I am going through the Champions League games this week and I am amazed at the stars who will be
missing because of injury. The Champions League is billed as the best club tournament in the world,
but this years event so far has failed to live up to the hype. Whether it is familiarity because
the same sides play each other every year, or a full schedule that leaves players vulnerable to
injury, the Champions League group stages this year have been a major disappointment.

Apparently Zidane and Marco Materazzi have become the new Israel and Palestine since the
Headbutt Heard Round The World at the 2006 World Cup final. The two have never kissed and made up,
despite numerous attempts to bring peace between the two by surprisingly important people who must
not have anything better to do with their lives.

The match-up most of us have been waiting for is here and highlights the second day of Matchday
One in the UEFA Champions League.
FC Barcelona, the reigning champions, take on Inter Milan, in a match-up chock full of sub-plots
and juicy match-ups. Samuel Eto'o looks to show Barcelona that it made a mistake by letting him go
while Zlatan Ibrahimovic faces former Inter teammates who aren't too thrilled with him taking all
the credit for the three Serie A titles they win with him at striker.

In a daring heist last night, the boots of five Inter players including Marco Materazzi's were
stolen from the club's Pinetina training facility, says tuttomercatoweb. The only reason
they didn't get more is that most Inter players are away on International duty and, obviously, took
their boots with them.

Some television series had a character that was an avid Serie A football player. On the show that
guy said he lost that week because Inter Milan defender Marco Materazzi getting sent off.
I guess that's grounds for a slander suit. Though it appears to be half tongue-in-cheek.
As a result of such defamatory slander, Materazzi is asking for €1 for every viewer

Brazil. To anyone who follows world soccer, it's not news that Brazil doesn't samba across the
pitch any longer, and hasn't for a long time. These days they look like a talented team, but not
one with a style that sets them significantly apart from other talented teams. But while joga
bonito may have seen better days in Brazil, this is also not the leadfooted defensive-minded Brazil
that shocked many of us in the 2007 Copa América.
