Yesterday I took a look at the 10 clubs from the Eastern Conference in how they've done so far this winter. Naturally right after the post was put up one of those clubs went out and signed a DP.

Today, we'll look at the nine clubs from the Western Conference to see how they've been doing so far this winter.

While the transfer window in Europe opens up in less than 48 hours, Major League Soccer teams have been busy since the season ended, rebuilding and retooling for next season. Here is a team-by-team look at what each side has done so far this offseason. Who has had the best offseason?

There was a time when I liked a couple players in the MLS Re-Entry Draft for the Seattle Sounders to pick up in Stage Two and talk into less money. First Bobby Boswell renegotiated with the Houston Dynamo and then Bobby Convey went to Sporting Kansas City at a cut rate (rumors say 200K$). Now the list of available players is absent of the really appealing names.

Clubs can protect 11 players ahead of the 10-round draft for the Montreal Impact, which will join MLS next year.

A team can only lose one player.

Wonder if Impact Coach Jesse Marsch will take a player from his most recent former club, Chivas USA? Will he bring home Canadian Ante Jazic, a solid addition to any expansion team's backline?

I hate to admit it, but I was at a conference on Saturday and was left to follow the Seattle Sounders-Chivas USA match via Twitter. I've now watched the highlights (and promise to watch the full game) and can safely say that the frustration I felt while not watching the game would have probably been even worse if I had watched.

With 17 games already played, tonight's game against Chivas USA represents the beginning of the second half of the 34 game season for the Chicago Fire. A win and everything else going Chicago's way tonight would inconceivable put the Fire in the last qualification spot for the MLS Playoffs leading into Sunday, July 3rd.

Remember Victor Estupinan promising he would get thirty goals this year for Chivas USA? Well, right now he's twenty-nine short.
Oh, wait, my bad - I was reading the wrong column. He has one shot on goal so far.
Well, if he is gonna break the league scoring record for Chivas USA, he's going to have to do it this year, because today the club announced that it would get rid of him this year.

The Track and Field Stadium at Home Depot Center was the site of the latest edition of the Super Clasico between Chivas USA and the LA Galaxy.
Okay, it was just a reserve match but it still was Chivas-Galaxy match.
Victor Estupinian had two goals while Gerson Mayen added two assists as Chivas won 3-1.

Gabriel Ferrari had a shot deflect off Houston defender Eddie Robinson for an own goal, and Martin Rivas scored twice as the Chicago Fire topped the Houston Dynamo, 3-0, in MLS Reserve League action on Sunday morning.

Rivas, a 19-year-old Argentine trialist, is hoping to catch on with an MLS club after trialing with D.

LA Galaxy 3 Portland Timbers 0
Landon Donovan scored his first two goals of the season and added an assist to help the Los Angeles Galaxy beat the Portland Timbers 3-0.

Donovan had missed the last three games due to a of a knee injury and it did not take him long to show everyone that he was fully fit as the Galaxy scored twice in the first 8 minutes.

San Jose 1 – Chivas USA 2 Chivas USA came back on he road for their first win of the season and extend their unbeaten streak to four games. Chris Wondolowski opened the scoring for San Jose in the 16th minute in front of 10,525 at Buck Shaw Stadium. Alejandro Moreno equalized just before halftime, with Mariano Trujillo scoring the winning goal in the 85th minute.

For weeks, Chivas USA has searched for goals.

On Saturday, the Rojiblancos finally found them and were able to earn their first victory of the season in a 2-1, come-from-behind result against the San Jose Earthquakes.

Alejandro Moreno and Mariano Trujillo scored the goals, which equaled the highest goal output that Chivas has had all season.

It may have been important to start playing immediately after losing Dwayne De Rosario in a trade to New York. We got to see new boy Tony Tchani in action right away and he showed glimpses of the vision and creativity that is sometimes lacking in THE MLS.

The Galaxy headed to Arizona Sunday for a 10-day camp that will see them play the Colorado Rapids Wednesday and Vancouver Sunday and next Tuesday.

*Chivas USA dropped a 1-0 decision to the Seattle Sounders Saturday in Casa Grande, Ariz.

Chivas USA won 2-0 on goals from Alan Gordon and draft pick Victor Estupiñan over PDL team Fresno Fuego today in a game played just outside Paso Robles.

Gordon scored in the 31st minute from a header off a cross supplied by his former Galaxy teammate Tristan Bowen. Estupiñan's second similarly resulted from a header off a cross from defender Carlos Borja in the 80th minute.
