As I write this, Arsenal Football Club stand on a precipice of doubt, a mountain range
of negativity, a continent of discontent.
In comparison to last summer, we have been positively flying in the transfer market, signing so
far no less than three first-team players with more promised.

With the start of the new Premier League season imminent, we take a look at some of the comings
and goings in the transfer window, and at which teams will be contesting for the title, as well as
those contesting the relegation places.

Forgive me for being glad the season is over but every game was like pouring salt into a weeping
flesh wound. It wasn't getting any better and we are a damn sight fortunate it didn't get any
worse. The indications I got a few weeks ago that the summer will be a lively one seem to be
correct, and today the Finnish FA have pretty much confirmed that we have all but completed the
signing of Charlton full-back Carl Jenkinson.
Rotherham are the visitors this Tuesday night as Boro look to continue where they left off on
Saturday. The games are coming thick and fast now as Boro effectively begin their Christmas period
after the original fixtures were postponed due to the poor weather at the back end of 2010. This
game was initially pencilled in for the 8th January, but our 3rd round tie against Newcastle meant
that the game had to be put back.
