, and
for the manager and his staff to reassess where we are.
Arsenal keeper Wojciech Szczesny reckons we are still the pride of North London even though we
lost to that lot on Sunday.
Szczesny told the Mirror: "You can't say the balance of power has shifted after just a couple of
months. We've had a poor start to the season but you can't say they're in the ascendancy after just
one game.
