1. Luis Suarez was a bit of a muppet. Hopefully we can now safely conclude that without the
ridiculous defence arguments that have been put forward by some Liverpool fans in recent weeks
since he has now apologised for his actions. 2. Suarez wasn't the only one making a poor decision
to pull his hand [.

Bolton Wanderers 1-2 Wigan Athletic Premier League 11th February 2012
Roberto Martinez' Wigan side moved to within one point of rivals Bolton on Saturday, after the
Latics secured what could be a pivotal victory at the Reebok.
bolton 0-0 arsenal by Futbol2101
What does it take for any other player other than RVP to score goals? It is now official, he's
not pretending any more - Theo Walcott has a mind made of mush in front of goal. Always. Aaron
Ramsey is another. The Ox too for all his brightness was presented with a clear chance.
Liverpool have hit some sort of form since Gerard has returned from injury. Chelsea stole a
point late in the game at Swansea and are now six points ahead of Arsenal. This season has always
been about a battle for fourth an it's time for the Gunners to buckle up and pick up the points in
games like the next one at the Reebok, many much tougher games will anyway see Arsenal dropping
points in the coming weeks.
Bolton's battle to avoid relegation received an unexpected boost with victory over a Liverpool side
who need to improve quickly if their season is not to unravel around them.
Midfielders Mark Davies and Nigel Reo-Coker gave the home side a deserved 2-0 lead inside
half-an-hour and although Craig Bellamy's seventh of the season reduced the deficit, Gretar
Steinsson restored the two-goal cushion just five minutes into the second half.
Furious Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has threatened some of his players with the chop after
accusing them of showing a lack of respect in a 3-1 defeat at Bolton.
For the first time since returning as Reds boss just over a year ago, the Scot publicly criticized
his squad.
Dalglish believes they were distracted by Wednesday's forthcoming Carling Cup semi-final second leg
against Manchester City, which they go into holding a slender 1-0 lead, and the FA Cup fourth-round
tie at home to Manchester United next weekend.
Owen Coyle felt Bolton Wanderers ran out deserved winners following their emphatic 3-1 success over
Liverpool at the Reebok.
Bolton came into the game having lost 10 straight in league action to the Reds, a record that ended
in style on Saturday.
Mark Davies fired the home side ahead early on with Nigel Reo-Coker doubling their advantage in the
29th minute.
That's how we all feel mate...If i walked into a club, thinking
and acting like i was better than everybody else, i'd most probably, within an hour and a half or
so, get battered. Which is exactly what happened to Liverpool on Saturday. They walked into
Bolton's club, acting like they were better than them, like the three points were theirs before
they'd kicked a ball and then, they were battered.

Newcastle's hopes of taking advantage of Chelsea's draw at Norwich were stopped by a five-goal
second-half blitz from Fulham as they lost 5-2 at Fulham.
Fulham were poor in the first-hald and it was no surprise that Newcastle scored first thanks to
a Danny Guthrie thunderbolt from outside the area.

Bolton Wanderers 3-1 Liverpool Premier League 21 January 2012
Starting without a genuine defensive midfielder was always going to leave the visiting Reds
somewhat vulnerable at the Reebok. Still, with Steven Gerrard orchestrating things from midfield and
Bolton ensconced in a relegation battle, Kenny Dalglish and co.
Bolton 3: Davies 4′, Reo-Coker 29′, Steinsson 50′Liverpool 1: Bellamy 37′
Bolton thoroughly dominate Liverpool at the Reebok and coast to a 3-1 victory that boosts them
out of the relegation zone. The host's performance was certainly deserving of victory, and
Liverpool's was equally deserving of a loss.

Things are looking worse and worse for Steve Kean as Blackburn manager as his club slumped to a
2-1 loss to Bolton on Tuesday, intensifying calls for him to be fired.
Blackburn is now rooted to the bottom of the English Premier League and is four points away from
safety having played a game more than its competitors.
It was billed as a match in which the losing manager would get fired, and if that is the case
then it will be a much happier Christmas in the Coyle household this season than the Kean one as
Bolton beat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 in a relegation six pointer.
The result means Blackburn replace Bolton at the foot of the Premier League, and Rovers will be
bottom at Christmas with only one team avoiding relegation from that position.

Blackburn Rovers 1-2 Bolton Wanderers Premier League 19th December 2011
One wonders just how loud the roars of disapproval and nasty abuse will have to get at Ewood
Park before the Venky's finally decide to re-think their consistent support of manager Steve
Kean.
The demand to see the back of Steve Kean grew on Tuesday night as Blackburn Rovers lost 2-1 to
Bolton at Ewood Park with furious Rovers fans demanding that Kean be sacked Goals by Mark Davies
and Nigel Reo-Coker proved decisive as Bolton Wanderers grabbed a priceless 2-1 win over Lancashire
rivals Blackburn Rovers at [.
With Shay Given out for a month, Brad Guzan gets his first Premier League start, and it's also
emerged this week that the American is in contract discussions with his current deal set to expire
at the end of the season. Jermaine Jenas is out for the season, and with the club apparently on the
hook for his wages the less said about that the better.
Team news and manager quotes ahead of Arsenal's Carling Cup fourth-round clash at home to
Bolton.
TEAM NEWS:
Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen could make his comeback from a two-month Achilles injury
layoff. With one eye on Saturday's derby at Chelsea, manager Arsene Wenger is likely to rest the
likes of Laurent Koscielny, Per Mertesacker and Robin van Persie, and give starts to the fringe
players like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Francis Coquelin, Park Chu-Young and Emmanuel Frimpong.
Bolton come to Villa Park for the 3rd round of the Carling Cup, Alex McLeish has fielded a very
strong side and Owen Coyle is able to hand Stuart Holden his first appearance since his knee injury
at the tail end of last season.

A trip to a usually hostile Reebok Stadium probably isn't the ideal way to return from and
international break, one which United headed into with great momentum, having put 8 past an abysmal
Arsenal side and 3 past Spurs.
From the side that did so well last season, Bolton missed Elmander, Sturridge, Steinsson,
Holden, Muamba and Lee, bringing in City loanee Boyata as an uncomfortable right back,
Klasnic/Tuncay/N'Gog as poor replacements for Elmander and Sturridge, both of whom left Bolton
without a penny coming in, and Eagles, Reo Coker and Mark Davies filling in for injured or unfit
players in the midfield.

Trotters?

And it should have been more. Potential in action. The frightening thing is that there's still
plenty of room for improvement.
Liverpool's formation looked more like the 4-2-2-2 that faced Sunderland at Anfield rather than the
4-2-3-1/4-3-3 at Arsenal.
Liverpool v Bolton Wanderers as it happened | Scott Murray
Perhaps the only highlight of former Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson's painful reign last season
came when his side did the double over Bolton Wanderers. But even those slim pickings, secured on
New Year's Day with a late Joe Cole goal at Anfield, not long before Roy was told to do one, can be
put into context: it was Liverpool's fourth double in a row over the Trotters.
The obligatory Owen Coyle photo
The cup season is upon us once again as Bolton Wanderers open the Carling Cup against
Macclesfield Town at the Reebok. The Silkmen of League Two downed Hull City by a score of 2-0 to
reach the second round. Bolton will look to do better than they did last year when they were ousted
by Burnley in the third round.
Do you hear that? That's the sound of Premiership football (with the exception of Spurs-Everton)
rumbling closer. While we haven't been exactly starved for footy this summer (Womens World Cup,
Copa America, U21 Euro's etc) there is nothing like the Prem. Tomorrow the Trotters usher in the
new season with a trip to new boys, QPR.
Coyle's new signing, whoever that is, will be the star of the season
Top Scorer: Whichever striker Owen Coyle signs
I can't see any of our current attacking options (Kevin Davies, Ivan Klasnic, or Robbie Blake)
making a serious splash in the goals scored column. Coyle has said that he won't give up his bid to
sign a new attacking player and we know that our manager has the ability to turn whatever misfiring
young striker (cough Sturridge cough) he gets on the cheap into a goal scoring machine.
Reo-Coker not putting a foot wrong
The preseason started and ended with a murmur. Just like the 1-0 loss to FC Tampa Bay right at
the beginning, Bolton lost 1-0 to Levante UD at the Reebok. An uninteresting game that saw the only
goal come from Iborra after he tapped in a Ruben free kick that banged off the crossbar.

Quick Reminder, Real Life A hot start to the season seemed to fall apart when rising playmaker
Stuart Holden was injured and Elmander, who started the season blazing hot, cooled dramatically.
Bolton fell to 14th in the final accounting. Much-ballyhooed summer signing MPet (Martin Petrov)
failed to recapture the form he demonstrated in his first season with Manchester City.
This is the only picture I could find...
While I haven't exactly been starved of football this summer, between the Gold Cup and the
Women's World Cup, there is nothing like watching the mighty Bolton Wanderers. The Trotters began
their preseason with a stop in at Al Lang Stadium to play FC Tampa Bay.
Yes, out of the 30 photos from training in Orlando, I chose this one.
It's no secret that this hasn't been exactly the most exciting summer for the Bolton Wanderers,
and any news is at least vaguely interesting. I mean, I read an interview with the kitman earlier
today. I know exactly how many ankle socks they brought to America.
Pre-season training starts today, and I am sure that you, much like me, are overjoyed as this
brings us one step closer to the regular season. I imagine that the players and coaching staff are
even more excited to get back to it, if only because they can share the wild stories of their
summer holidays with the rest of the class.

Unsurprisingly, things are a bit slow at the moment. The season is not quite over, but the
transfer rumour mill has yet to fully start up. This means it's the perfect time for me to write
about the Junior Whites end of the season party, complete with awards as voted by our young
supporters. Every year the players attend to pick up any awards they may have won, then sign shirts
for the kids, and according to Super Kevin Davies, a jolly time is had by all.

"I hate perception. There is far too much of it in the game. I prefer to stick to
reality."
- Sam Allardyce
One of the perceptions in the game right now is that Owen Coyle plays football the right way.
Apparently he's introduced football at the Reebok – and football writers are falling over
themselves to lavish praise on him:
"Coyle has won admirers for an attractive style of passing football at Bolton, where
predecessors Sam Allardyce and Gary Megson were noted for their direct play.
This sounds bad but I almost want Blackpool to win. It's been nice having those Tangerines with
us in the Prem, and with a killer final fixture, they need a result against us to salvage any hope
of staying up. While Blackpool are fighting for survival, Bolton don't seem to be fighting for much
anymore.
Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing has been drafted into England Under-21s' provisional 40-man squad
for this summer's European Championships.
The 22-year-old will join up with Stuart Pearce's side after Bolton midfielder Mark Davies was
ruled out of the tournament in Denmark through injury.
Pearce will submit his long squad to European governing body UEFA on Thursday and Spearing has been
handed an Under-21 berth for the first time.
