versus creation (Sao Paulo). Palmeiras leads because of the goal difference, three more than Sao
Paulo.
On the weekend, Palmeiras played the derby against Corinthians whereas Sao Paulo played
Barueri.

Up until last week, the Brasileirao seemed the tournament no one wanted to win. The favorites
kept losing points with pale football. But the 30th round shows signs of change by two sides.
Flamengo and Atletico-MG want to take the title home after a long time.
While Palmeiras, Sao Paulo, Inter and Goias gave another display of loss of steam, the two sides
pocketed the three points in very important matches.

After the 29th round of Brasileiro, it seems no one wants to take the title home. Like in the
last round, when only one club on the top won, the leaders collectively failed again. Palmeiras,
Sao Paulo and Atletico-MG lost. Inter and Goias tied at home. And, in this way, Flamengo, the 6th
side on the table, was the first team on the top to win.

The 24th round of Campeonato Brasileiro was all Sao Paulo's.
Sao Paulo received the surprisingly good side of Avai at Morumbi. In the first-half, Avai made
things difficult for Sao Paulo, as the home team offered loose defensive action in the midfield. In
the second-half, however, Sao Paulo decided to suffocate the visitors.

The 5th round of Campeonato Brasileiro confirmed a few things either Brazilians already know or
are getting used to.
1) Bad boys will always be bad boys:
Goalie Fabio Costa from Santos and forward Kleber from Cruzeiro did it again. In the Santo Andre
3- 3 Santos draw, Fabio Costa caused an injury in Gustavo Nery which will leave him out of action
for 3 months at least.

for 3 matches in a row started losing but managed to get two draws and one victory?
Answer: Fluminense scoring first through Fred (something that did not happen since April 30th) but
conceiving the draw to Nautico in the second half's stoppage time.

Saint Mark is back. Or I should say Sao Marcos. The goalie that became a saint after denying
important penalties in the Copa Libertadores in the late 90's/early 00's did some of his miracles
again.
Palmeiras visited Sport for the second-leg of Copa Libertadores' the round of 16. The locals
played better all the time, missed important chances and scored only one goal.

Real Sociedad's hopes of promotion this season all but disappeared yesterday after losing to rivals
Alavés. This is the team of course who defeated Real in the final game of last season at the same
venue to end the promotion dream and they have hit a hammer blow again. Things looked rosy in the
first half as both teams battled hard and looked hungry for the win.

Real Sociedad suffered the heartbreak of losing an injury time goal in this afternoons match as the
game ended 2-2 when it looked like a vital 3 points were going to be gained. Agirretxe's goal in
the 67th minute looked to have won it but Pierini equilased for the hosts in the 94th minute.
Real Sociedad started the stronger and took a deserved lead on 20 minutes when winger Marcos picked
up the ball out on the right before cutting inside and unleashing a great shot past Mario in the
Cordoba goal.
