Juventus took an important step towards reaching the Coppa Italia final as a returning Martin
Caceres scored a brace to ensure a 2-1 semi-final first leg win over Milan at the Stadio Giuseppe
Meazza. Antonio Conte made changes as noted in the pre-match press conference, with Marco Storari,
Caceres, Simone Padoin, Alessandro Del Piero and Marco Borriello all starting in the 3-5-2
formation.
Atalanta Guglielmo Stendardo joined Atalanta on loan from Lazio until the end of the season. The
30-year-old defender has spent most of past two seasons on the bench at the Rome club, and will be
delighted to get the chance to feature for the first team in Bergamo. (+ve) Another experienced
arrival is midfielder Alessandro Carrozza from Serie B outfit Varese.
It has been an up and down season for Juventus striker Alessandro Matri. There have been times
where it seems that every time he touches the ball it ends up in the back of the net while at other
times there have long absences of his name on the score sheet. When he is hot, he has been praised
uncontrollably, even once being compared as the next David Trezeguet.
Juventus were crowned Serie A Winter Champions after one of their most controlled performances of
the season on Saturday night. Atalanta have proven to be tough opposition for any team, especially
at home where their only defeat prior was to champions Milan. But, the Bianconeri overcame early
frustration to eventually overcome the Nerazzurri with relative ease.
With 41 points from the first 19 matches of the Serie A season, Juventus finds itself with the
symbolic label of ‘winter champions' for the first time in six long years. Much of that is down
to new manager Antonio Conte (the players themselves have helped a bit as well). The influence of
the one-time Juventus captain has been well documented throughout the season.
Eighteen matches into the season and Juventus are undefeated and sitting in first place. Everything
seems rosy red, or pink (like their away shirt), in Turin. While Juventus find themselves in an
ideal situation heading into the second half of the season, their rise to the top has been much due
to their own good work as it has been to many of their rivals' failure to truly assert themselves
as.

The impending arrival of Carlos Tevez could well end any hopes Filippo Inzaghi had of
winning back his place in the AC Milan Champions League squad let alone the first team. Unless
Super Pippo can prove people wrong one more time, the 38-year-old poacher will have to seek a new
home before the transfer window closes.

While Juventus are off training in the sun of the Arabian Peninsula, the front office is hard at
work as the winter transfer window opens. As always, in Italy, the rumors are flying forth from the
media, and while some names are pure speculation, there are a few players who will most likely be
playing in Torino in the next weeks.

There's a bevy of beautiful 'ballers across multiple domestic leagues who desperately need
medical assistance.
We've already written our recommended rehab prescriptions, and now all we ask is for some
expert(s) in the field who can responsibly oversee their care and return them to fighting fit
form.

The January transfer window has been flung open once again and after the excitement of last
year, we thought a reasonably thorough look at the early hip dip movers and rump shakers was
needed.
Antonio Conte.

ahead in the upcoming year?
Barbara Berlusconi – daughter of disgraced former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi,
member of Milan's board of directors, and Alexandre Pato's girlfriend – has been the subject of
much speculation as of late, with many gossip magazines claiming the beautiful blonde is carrying
Pato's child.

We're not sure what holidays everyone here celebrates (but are open to hearing more!), but most
of our staff grew up believing that Santa was real and Grandma couldn't ever make our favourite
homemade cookies because she got run over by a reindeer.

Without naming names and making a certain someone feel more uncomfortable than he already looks,
somebody got the short end of the promo modeling stick.
Good lord what have they done to his hair? And furrowed brow? We feel awkward for him.
Because we can't have any member of our Finest Five looking this unattractive in broad, publicly

AS Roma have offered striker Marco Borriello to Liverpool.
Il Tempo says Borriello, who has been put up for sale by Roma this week, has rejected an offer from
Fulham.
Determined to clear him off the books, Roma made contact with Liverpool about the striker's
availability.
Liverpool did not shut the door, but told Roma to wait while the Reds pursue Manchester City
attacker Craig Bellamy.

Two juicy soundbites emerged today from Italy. Admittedly, one was from Facebook, and since that
merely exists in a hypothetical cloud, it's not exactly from Italy, but both concern players'
compatibility. Giuseppe Rossi? So compatible he could have his own Match.com. Marco Borriello?
Not so much.

Seems odd, but we don't take much notice of footballers on Facebook. Heck, we're seriously
demotivated when it comes to updating our own Facebook page. Yes, you know the one. It's covered in
moths, chewing gum wrappers and someone clever has written "Wash Me" in the 2 inches of dust that's
settled on top of it.
At the moment three is a number of concern for Roma in fact its the same number that Daniele De
Rossi has been banned from playing in Europe by UEFA for the elbow to Dario Srna of Shakhtar
Donetsk during the first knockout round of Champions League action. "It was an ugly act, punishable
by appropriate penalties.
Rigore, as penalty kicks are known in Italy, are games of luck. A well-aimed kick has a much better
chance of going in than being saved by the goalie, who often must take a literal leap of faith
before the ball is even struck. For Roma, however, there is of course more to the story. Claudio
Pizarro has proven that he has the bottle to take a decisive spot kick when it matters.

The Italian national team's first test in 2011 came with a friendly trip up north to Germany. Even
though this was a friendly match, you can bet that it can be anything but friendly on the pitch
between these two. Germany has been a strong football team for many years, and made back to back
appearances in the the last two World Cup semi-finals.

There are many potholes on the road to love, and Nina Senicar may just be one big speed bump in
Marco Borriello's little black book.
It appears that, like all hook up-based relationships, something other than Marco's hair lost
its luster.
Recently, Nina was out and about as she flirtatiously frollicked with former Italian 'baller
Stefano Bittarini.
Mirko Vucinic and Jeremy Menez are so effective coming off the bench that Claudio Ranieri may never

that was lost 5-1 in the previous fixture this season has been won 3-0 this time around and

On Wednesday January 19, 2011, Lazio and Roma will meet at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome for a rare
Coppa Italia version of the Derby della Capitale. While the match's result does not impact either
club's standing in the 2010/2011 Serie A Scudetto campaign, a place in the Coppa Italia
quarterfinals and capital city bragging rights are on the line.

When a star collapses under its own weight, in an extraordinary phenomenon that occurs for a
variety of reasons including an excess consumption of fuel, a black hole results. The star's
internal pressure cannot withstand the force of its own gravity, and essentially implodes, becoming
a swirling outlet which devours anything it comes across.
