Sadly "The Ali Gerba Dip" didn't make the cutHappy Victoria Day! As Canadians enjoy their first long weekend of the summer and celebrate what
American soap actress Victoria Principal did for this country, many will crack open a big box of
our national dish - the donut. From the Cod Fritters of Newfoundland to the Marijuana Glazed of BC,
Hosers love their fried dough - especially the Tim Hortons type.
Many dream of life a professional athlete and all the perks it offers. Money, fame and success,
if the perception, and though not all make Beckham money, even those on the fringes often live a
very comfortable life.
Not sure how many people dream of running a pot farm (some, surely). Or would choose to arguably
give up the former career for a life of drug dealing and a bevy of "don't drop the soap" jokes.
Derbies are, by nature, torrid affairs. Some might say the same of most South American games,
which is rather complimentary.
Combine the two and you're in for a barnstorming day of good viewing...from afar.
Colombia, however, just might take the cake: no minors, no identifying team colors.
Shalrie Joseph is one of the best players in MLS. Without question.
He is a ball winner, an organizer, a stopper, a physical presence, a goal scorer, and a vocal
presence in the heart of the attack. It would not be a stretch that there are many occasions when
Joseph does it all.
All, except for one crucially important thing: setting a good example.
The Boston Globe has reported New England's Captain, Shalrie Joseph, has been dismissed from the
squad's Orlando training camp along with teammate Kevin Alston. Both players featured in Friday's
2-0 win over the University of Central Florida, but have not appeared in training for the past two
days.
