Lee Dixon's Tactical View

Sanford's Soccer Net 07 October @ 08:27 AM EST
I can still remember my first impression of Arsene Wenger when he took over as Arsenal manager back in 1996. He had the look of a geography teacher about him and came across as being very studious. A few of us in that Arsenal side were of an age where we were set in our ways, but also looking over our shoulders to see how long we had left in the game. Click to continue reading...

There is nothing bright about Mark!

Now I am sure he is a smashing chap and all of that but can someone tell me the point of Mark Bright? How he keeps a job on the BBC (the nation's premier TV network) is beyond me. Is it just me that notices that most things he says are incorrect?

Arsenal: The Missing Link

Untold Arsenal 01 October @ 07:35 AM EST
by Greg Adams When you start to read an article about football and missing links you might be excused for thinking that it's going to be about Peter Beardsley, Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney or perhaps even Martin Keown footballers who could single-handedly prove Darwin's Theory of Evolution. That's not quite what I had in mind. Click to continue reading...

Gael Clichy Interview [Video]

Arsenal Station 01 October @ 07:17 AM EST

Since all the papers are quoting this interview with Gael Clichy by Martin Keown on BBC's Football Focus, I am posting the video here so those who haven't been able to see it can have a look. Keown interviews Clichy at Highbury Square and talks about the difference between the Invincibles and this Arsenal side as well as his experience and Arsene Wenger.

I have no hesitation in saying this

Wrighty7 03 September @ 12:15 PM EST
Thomas Vermaelen could be the biggest signing we have made in a long time. There I've said it and I aint taking it back!
Arsenal have been crying out for a dominant defender since the Stone Age. Well, it seems that long ago since Tony Adams, Sol Campbell, Martin Keown and co were the defensive lynch pins of the side. Click to continue reading...

EXCLUSIVE: Fab will stay, says Keown

Arsenal Insider 09 July @ 07:43 AM EST

by CARL ELDRIDGE MARTIN Keown knows all about making a mistake and leaving Arsenal. He did exactly that early in his Gunners career and after spells with Villa and Everton came back home to Highbury to complete a hugely successful, medal-laden career. He left in 1986 when the frugal George Graham wouldn't pay him what he was worth and returned in 1993 for a fee of £2million.

Almunia - Keown on Senderos and Djourou - Matuidi - Hangeland and more...

Arseblog 07 July @ 02:31 AM EST

Morning, I was expecting to have a bit more news about pre-season starting but so far there's been nothing. Oh well.

Not much going on to be honest but Manuel Almunia is already setting the bar for the season ahead. He wants us to start well and play more like we did in the second half of last season, saying:

That is what we need to do from July this year, from the minute we get back for pre-season.

Where do they go from here?

MIKE JACOBS 10 May @ 12:44 PM EST
Sky Sports analyst Andy Gray writes in depth about where he thinks both Arsenal and Chelsea go from here after their defeats in the UEFA Champions League this past week.
It certainly seems that Chelsea will be more in flux, as they are in the position where they are going to have to initially address the hiring of a new manager - Guus Hiddink has committed to return to Russia at the end of the season - and look at infusing a youth movement in a team that has aged over the past 5 years. Arsenal Clown Has Red Swine Flu? More Like Vacuus Casa Febris

Republik Of Mancunia 04 May @ 06:20 AM EST

Vacuus Casa Febris: An illness which is most infectious outside of Manchester, exhibiting symptoms such as inane rambling, increased frustration and rage, and an incredibly bitter taste in the mouth. The best cure, as far as we can tell, is to jump on a red bandwagon or avoid all contact with BBC 1 at 10.

Well done Hull City, you deserved that. Back to the drawing board Arsene!

Wrighty7 28 September @ 07:51 AM EST
I wrote before that underestimating Hull City would bite us on the arse and that has proved correct.
Hull City fully deserved the three points at the Emirates and credit is due to Phil Brown and the Hull players for the way they performed.
Hull were very impressive and they took advantage of a complacent Arsenal side who have to stop believing that they can simply turn up at the Emirates and wipe teams aside. Click to continue reading...

We need this man back.....MARTIN KEOWN....

Wrighty7 21 September @ 12:16 PM EST
It was a fantastic result yesterday. We played some brilliant football and even some Spuds I know were forced to admit that Arsenal are looking good.
I couldn't resist telling them though that Spurs are the STRONGEST team in the league by far. After all, they are holding up 19 other clubs! Click to continue reading...

Can Senderos ever make the breakthrough?.....

Wrighty7 22 July @ 01:00 PM EST
Phil Senderos has been at Arsenal since 2003 and has never really established himself a role in the starting line-up.
He is now 23 and still has time on his side, so there is no doubt that he is still improving as a player and will get better.
He seems more comfortable playing alongside Toure at the back and some Gooners feel that this is the best defensive partnership at the club. Click to continue reading...
