Wolves v Spurs has thrown up its fair share of classic encounters over the years and for
Tottenham, Molineux has generally been a difficult place to travel to. There's often plenty of
goals too as last year's 3-3 draw underlines.
When you think of memorable games from the past, two will always come to mind – (for Spurs
fans anyway).
Aside from Aston Villa, Spurs have supplied more England Internationals than any other club.
When you dig deeper, you'll find that many of Villa's players were supplied at a time when there
were fewer clubs in existence, so this is an impressive statistic.
Although most of Spurs' England contingent failed to feature on Saturday, Michael Dawson earned
praise for his team mates for an assured display that should put him high up Capello's pecking
order.
He'll have to make it on to the pitch first, but if Jermain Defoe scores on Saturday against his
former team, he will join an elite band of Spurs players who have scored 100 goals or more for the
club.
Only 15 players have achieved this so far and if Defoe becomes the 16th he will join illustrious
names such as Jimmy Greaves, Martin Chivers, Bobby Smith, Glenn Hoddle and many other great
servants from the past.
